  1. Nice post but hurry up With those pics. They can't be worse than mine!
  2. A point on the movements you are all discussing. The hacking lever for a 2836/ 2824 can be retro fitted to a 2846. But the date wheels are not compatible between 2824 and 2846 you would need a DW from a 2836 due to the height as both the 36 and 46 were destined as day date movements an have the teeth of the DWs are set lower than the printed area of the DW.
  3. A bit of work to do there though remove the seconds pinion at 9, the hour counter (well that is not work you just don't refit it after cleaning, same as the min counter) make sure you get the tilting pinion right and you will have a smooth sweep. Why not! sounds like a good use for a 7750. Looking forward to seeing the results.
  4. I don't think I have ever seen a rep dial dune that way and that is a a big fault that could be easily fixed. Shame a a red sub would be a great birth year watch for me
  5. Some times the folding parts to the deployant need a little teasing and bending to get the clasp to work better Can you post another photo with the parts folded?
  6. Hmm fathers day looks like I missed that one. May need to remind my daughter about it

  10. Why would a 16660 have a 702 crown fitted???? http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1339704932/FS-+Rolex+transitional+sea-dweller+ref-+16660+with+matte+dial+and+bonus+caseback i thought that 703s were fitted before the 1665 series ended
  11. I have not heard any thing about one
  12. A service on a mechanical movement involves a complete strip down of every part, cleaning, reassembly and oiling with the correct oils, this movement being modified makes it more difficult, but if he can properly service a 7750 then he should be able to do this.
  13. This is a story about the bond formed between a little girl and a group of building workers. It's might help to confirm your belief in the goodness of people and that there is hope for the human race.................... A young family moved into a house next door to an empty plot. One day, a gang of building workers turned up to start building on the plot. The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and started talking with the workers. She hung around and eventually the builders, all with hearts of gold, more or less adopted the little girl as a sort of project mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had tea and lunch-breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important. They even gave the child her very own hard hat and gloves, which thrilled her immensely. At the end of the first week, the smiling builders presented her with a pay envelope - containing two pounds in 10p coins. The little girl took her “pay” home to her mum who suggested that they take the money to the bank the next day to open a savings account. At the bank, the female cashier was tickled pink listening to the little girl telling her about her “work” on the building site and the fact she had a “pay packet”. 'You must have worked very hard to earn all this', said the cashier. The little girl proudly replied, 'Yes, I worked every day with Steve and Tony and Mike. We're building a big house.' 'My goodness gracious,' said the cashier, 'And will you be working on the house again next week?' The child thought for a moment. Then she said seriously: 'I think so. Provided those cunts at Travis deliver the fucking bricks on time.....
  14. I managed to find some swiss 2892s with the correct closed canon pins that should be perfect for ROs with out the seconds hand as it will get rid of that silly cap that is there from the factory, and should also be a direct swap for any with 2824s fitted, swap the DW over and the stem and it should fit right in! If there is intests i can see how many i can find, but i only have two right now, basicly they are NOS with hamilton rotors, Any interest
  15. That is correct dlc(diamond like coating) is very hard to damage. There are knives coated on one side that the steel is then sharpened almost away leaving basically the dlc as the super sharp edge
  16. That is a real PITA, and harder on the asian than on the swiss, you can put a small bit of rodico to hold it all in place on the end of the clutch arm
