The Di-Modell comes in a 22mm strap size. They are easy to fit on the 21mm 3717 by just a little squeeze at the lugs. My Tourby strap is also 22mm FYI.

I went with a Tourby strap ...

Keep it. I have received many expensive and non expensive gifts from friends over the years. Gifts given that have no special context to them I have never had a problem letting go of if they didn't suit me. The watch you received from your friend does have a special context. It was a thank you for helping him make a dream come true. Others might be able to do it, but I could never part with a memory like that.

falconeye ... the search function works just fine for finding all you need to know about Subs here in this forum. You need to take the time and read through the site yourself because everyone will have different opinions to this question, and you need to make up your own mind based on the reviews and the pictures you see. The reason you are getting some grief is that every new member seems to register for the various rep sites and rather than taking the time to read through the many posts on the subject, they make their first post 'Who Has the Best Sub?' It annoys a lot of the established members. Don't take it personally, you are not the first, and won't be the last. IMO the best Subs out there would be: 1) The WM9 v2 Sub. You get this from BK. Here's the thread on it: 2) The Euromariner. You get this from Eurotimez. Here's the thread: http://www.rwgforum.com/topic/78729-euromariner-black-2008-v2-rolex-submariner-16610/ Here's his website: http://www.eurotimez88.com 3) The Precious Time Supreme Sub. This is supposed to be the WM9 v1 Sub. You get this from Prescious Time. Here is the link: http://ptswiss.com/product_info.php?cPath=50&products_id=162&osCsid=ad4f3d53f8f5f24ee8180c0636a0592f Availability on some or all of these Subs might be limited, so you will have to contact the respective dealers and see what stocks look like and what wait times will be. You can also keep checking the member sales section, as they do show up from time to time.

Contact BK. I'm sure he can hook you up with a replacement.
-
Depending on the case, the gen dial would likely fit. You will have to remove the dial feet though. They are readily available on the Bay. You might want to check with BK, as the WM9 v2 Sub dial is quite good if you don't want to go gen.

BK was not collecting for 2824's for the LV Sub, just the SD. You will get the ETA movement with both watches, but from what I have read, until you send $$ for at least the movement on the SD you will keep sliding down the list for getting it.

My Accutron Chrono is on the wrist today ...

IMO the 2836-2 clone would be better than the 2813. If you order the 'Swiss' 2836-2 I'd say you are still probably no better than 50-50 to actually get a 'Swiss' movement anyway, so the clone is probably your sweet-spot.

Well, everyone here is going to tell you to just use a trusted dealer here, which is the best advice ... but I'll add this ... which should go without saying as well. Any site that uses pictures of a gen watch to sell replicas should be avoided at all costs.
-
No, it probably means that without something more to go on no one can really help you beyond the simple research you probably already did before posting your question. Without movement type and origin of the watch, you will get answers all over the map (or none, as you are currently experiencing). At the very least you should remove the caseback and see what kind of movement you have. If you can't tell, take a few pictures and post them and I'm sure someone will be able to identify it for you. If it's an asian 21j movement it's probably worth about $50, assuming it's in great shape. New, that version is $108 at most dealers. If it's a real Swiss ETA, then around $175-$200 in great shape since they can be bought new for around $260. This model is pretty much past it's prime as a rep, especially with the quality of the UPO, so you will probably have to price it agressively to move it. Just don't try to list it until you know for sure what you have.

I ordered mine w/o, and confirmed it with BK that it was available that way after seeing WM9's site list it only with the rehaut engraving.

Uh, no, they aren't. The new pictues just posted are of his rep, not a gen. You might want to take another look ...

That's a beautiful looking bag. I have been looking for a Keepall in the Damier Graphite (since the pattern ends up being more subtle), but that might just be a better option if it's available ... -
Those measurements were for the entire length. Both the minute and seconds hands appear to be a shade over 12mm from tip to center of hole, and the same length. The hour hand looks to be a shade over 8mm. Since I am using a ruler and my eyeballs the 'shade' probably isn't all that accurate, but I would guess just short of half a mm. Whether it's 'right' for the DJ, I don't know.
-
Hands arrived today. A quick measure and I have: Hour = 11mm Minute = 15mm Second = 17mm Sorry, but can't comment on the hole sizes. Also haven't tried fitting them to a 2824 yet. Hope this helps ...

My BCE and Ebel 1911 are both great.
-
Have you tried BK (BKLM1234) yet?
-
I'm not having a problem logging in, but the site has been very slow loading searches and individual threads for the past few days.

It took a long time for me to get the password reset email, but it did eventually show up. I actually requested it a second time before the first one showed up. Once getting through that stage, it's been fine for me.

I was told the gen Tudor Prince hands would be a direct fit to a 2824, so I bought a NOS set of them for my franken DateJust build. Don't have them in hand yet, but will update the thread when they arrive. Assuming they are correct, they can be found pretty inexpensively on the Bay. I paid $11 including shipping.

I haven't participated in a raffle here yet. I assume standard operating procedure is to publish everyone's number for all to view and to use some sort of public method to select the winning number. Have seen video of a random number generator, and also using published lottery numbers on other boards where I have participated. As long as the numbers are published in advance and the draw of the winning number isn't done in a manner that could be manipulated, then I have no problem with Admins participating. I think the person running the raffle should be excluded, but the rest of the Admins are OK with me.
