  1. I could go white or blue on the SFSO, if someone needs to correct their "mistake" let me know and I'll help out I guess this has happened a few times, I will get into a watch and then all of a sudden when I'm buying I
  2. Nice,, I will eventually have to get one of these, or a really good rep. For a small watch it always seems larger on the wrist when I see people wearing it.
  3. Thanks!, I had a bit too much wine last night and fell asleep with it on, I still can't stop staring at it. I keep thinking I've seen something like it somewhere else, but can't place it. I have some blue Breget hands coming soon, so I will at least give it a try. The only thing is that with a skeleton the hands can be tricky. My method is to actually file down the small edge on the minute hand (right below the hole there is a small extension to give the hand more support on the pin). The problem is that this extension creates extra space that lets the hour wheel move if the watch is upside down. I file this off and put the minute hand lower so it holds it down. I don't have it perfected and I've messed up a few pairs of hands, I would really hate to distroy a nice blued set of breget hands, but I'll at least see what it looks like. I might also just use some basic black hands without lum. Thanks, yes, the movement is from tourby but I got it a while ago. I bet a skeleton PVD movement would look pretty good with this case.
  4. I picked up this PVD case from Tourby (thanks) and actually had it set for another project, but had some time so I thought I'd toss in my skeleton movement. Instantly, I thought this was a great match. I think having the polished finish lets this work with the movement and the hands, which are more sport than dress. Anyway, let me know what you think
  5. There is an old Zen story I remember where a crippled man crawled in to see the priest elders, they all laughed as the man slowly came in the room while the man himself also began to laugh. One of the priest asked
  6. Great collection,,,,,,,,,,,,,if we could only find a cure for this obsession.......
  7. Thanks for the pictures,,,this really looks to be a great rep. Has to be one of the top ten reps out there of all time? I have to pick one up just to see it in person.
  8. I'm looking forward to some pics, I was interested in this one myself. Looked good on the bracelet also, did you get the bracelet too?
  9. Nice work,,,,,In particular I like the hands,,,very original.
  10. Absolutely incredible,,,IMO, that would make the ultimate skeleton watch. I know there are more complex skeletons but this would have to be one of the nicest out there. I may have to toss some of my collection into the trash, as I
  11. Everyone is well aware of the quality control problems with reps. Statistically speaking, there will be a few really unlucky people out there that will get one bad one after another just due to chance while a few others will have one perfect one after another. I guess I sympathize with the frustrations of the first group. For some very similar reasons, I was turned off a while myself, but then after a break something kicked in again and ordered a few interesting things two weeks ago. Who knows,
  12. The nicest custom piece I've seen on any forum, very impressive. What did the front of the movement look like? I like the dial but could you have went totally skeletonized?
  13. This reminded me of that video a while back with two guys in the trailer park trying to put a nail into a panerai rep, except these guys have more money. In both cases, I can't understand the idea of destroying a watch. Doesn
  14. The steelfish is still on my list....I can't remember one negative post about it so far.
  15. This weekend is a 44mm Epos which I "blinged out" a bit by putting some other watches in the background.
  16. I have a 26mm orange velcro I literally couldn't give away here on the forum. I even offered to pay for shipping (lol). Anyway, they are fine and confortable, but it my case it was too small.
  17. The sammy's are great for mods also. Here is mine with a white face (I got it for about 120 USD) and put on some green and white divers hands.
  18. It's the 6r15 called "the sumo", 45mm with a hack and manual wind features. I really like it, got it for about 400 (usd) and put it on a watchadoo bracelet.
  19. no doubt gens have their problems also,,,,,,,however I do think the type of problem differs. As far as I know, I've never heard of treads stripping on a gen, or crystals exploding. Both definately have their issues, but it was the rate of problems in reps that I couldn't personally handle. However, after a long break I picked up 007 PO, so we'll see.
  20. Well,,,,my advice would be to fly. I've got to have the worst fear of flying. I didn't fly till I was 20 and since then I've had two emergency landings and at least 10 bad flights, but my 3 year old has already had four flights and loves to fly. I really don't like to fly but worth it to see my daughter actually enjoy flying. I guess my theory is get them flying early and they will actually enjoy it.
  21. I'm no expert but will give you my take on this. First, on some of these models there is a gap between the crown and case, you might be able to fix it by taking a little off the stem but my guess is that it is just the way the crown sits on the case tube. As far as the crown guard being loose, the only way I know to fix this is by taking off the guard and taking a bit off, via dremel, so that it sits closer to the case. I've done this a few times, it should be slow work so you don't go too far and must be even or you will see a gap between the guard and case.
  22. Nice find, the Oris bracelet has to be one of the best out there.
  23. Not a problem....
  24. Thanks,,,,,,I looked for a Doxa for a month or so,,,,,got one and it's very nice.....the actuall orange dial is the best of the four I have ....
  25. Interesting how informative pictures without narrative are
