  1. This got me nervous so I went ahead and dropped it into the GMTIIC case and with the movement spacer it indeed does line up perfectly. I'm currently waiting for the hand set to arrive. It appears that it shouldn't be a problem at all to swap out the movements.
  2. Looks real to me. Pearl looks good. Put it next to a replica insert and you should be able to notice the paint finish is significantly shinier and smoother under magnification.
  3. That's the one I have. The only complaint I have is knowing how rare that dial is in the gen makes me feel a little pretentious wearing it. Here's a couple pix with the two different bezels which really ads some versatility to the look.
  4. Clark Watch Parts is currently off line. Gary's recovering from surgery.
  5. I agree with Alligoat. Stay away from that movement. You're paying way too much for something that is of questionable reliability and you'll never see anyway. Plus the $108 Noobmariner is a better rep. If you want to spend more and get the best contact BK in his section here and order the WM9 version from him. It's far and away one of the best reps you can buy. Beginmariner
  6. And I thought Panerai collectors were a crazy bunch.
  7. This is it for the whole week.
  8. I believe that most of the owners that say their CHS is still running are those that don't use the GMT function and don't care if the GMT hand actually tracks the time. Mine was working fine except the GMT function lost a couple hours a day and it drove me crazy. Two trips for service and it still didn't function properly so I took the movement out and put in a cheap 21j. I'm currently waiting for a 2893-2 to swap again. CHS never again!
  9. (i) The OP overestimates his own importance, I think. (ii) Is there anybody left in the world that doesn't know that Dave Barry wrote that? It's been around the Internet for years.
  10. Don't get your panties in a knot. It was posted originally on the other RWG on February 22. Quite a bit before your post.
  11. WM9 has a very distinct case back compared to my other 2 subs. The lip on the case back where the case back meets the case on the WM9 is approx 1/2mm and on the others it's approx 1mm. From what you can see in the pictures I'd go with it's a WM9 case. Also as mentioned, the fit on the SEL is terrible.
  12. I think both he and I were talking about the bezel, not the ceramic insert.
  13. I spent hours trying to get the bezel off a DSSD. I never could figure it out but it sure didn't want to pry off. Good luck.
  14. On a 1665 you put on the piece that holds the crystal on first. It should be good and tight. The bezel and spring snap down over that.
  15. Phong is ND Trading and JewelryandWatch. David is DW cases. DW sells on eBay and Ioffer.
  16. Sounds like you might have two options. Take the movement out and try to reset the hands. If the hands are still not moving and the watch is ticking I would imagine a gear must be stripped inside. Your cheapest solution would probably be to just replace the whole movement.
  17. The chrono functions on that model are fake.
  18. You asked for a service., not a pressure test. That's the going rate for a service on a movement with him probably.
  19. The forums have been very frustrating lately. Too many scams. Too many problems. Too much rudeness. And I agree, when someone asks you to go out of your way for them, they should at least have the common courtesy of saying thank you. I almost dread the thought of trying to sell a watch anymore. I mean, come on, we're selling used replicas, not showroom fresh gens. Yet that's what people seem to expect. And yes, the majority of the probles seem to be caused by noobs. In the last couple of weeks I've been starting my own little "Do not deal with" list.
  20. You going to PM us with the PP details? I'm ready!
  21. Check out the Rolex 5100. The movement was made by a consortium of several watch companies back in the 70's I believe.
  22. I'd go with the second one, The Swiss Eta. That's the exact same first watch I ever bought since playing with reps and it's still my favorite. I'm still wearing it almost every day. I've also heard problems with the clone with the fake Rolex bridges. I'd stay away from that one.
