  1. Them Gen tropics make all the difference....
  2. lol... I thought the best would be the 005
  3. I tried this app... the mainstream (both ETA & Asian) 6497, 2836, 2892, 2893 fared very well +/- 10s in general. One of my sf240s had a -7 secs per day, the other was quite bad at -80s per day. So i guess its pretty accurate. FWIW....
  4. A nifty little app for Coolfire
  5. Me thinks Ubi built a pre DW 7032... But then again, it's Ubi, nothing surprising there

    My Daytos

Come on M. Share the spoils why don't you. I need a VJ72 dial as well....lol
  7. Food and Beverages. Heard he starting a restaurant or something to that extent...
  8. Yup. I think we are seeing the end of DW's era in reps. Me heard he's going into the F&B business. Unless the cartels develop an interest in manufacturing a good 62xx, the days of a decently priced 62xx are fast coming to an end.
  9. Thanks for the kind comments guys esp to alligoat and M for posting the picture. The following factors were taken into consideration b4 I decided on this combo. 1. I didn't want an oyster case because it would have been too similiar to the Tudor MC which I already have. The fact that the 6238/6241 uses a cheaper gen 6mm twinlock made the decision easier. (hey.... what can I say, you save where you can). The 6241 would also be using the pastic bezel, different from the steel bezel of the Tudor MC. 2. The black plastic bezel also made the watch looks bigger. AT least that what I thought so. This is impt for me because this watch would be the smallest watch in my collection. Even smaller than the MC. 3. Of all of DW's dial, I like the albino dial best but the DAYTONA above the hour totaliser sort of defeats the understated look of the watch. Makes it a bit loud. If that's even possible for a vntage daytona. 4. The black subdial masks the different construction of a gen and rep dial. The non "dish" effect of a DW dial is masked better with a black subdial. The silver background also provides an illusion that masks the subdial spacing better. (again, some justification on my part not to go the gen dial route). Knowing that such a combo existed is a bonus, definitely . I thought the 6241 came only with the smaller Daytona words. I guess the bezels were interchangeable and Rolex weren't to A N A L back then. All well that ends well... Thanks for looking.
  10. DW kit with the normal Spinmaster upgrade kit (gen crystal, crown and tube). The hollow midlink rep 78350 and rep 571 endlink that came with the kit is surprisngly good, the clasp is on the other hand is an epic fail. At least from my untrained and novice eyes.
  11. I have always had access to DW's vintage daytonas. I mean, being 15 mins drive away from Spinmaster, I always hear discussions on DW's latest offerings, DW's latest batch of cases, DW's inconsistency etc, etc....but seriously, those watches are rather puny... design's rather dated (that's what I thought then). What's the big hoohaa? I finally took the plunge about a month back and I realised what an idiot I have been for the last 3 years.... This is a fantasy combination, I have not seen a gen with this dial / bezel combination but I insisted because it's just pure sex, baby...
  12. Keep up the fight Cats. Thoughts and prayers are with you...
  13. I seriously doubt they'll be able to get the blue right....
  14. Me no likey Mondays.... but this helps a little
  15. I have always liked the look of the APs especially the Don Ramon but .......
  16. WOW WOW WOW....Thanks for the effort in documenting the process.
  17. Perfectly executed. The 202A is perhaps my favorite Panerai. A perfectly balanced watch.
  18. DW parts varies as he gets them from several factories. Therein lies the problem when dealing with him directly. If you go through Spinmaster, he ensures that you get the right parts. I know for a fact that Spinny has sent whole shipments back to DW due to QC issues. But that does not take away the fact that DW's pricepoint is much more favorable than others in the vintage rollie scene. I hope this is a temporary vacation as his 7032 MC project introduced me to the vintage world.
  19. You are 3/4 way through the scene. Once you go vintage, there really is no hope. No worries, we could all use another addict.
