  1. My last order with Chris was last fall. I got an email the day after I paid letting me know he had received payment. I'm sure it was automated. Then got a tracking number when the item shipped. He had to source the watch for me so it took a while. I didn't hear anything in the interim. You might try the info at eurotimez88 dot com email address (if that's not the one you used). I got a prompt response to a question a few days ago. Make sure to include your order number.
  2. Can you share what the issues were? I have been contemplating building a 063 in a similar fashion. Thanks!

    IWC 3717

This pic came directly from IWC's website. Are you saying they are posting bad pics of their own watches?

    IWC 3717

I'm thinking it's a fake too .... hopefully I'm wrong though. Here's a picture of the gen ... from the IWC site. It also looks to me like perhaps the hour numbers are too thick also, but it could just be the angle of the picture.
  5. It would take a full out invasion of the US by a force large enough that the military couldn't handle it with their existing forces to get me to take up arms. Of course I am probably too old like jfreeman420 (hopefully not too fat though), so I'm guessing it would take that kind of an invasion before I was allowed to have a gun by the military. I would be willing to do whatever I could to support in any sized dispute on US soil behind the scenes if needed.
  6. I will date myself a bit here, but my first Rush concert was way back on the "All the World's a Stage" tour in 1977. I believe Angel opened up for them. God I feel old right now ...
  7. With suits I wear my Ebel most frequently, followed by my TAG Classic 2000 and occassionally my 3717.
  8. I'm not an expert by any means but the Schuhren looks like it is made from the same parts that can be bought from erkahund on eBay: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/erkahund Avitt built his own from erkahund's parts ... his was a seconds at six, but the seconds at nine dials are available and you would just need a different movement. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Custom-Homebuilt...ger-t82029.html erkahund also sells pre-built watches. I guess what I am saying is I'd go for the Steinhart if the prices are the same.
  9. In this particular home's case, it's not in a great neighborhood. Other homes in the area are also selling below $15,000, and a quick check online shows a few additional foreclosures in the area selling for cheap which is not a good sign. Judging by the pictures, it looks like someone was trying to rehab the house and flip it, and probably found it was just going to be too expensive to finish it off relative to what they were going to get for it if they could even sell it. The "as-is, where-is" clause is common on about to be forclosed, or bank owned properties. The fact that it is in the eBay listing is not a big red-flag in and of itself. The price and location are, however. If you have the cash, or are approved for a loan, then over the next six months will be a good time to buy here in the US. Buying a foreclosed house can be a good deal, but not all foreclosures are. You have to do your research. For example, I am condo shopping in Florida right now. I recently looked at a place that sold for $285k in 2004. At the peak of the market in 2005, similar units in the building were selling for about $350k. It's been foreclosed on, and is on the market now for $225k and my real estate agent friend said he thought it could be bought with an offer of $200k. Condo is in perfect shape and would be a great deal for someone who is going to own it for a while. There's another foreclosure in the complex of essentially the same floorplan which is listed at $285k. That one would be a bad deal at this point. I was looking for something on the water, so I didn't buy it, but there are deals like that all over the place if you look hard and have patience.
  10. One of my clients sports the IWC Portuguese 7 Day in Rose Gold (5001-01) on a regular basis.
  11. +1 on the Ebel ... but I've got the panda dial ...
  12. I followed you on the Discovery BT ... it's my only white dial now, but I do love the Explorer II and the VC Overseas ... and will probably end up with one or both soon.
  13. Wouldn't hurt to try The Zigmeister also. +1 on the you would be better off to get the handset from a low beat A7750.
  14. You post is a little confusing in the description of what's going on. What you are describing sort of sounds like the normal operation of a 7750. Just to be clear, on a 7750 movement the main seconds hand (that will run all the time) is the second hand in the subdial at 9 o'clock. The large second hand (center) only moves when you are using the chronograph.
  15. I have had several AD's offer me 25% off on TAG's and Omega's without my really even asking recently in the US. I think that I could have done better during the negotiations if I had actually wanted to purchase as everyone has seemed pretty anxious to make a sale. Cancun is a tourist location, so don't be afraid to walk away if you don't like the first offer.
  16. Speaker Pelosi has long been proving she is among the dumbest people in Congress ... and IMO, one of the most dangerous. Granted, this is nothing more than a slip ... I'm sure she meant thousands instead of millions. Still, you are correct, if Bush had said this it would have been blasted all over the media, and yet we've heard nary a mention by the media of this.
  17. If at first you don't succeed ... it probably didn't need doing anyway. If at first you don't succeed ... f*ck it ... go have a beer. If at first you don't succeed ... a woman probably gave you incorrect or incomplete instructions, or changed her mind halfway through the project.
  18. With all the great work you do for others, it's nice to see you take some time out for yourself ...
  19. +1 on the IWC Mark XVI and the 42mm UPO. I would buy both of those in a heartbeat. Also, give me a Rolex Explorer II, GMT Master, or a Seamaster GMT with a 2893 in it, and I would be a happy guy. I could go to DeBaufre, but I'd prefer one of the reps. I've had no luck with modified 2836's ... May have to start a franken project ...
  20. Every quartz watch I have owned has some sort of 'tell' that the battery is about dead. Most common I have seen is irractic 'ticking' like once every two seconds or three seconds. Haven't had a chrono though, but I would guess if it's not resetting properly that could be a 'tell' to get the battery changed.
  21. Also, most casino's have a jewelry/watch store in them. For example there is a very nice Rolex store in Wynn.
  22. Did someone say Vodka? Enjoy the Nikkor Lani ... Nikon truly makes the best SLR lenses.
  23. Tom Horn was at times a Bounty Hunter, Apache Scout, Pinkerton Detective, and worked for cattlemen as range detective. In the Spanish American War with the Rough Riders, he played a large role in the capture of Geronimo. Tom Horn was hung in Cheyenne Wyoming in 1903, having been convicted of killing Willie Nickell, the 14 year old son of a rancher. At the time, it was widely believed he was innocent, and in 1993, he was found not guilty in a re-trial.
