  1. I was "in on" the 1665 thread. I don't want to speak for Kukuruz - but I guess he didn't have enough "on" the guy to speak publically but just sensed a few things didn't add up. His approach to trying to by cc33's watch seemed rushed and off-norm to me too - but some people are just different so you just hope that's all it is. Looks like he may be different in a bad kind of way unfortunately.... hope you get the funds back OP - even if you do have toomuchgear.
  2. Guilty. These are indeed NOS. I just wanted to offer these at the lowest possible price and thought saying they were REPS would make it more believable. Darn you're good! I'm not sure about their use as LHD devices. I know this is a task people have been trying to solve for year and LHD is a hard thing to achieve. But, I've personally used these for FDE (Floppy Disc Ejection) back in the day, so I could see how they might just work.
  3. And another thing, do they have the correct serial nos? Yes, they do (if that's soemthing you want), but the print is so fine I doubt you will EVER be able to read it... and... if you were hoping they DON'T have serial numbers, then no, they don't.
  4. FYI, the PC MUT that I am selling is NOT the BK version. I considered these but found the quality substandard. These are the OD version (OD as in Office Depot). Some are convinced these are Chinese in origin, but I am not so sure as it's very hard to distinquish a GEN Swiss and REP Chinese MUTs. (I understand the difference between the two are not insignificant - i.e., it's not a MUT point - but the fact remains they may have identical labeling on the outside).
  5. Like em th a lot!
  6. very very nice! BTW - you custome made your case. That's nice work right there!
  7. I've never had the Zig fo a thing for me, but all of his posts make it clear he knows his do from his do.
  8. Save for a few months and get yourself an Omega AT (I prefer the black version on a bracelet... I bought, sold, bought about 5 of them... I kid you not.... will probably get another down the line). They're comfortable, look great, are gen Omeaga and can be had for 1400-1500... and if you don't mind the Quartz version which looks the same but for the tick-tick you can get it for 1K or so... look for used ones on TZ or WUS. Cheers.
  9. That's precisely why I'm thinking of slimming down my rep collection. The costs are quite high for a full time manual wind!
  10. Nice Rep Walther too. Think you need to thin the safety just a hair though.
  11. Yes, knew the Briet was fakey - just didn' t know what model. MOST INTERESTED in knowing if the Omega is gen or fakey... don't wanna misrepresent... and frankly might not want to sell if gen. Other O-perts?
  12. Great for tooth whitening too
  13. Yeah, always loved that watch. Also love it's Japanese namesake - the Grand Seiko SBGM001
  14. Luv the caseback, luv the dial, luv the deep bezel teeth... good for you! Enjoy her.
  15. I'll need to measure but think the Breitling in 22.
  16. OK, I'm going through my watch box for the Jag-in-the-Box auction and have a few parts I don't know about (tip - NEVER keep your gen and rep stuff together ... ) Anyhoooo, help me identify these puppies: 1. I only have 1 Rep Speedy now - but I've had many gens. Sadly (stupidly) sold em all. But, I have 2 Speedy straps in the box. One goes with my Rep Day/Date Reto - but this one... I don' t know. Does it look rep or not? Thanks 2. I know I have one ETA white on black day/date set for the auction (from a 3717) but haven't a clue where this came from and if it's ETA or Rep. Experts? 3. Anyone know what Breitling this bracelet goes to? I know it's not the Evo but what?
  17. I've been loosely hoovering in and around RWG for a few years (was more on RWI before and now hoover there). I just VIPed here - but this kind of post from the ZIg makes me say, "I have no idea who you are, but man you sknow your watch stuff. Definitely like the idea of you working on my wrist-art." As others have said, thanks for taking the time to share your insights with the rest of us. Photos don't get taken and cropped by themselves... a real service to our community Zig!
  18. gasebah, on 23 August 2012 - 02:56 PM, said: Frankly I don't buy into what is said here. "A passion for classic mechanical machines"? With an Asian 21-J movement faking a Patek? "not about status"? Why dont people buy an original Seagull Tourbillon instead of a Rolex fake? If we are honest a lot of the fascination actually comes form the brand. And the brand has a lot to do with its proclaimed status and lifestyle. I used to think this way Gasebah, and this is no doubt true for some - but I think the rep community wears what it does for deeper reasons too. For example, I could wear a Seagull Tourbillon instead of a Rolex - but my doing so many not be about the prestige I think I'll get from others, but from the fact that ONE reason the Rolex has become as popular as it has (or Omega or ...) is because the design and layout of their watches work better visually. So, Sea-gull (the dash is odd by corrrect for them) isn't as repped or sought after as much by either gen or rep community BECAUSE it has less status, but also because their design team simply hasn't put forth as appealing a product. I DO want a Tourbillon and the Sea-gull is the only one I'll ever afford, but as neat as that is - a 42 PO still looks better. Now, sprinkle all of that with a healthy does of "status" and it's ready to eat. p.s. I say this as a rep and gen wearer. I've driven a 2003 Corolloa worth 8K while wearing a gen JLC Chorno worth the same. Who'd think it was gen... I don't care. When I drive a nicer car and have my TC sub on, who thinks it's gen... I don't care. Either way.... I tell em' they're gens (just kiddin on that one ...
  19. Wondering if TC's 16610 will take the following: 16808 / 16813 DIAL Mathing Gen INSERT and HANDS was thinkning of doing a mod TIA.
  20. I know there's a WTB section but I thought I'd ask in this area becasue this is where all the IWC folk go. I'm in need of a nice 3717 bracelet. Anyone got an extra in good shape. Tired of using me 3717 as a pocket watch

  21. Looking to nab one. If you got an extra let me know. TIA.
  22. Anybody got a good spare lying around? I think I screwed up my existing case and need a replacement.
  23. THanks for the reply. I wish that were my only problem. The watch is great and the threads are fine - but this one screw kept coming loose so i made the mistake of loctite-ing it. Now,I want to try something to loosen it (heat didn't work- whic is usually recommended) but I want to make sure the screw/lug hole doesn't go into the cavity for the movement itself. I already purchased Panatines lug/screw set to use - just want to get that darn screw out. Anyone know the answer? TIA
  24. I've got a lug screw that doesn't want to come out on my 210. I'm wondering if the lug screw holes access the cavity for the movement itself or only "L" shape out for the lug itself. Information from those who know would be most helpful. TIA.
  25. If no one has come thru on the railmaster I'll take it . Let me know. Email is jtiis@yahoo.com
