  1. "Two tones ( just talkin bracelets) are for those who know nothing of watches, mobsters, clueless, and those who lack fashion sense." That's little harsh!
  2. The 1680 I got from Josh looks just like that. I replaced the crystal (which was cracked around the base) with a Clark's and it was a perfect fit. I did use a small amount of crystal adhesive and it passes a 3 atmosphere pressure test.
  3. I doubt you'd ever see the jeweled version of the reversing gear in a rep (last picture). They are considerably more expensive than non jeweled ones.
  4. Canon pinion tightening tool.
  5. A $600 SERVICE????
  6. Every time I've seen that I just want to take a movement apart. They make it look so easy.
  7. Two beauties for sure.

They're both great looking watches. You're making me want one. Couldn't you take the guts out of a cartel model and put it directly into a DW 7750 case? That would certainly interest me. Also, I assume the bezels aren't interchangeable on your two watches?

  10. That makes sense. If there's a rep Day Date, then there's obviously a correct date wheel overlay for it.
  11. I've never seen a Day Date franken. I would think Lining up the day window on a gen dial would be difficult to accomplish with an overlay. Even if there was one available. Has it ever been done?
  12. Seconds @ 12 movement? Too much friction in the gears.
  13. 3 feedback as seller. 222 as buyer.
  14. I just happen to know who the seller is. I'll leave it up to jsuperman17 as to whether he wants to out the guy. I will say that I also know the seller has not been at all responsive to pm's or e-mails for over a week.
  15. You guys can be pretty hard on a guy that's worried about losing a sizable amount of money. The seller here has 7 posts of which I believe all are in his two sales threads. Currently he has a %410 Pam also for sale. Admin ought to be all over this before someone buys this guys other watch and ends up screwed for $410.
  16. I owned a vintage 1965 Ferrari 330GT 2+2 for quite a while. I bought it used in about 1980 for $10,000 and watched the prices soar during the nineties. When my model was selling for around $100,000 I put it up for sale. Turns out this was the exact time that the used Ferrari market was crashing. I followed it down, lowering my price month after month down to $50,000 and never sold it. About 15 years later I ended up selling it for $15,000. Yes, it could happen to Rolexes and all the old mechanical watches when they go out of style once again.
  17. Better you should take out the bezel insert and file it down. It will then sit properly and the crystal height will appear higher.
  18. 571 on DW:
  19. Here's what I found on a Rolex forum listed as proper for the 6263/6265: Bracelets: 7205 7835 78350 End links: 71 71H 371 571 ------------------------------ 557 end links: 70's - 80's perpetual date and Air King models. I have a set of 557 and they don't fit very well on my DW case.
  20. Nothing better than living in South Florida during the Miami Vice era. The TT Datejust was the drug dealer's watch of choice.
  21. So how many went and looked at their vintage Rolex to check?
  22. On RWI, Trailboss is doing a comparison of most of the Subs currently available and he's confirmed that the Noobmariner from TS is indeed the same as Narikaa and everyone else is currently selling. It's correct that the rehaut engraving is not lined up correctly but that's the price you pay for a very nice yet cheap Sub. I bought one for parts since they were so cheap. It's a very nice watch.
  23. BKLM1234 sells them. Also Timeshops has them on sale now but I don't think they're are on the dealer list here.
  24. I personally don't have much faith in this part: SPECIAL MODIFICATIONS DONE - *The Additional USD120 Difference Explained* This "PERFECT" Submariner is specially sent for FULL SERVICE whereby the entire movement is completely overhauled, reassembled, serviced and re-lubricated with Swiss imported lubricants and the timing calibration adjusted to +/- 5 seconds per day (COSC Standards) Additional Seals and gaskets are added and watch is pressure tested to 5 bars and tested to 45m waterproof All of the above works are carried out by Swiss Trained Technicians **Above EXTRA works will cost about USD150-USD250 elsewhere Other than that it's a nice Sub. It just needs a new pearl.
  25. Another noob cherry is broken. It brings back great memories.
