I would be happy... Especially not having any idea what movement's inside.

Who has the best Jubilee REP bracelet for mens Datejust ?
kbh replied to CLA82's topic in The Rolex Area
There's an eBay seller that I've bought a few from. He's got particularly good fully plated two tone Jubilees. Good English and easy to deal with. You can use e mail and not eBay if you want. riyi002@sina.com -
Interesting. I've owned 3804B's and they seem like decent movements. In fact better than the modified 2836-2 clone GMT movements. But I didn't know about DG2813 GMT movements. They sound like they might be similar to the 2836 GMT's with a couple of extra gears stuck on the front to convert them from 3 to 4 hand.
-
3804B is a GMT movement and the DG2813 is obviously not. Other than that without pictures of the two movements it's hard to know what the question is.

I'm thinking you should probably stick with quartz watches.

You actually fell for the total crap on their web site? "Reps from Switzerland with 3135 31 jewel movements, just like gen. 1:1, indistinguishable from gen". Ouch! Glad you got your money back. The whole idea is to make you wait more than 45 days.

Chris, CLS Watch repair, is in LA area, near AltaDena. He's currently a Trusted Modder (or whatever they are called) at RepGeek. He's done a couple of repairs for me and every thing went well. clswatch@me.com

This reminds me so much of when I was a moderator over on the other RWG when Joey got banned. He's like a friggin' bull dog that bites and just wont let go, no matter how senseless it gets.

Seems strange nobody's mentioned that they had to drop the movement down from 28.8 bps to 24.6 (or was it 21.x??) because the co-axial couldn't' take the higher beat rate. Easier, I guess to make it run slower so it would last longer.

Don't get too excited about the price. That's what they always say on J & A sites when they are first posting them. Other than that, Blech!

I agree. I think it's just the light not reflecting off the symbol due to the angle.

I thought it was Wang.

Sad story about one of our long term seniors...mikellem
kbh replied to KB's topic in General Discussion
I was at City of Hope last year visiting with my wife. Unfortunately my brother in law passed away from cancer while receiving treatment there. It's a wonderful place and I hope that Mike does well. From what I've heard they are making great strides in curing many types of cancer, including MM. Best wishes to him. -
I was going to do that until I realized that the holes on one are horizontal and the others are vertical. I chickened out figuring I'd likely make a mess of a brand new dial and there wasn't really much difference anyway when you looked at them both together.
-
Other than the lugs, it just looks the same as a dozen other ones. A $500 watch with a $150 movement that they'll sell for $6000. I just don't get it.
-
Freddy, he states it's an ETA, not a 21j. See item #8 and use an appropriate sized screwdriver. 1.2mm I believe. Item #1 is the stem, for reference.
-
Plus, the 2824-2 doesn't have a stem retaining screw.

MD2020 Who is dealing with him, I'm worried now!
kbh replied to sgtguk's topic in General Discussion
No offense but I don't think the mods are going to shut down a thread because it annoys you. This is of interest not only to the people directly involved but also to the many members that were, or are, thinking about using his services in the future. -

Is This SOP For Josh At Perfect Clones?
kbh replied to Reverse Cosmosis's topic in General Discussion
That's normal. You have to pretend to buy something legal so people don't screw up his PP account. That's how I paid my last order. -
Looks great. Does anyone know where Matt found the hand set with long tubes? I've looked in the past and never had any luck. Maybe Matt could answer if he sees this.
-
I wouldn't waste any time or money on trying to resurrect that one. For a little over $100 you can buy a much, much better one. I'm not sure what you're asking about the case being 100% based on the clicking mechanism. Your case is definitely 100% not correct in many ways including the clicking mechanism. Also, ETA is the largest manufacturer of Swiss movements and supply the higher quality rep movements. Although the higher quality rep movements are generally the lowest quality ETA movements made.

MD2020 Who is dealing with him, I'm worried now!
kbh replied to sgtguk's topic in General Discussion
Please! Lets not make him out to be a hero. Reality check is Mike brought this all on himself. He should be apologizing to his customers and then we can all move one. Instead, we're now going to vilify the people that had absolutely horrible customer service. I'm sure Mike's a great guy and I'm happy for all the good work he's done. But let's get at least a little mea culpa and maybe the people that got absolutely horrible service can move on. This whole nonsense is about taking care of customers properly and nobody seems to realize it. And, yes, he did pretty much tell all the forum members to F off! -

Thank you for the third least awesome post in this thread. As a "pretentious, privileged diatribe", I've found this most thread most interesting. How much $$ did you have involved? Zero? Thought so! I don't have to worry about MD blacklisting me cause I'd just as soon throw my watch away. Maybe him and RBJ should get together and give each other lessons on watch smithing.
