  1. You can bend the hands, but why not do it right to begin with? No one is going to remember what watch you wore to the wedding. On the other hand, you'll be looking at it on your wrist for a long time and knowing it's wrong.
  2. 1016 Explorer: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/171126-my-explorer-1016-build-is-finally-complete/ 16014 DateJust: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/152469-franken-datejust-journey-finally-complete/ Modded 3717 (not really franken): http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/116748-my-modded-3717/ Next up ... Comex 5514, followed by a Daytona 6265. Just finishing with finding parts ...
  3. Who actually pays the money is immaterial to a discussion about the relative cost of the iPhone vs its competition. Apple isn't giving them away. Purchasing the iPhone is really no different than buying a Rolex, or any other advertising driven brand. Often times the product isn't actually 'better', but there is a perception of value or cache associated with the brand that people are willing to pay a premium for.
  4. A 6+ with 64GB is $849. You're still paying that price even if it's supplemented through a contract down to $399. Plus, I can use any GSM carrier worldwide at local rates and can switch carriers any time I want to because there is no contract to deal with. Freedom is a good thing.
  5. Not here. Have too much fun working with Android custom builds and not having to wait a year when I want to pick up my next phone. Oh, and my Nexus 5 w/ 32 gb was $399, and I haven't come remotely close to filling it up. Spending $1000 for a phone is nuts.
  6. Well, I guess you (and the customer) now know what an attempt to smear you on the boards will result in ... nealy everyone believing that you have made a very reasonable offer to the customer to help resolve things. I have a lot of experience in running businesses and no matter how hard one tries, there are always going to be customers that you can't please no matter what you do. I'm relatively certain that even if you gave him a new bag for free, he'd probably come onto the forum and make a less than flattering post about having to threaten you to get you to do the right thing. With some customers, there is no pleasing them. Even if they get everything they want. The only defense the customer could possibly have (and it's a stretch) is that he genuinely may have had no idea about how to properly package the bag to return it to you undamaged. Personally, I would have unwrapped things carefully to begin with and re-wrapped it exactly the same way, but not everyone thinks through the potential issues. Regardless, this is a shipping problem and whomever shipped it should be looked to for compensation for the damage. Ken's only duty is to take the bag back and provide the correct one. The customer has the duty to return the wrong product in the condition that it came in. If it got mucked up in shipping, and the shipper doesn't cover the damage, then it's up to both sides to reach a compromise on how to handle things. Ken has made a generous offer to make things right, and if the customer wants to refuse it, then it's on him.
  7. Depends on the A7750. The old 21.6k beat version would fit gen hands. The newer 28.8k version does not unless they are modified to fit.
  8. If you are talking 7836, the answer is no, the Yuki is not worth the additional cost. I know there is a review of them someplace (maybe LHOOQ?). I think the Yuki 7206 is worth it though. Found the review: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/120850-rep-7836-bracelet-photo-review/
  9. I used Mary's 7836 with WSO's 580 endlinks on mine. Didn't have to pay w/ WU though. Maybe it's a new requirement?
  10. Original DateJust with a gold fluted bezel (either yellow, or white). Pair it with a MOP dial and you'll have a winner for sure. I like the Omega Constellation also, but it's 35mm in a ladies version.
  11. No, the promises that SEO companies make are mostly hokum at this point, not rocket science. There are very few 'tricks' you can do anymore that will significantly improve your search results, as long as you simply follow good web design and pay attention to Google's Webmaster Guidelines. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35769 The search engines have gotten very sophisticated with their crawling/ranking engines. Good content on the page trumps all. Any company that blindly send you an email, or posts some drivel like the OP on a message board is nothing more than a scammer trying to part you from your wallet.
  12. I know PBdad has been swamped with work. If you are emailing him, it will take a few days to get responses. If you haven't heard back in a week, I'd try again.
  13. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/66519-a-possible-remedy-for-secs-at-6-7750s/
  14. Yep, that's what happens to them. The seconds hand gets erratic, or stops altogether. You can get the movement serviced, preferably with the graphite treatment (since Domi is no longer doing the jewel mod) and it will run again (at least for awhile). Or, as an alternative, you could use the case set and build a Tudor Chrono with a regular 7750. You could also probably sell it for a small price and let someone else either fix it or use the parts. Don't just bin it. If you really must have a modern Daytona, here are your options: 1) Best - franken build with Zenith elPrimero movement (big $$$$) 2) Better+ - the same version of the watch you probably have but with Domi's jewel mod (M2M sale at this point unless someone else starts doing them) 3) Better - the watch you have serviced and adding the graphite treatment to the troublesome transfer gears 3) Good - the version with the frozen center second hand 4) Fair - keep the watch you have and get it serviced whenever it starts to act funny. Keep the movement hacked when not wearing it and never use the chronos.
  15. I would never wear it, but all that's important (as others have said) is that you like it, can afford it, and it fits with your lifestyle. But your point about Vegas is wrong. Vegas is my second home (I work in the gaming industry) and everything doesn't have to be loud in Vegas. Vegas is the land of the poseurs. Anyone who lives and works there knows it, and can readily spot them from a mile away. Fake atitudes, fake clothes, fake jewely, fake watches, fake bags, and overbought fake lifestyles. All trying to make people think they have more money and a better life than they really do. Your post is a prime example. The watch (if genuine) would easily be worth far more than the car. Can't tell you how many times I have seen guys sporting blinged out watches, chains, or clothes (while bragging about how much everything cost) all of the sudden clam up when they get asked to buy a couple of bottles at a club, or when the meal comes to $1,000. Wearing a $30k watch (if genuine) and can't sit at a $100 blackjack table? Consider that being called out ... it happens all the time ... When in Vegas, I am able to get VIP treatment everywhere I go. Although I certainly don't dress like a bum or wear a Timex, there is no need to be "loud" to get treated well. People figure out I am probably doing well financially because of how I carry myself, and how I actually spend. No flash, no hype necessary. I don't have to advertise or try to sell it. Even if someone is an athlete, celebrity or rock star it's still really not necessary. Look at LeBron James. Could wear all the iced out stuff anyone could afford and he's normally wearing conservative clothes, and an understated AP (due to his endorcement deal). Yet everyone knows he's the man. He doesn't have to prove himself to anyone. When anyone has to dial up the volume to "prove they belong", they ususally don't, and it readily shows to those they are trying to impress.
  16. Haven't had this guy out for awhile ... Ezio made me do it ....
  17. Any of the trusted dealers should be able to get any rep that's actually available. Contact Toro directly and tell him exactly what you are looking for. I'm sure he'll be able to tell you if it's still available. Must admit, I've never even heard of this one, so I have no idea if it's even been rep'd to begin with.
  18. Here's what the rep looks like. http://www.pure-time.com/product/portuguese-automatic-ss-black-dial/ http://www.pure-time.com/product/portuguese-automatic-ss-white-dial/ As you can see, the subdials are too close to the center, and the date is sunken. The pictures from Ali Express are photoshopped pictures of a gen.
  19. I think LHOOQ's posts on the various case options has some good details. Good luck!
  20. Great work ... now get started on that 1016 ....
  21. The rep of this model does not have the correct subdial spacing. You will not get what's shown in the pictures.
