  1. The colour was the subject of many a long debate with no real outcome, i personaly think it is just decoration.
  2. I regularly attend formal dinners as a matter of duty (Military) We wear the military equivalent of a dinner jacket with miniature medals, the rules that we follow on these occasions are hundreds of years old. Many of the members wear a pocket watch as have i in the past. Now i tend to wear my omega Aqua terra on brown leather or IWC porto chrono also on brown leather (i know it does not match the shoes) but many members just wear the same watch that the have for work, G Shocks and the like and it looks terrible. I would never wear my fiddy as it will not fit the French cuffs of my shirt nor would i wear my rail master as the SS band would not look right. But you know what does look good? My wife in a long dress and my fiddy with a dark strap for a dark dress and her 217 on an orange Bob with a light dress!

  4. Question is do you know why we all know it is a rep at the first look?
  5. I was at the AD the other day and he had one with a cream/champane sort of dial, it was sat next toa whit chronomat (i think but it was white) and you could definatly see the difference in colour, any one else seen this one??????

  16. Yes you are right what is to stop a dealer returning under a new name, nothing but the will have to rebuild his business from the ground up, create a customer base and learn to post again, That is hard work, new dealers are dealt with suspician and an early f%%k up could result in an early sending off. If they do try to return the will have to sort the problems, if the reoccor ban the dealer what ever name he uses. managed to double post this one with the edit some how sorry

  20. This sounds good to me too, but it would not help in the issue of the cartel and price fixing dont like nesebakkar s answer though, not realy very constructive if you ask me.
  21. Or you could say not in the slightest bit like a 2892 except the beat!!! (Unless it was a seagul ST18)( i think there great if you had not noticed)
  22. @ Rob S, of course you have a right to coment, that is what a forum is for, and i am glad to hear that you are will ing to learn from others mistakes and experience, welcome! Jomama did his research and bought a watch that he knew to be misrepresented but bought it with open eyes, after finding out that the movement (seagul) was not as bad as others have quoted it to be, I on the other hand bought one beliving it to be a gen ETA, yes i was miffed, as it turns out that movemnt has stood the test of time and is still performing its duties well, even after swimming, riding a harley (that has shaken more than one movement apart) Since the little white lies thread i have not orderd any watches as i am waiting for something to come along and i know who i am buying it from! Like we say First chose you dealer. I would like to think that people will take care in selecting their next dealer bearing in mind the past couple of months and a few long threads.
  23. The only thing my wife does not do is iron my uniform, I know i am a VERY lucky man.
