  1. That depends on the ceramic. Ceramic is dried mud, and the type of mud determines what the finished product will be like. For instance, pottery is ceramic and I doubt anyone would suggest that a terracotta pot would be unscratchable. Therefore, the quality of ceramic used in the J12 reps could, for all I know, be variable.
  2. Of all my watches, I've had one arrive defective, and that was a threaded screw on a 183. All other watches arrived perfect (unless I've forgotten some tale of woe). However, several watches have developed problems within their first week or so, or have issues that went undetected for a week. Does that count?
  3. Maggie Thatcher, at a guess.
  4. I understand this and am in Rolex today too. I'm GMTing it, seeing as I've had a few enquiries about the watch in the last few days: Excuse the out-of-date wristshot, it's actually in SS today.
  5. You're pasting links: URL tags instead of IMG tags. Here's how it should look: [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kurt1/NewMega017.jpg] [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kurt1/NewMega016.jpg] [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kurt1/NewMega003.jpg] [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kurt1/NewMega012.jpg] [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kurt1/NewMega011.jpg] [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kurt1/NewMega008.jpg] [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kurt1/NewMega009.jpg] [img=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Kurt1/NewMega019.jpg] Which gives you ...
  6. Hmm ... I've been deliberating this, and I reckon it's not a free market. When you're dealing in counterfeit goods, you can hardly call it free. This on top of the fact that there are no working free markets in the world kinda makes me believe the whole "It's a free market" statement is a myth.
  7. I got this ETA 2836-2 version from Silix Prime for $150 in March:
  8. Edited posts: Well, they've been edited so you'll not find what they started like. This one, for instance: "This post has been edited by 00-Aspire eshop: Jun 2 2006, 07:37 AM" You'll have to take my word for it that it had an ETA IWC Aquatimer picture and a low price (I seem to remember it being $79 or so) printed on it. When you tried to buy the $79 watch, it jumped to $149. As for my being ripped off, I've never bought anything off Paul. My passionate crusade comes from the number of people that have been ripped off that get forgotten. This forum can be too forgiving at times, and I don't want to see Paul get away with his cheating tricks. We're supposed to be protecting people from being scammed here, and that's what I believe I'm doing. Oh, and let's not forget his ETA-2892 movements that turned out to be Seagull movements.
  9. Too much noise-reduction has hidden the wavy pattern. It's there, but unsharp-masked away.
  10. I've compared a Co-Axial PO with a non-co-axial and it's damned smooth, but the beat-rate is noticably slower. For those ofyou who don't know what we're on about, Asian 21j are 21600vph, Co-Axials are 25200vph and ETA-2836 are 28800vph.
  11. Not fish ... Snake! Sorry, Blade Runner moment. Not photo ... Scan! That's a watch put on a scanner by the look of things. The Scanner is scanning from right to left and stopped when the hand was pointing at 9 or so. This will make the second hand look bent and will show a jump from 9 to 10 towards the tip.
  12. Yes, he really does take excellent pics. As for underwater housing for the FZ20/30, I've not used one, but there are apparently 3 that work: Digideep's list for the FZ20
  13. That's a G model, if I'm not mistaken. Looks good, but I prefer the H. ps. Great pics.
  14. Normally, it's considered good form to post a link to the scam at the same time as the description.
  15. Great watch. Very unusual and original. What's equally impressive is how your picture-taking is advancing as well. Great pics!
  16. Thanks for the threadcrap. It's appreciated.
  17. My brother has one of them. They're good. Me? I got me the RAZR v3i with iTunes. Does the job.
  18. Then he'll return saying how many hits he gets on his site and how much he doesn't need us, change his name to Chris and open two more websites with a bait-and-switch spam campaign, bribe us for good reviews and invent some oriental babe called [censored] as his pseudo-shill. Oh, and a CARSY SALE
  19. Ubi uses the bracelet from the Noobmariner as the basis for his FrankenSub, It's that good. That and the dial.
  20. The Noobmariner is TTK's Sub. It's like asking if McDonalds sell a Whopper: Sure, they can sell something identical, but it'd not be a whopper.
  21. Or members of a broader collection.
  22. In World War 2, the Nazis looted the homes of rich Jews, stealing their artwork and valuables. The Swiss, being the bankers for the Nazis, received all the art/loot and stored it. When the Nazis stared trying to say they didn't steal anything, the Swiss Banks just sat on the art and claimed it as their own. ... or so the tales go.
  23. As always, TTK comes out with some amazing shots and rekindles my interest in the grey one. Now, let's get the Noobmariner LV first and see what happens, eh?
  24. Excellent update of a living document.
