Graham Chronofighter Oversize White Dial - Pics
SubFrog replied to subzero1's topic in Other Brands Area
Man, I am stoked to see these watches make a return to the scene...they were gone for the longest time. Great pictorial! -
OK, I'm not a newer member here...by a long shot...but, I did want to chime in with what this place means to me. I was a supporter here and in an earlier forum for a long time, but have been unable to use my PayPal account for another long while now. Plus, my finances have been a little rough lately as far as credit, etc. Anyhow...here's my George Costanza vs. SS Andrea Doria story: Prior to Hurricane Katrina, I was on here all the time and I met many staples of this forum which turned into some very cool online relationships. The reason I came here is because of my long standing love of watches. My father taught me a few things in life about a real watch. He owns quite a few Gens that he, one day, will hand down to me. We've been to watch auctions together and it was always exciting to see what you can walk away with for the right price. I was never able to afford the watches like he owned, but I realized that there were alternatives. So, in my search online, I stumbled upon RW1 and other forums. Thank goodness I found these places as I'd probably be scammed out of a ton of cash...well, a ton for me would probably be something else to another person. My addiction was started...and it continues today. Then, at the end of August, 2005, I found myself in another city...stranded...with no place to call home as Hurricane Katrina ravaged my house and all possessions...including my collection that I so coveted. I was stuck on a couch with a friend's computer in search of my parents. They stayed in the city through the storm and I hadn't heard from them, nor could I get in touch with them for weeks. I was the worst time in my life, not knowing if my family was even alive. I hopped on to the forum to inform my new found friends of everything happening and found a lot of very sincere support. It meant the world to me that people out there could be that supportive of someone they'd never even met. Then, one day out of the blue, I received a package from a name I didn't know. To my surprise, it was a very nice PAM. A gift from a member that heard about my losses. Wow...what a gift. And this watch will never leave my collection...no matter what. AND even further on, a few days later, I find another package from another person I did not know. It was a LUNAR CHRONOSWISS on a beautiful strap. Once again...another watch that will never leave my possession. If I ever had to run from tragedy again, I'd have both of these watches with me. And I will never forget what some people have done for me...it means a lot. As for today, I am home again, my house is finally rebuilt...everthing new. And I begin again with another nice collection. I miss some of my old watches, such as the PATEK PHILLIPE and my old GLASSHUTE...but, I have some nice replacements. So, to end...what does this place mean to me? HOPE and new TRUST in my fellow man. Sounds corny huh? Well, so be it. Thanks to the admin and mods here...it's a great place.

Woo hoo! I love it. Great spread...and yes, I saw the Jack Daniels. The bar looks nice and the hors d'oeuvres look appetizing as well. Just one question: I see some guys holding these small cans. Are all the beverages over there that small? Also, I hope there was a group wrist shot of all the reps, yes!!!???

Well, it's almost midnight here in Southern US. I'm just waiting to see if there are any NEW pics. Wish I could have been there...but, it would have been a long haul for me. Mardi Gras just ended here just over a week ago, but, maybe we'll have to think of a "Big Easy" GTG in New Orleans...for the next Mardi Gras??? Anyhow...MORE PICS please!

I'm surprised nobody posted the Nipple Song. When I saw the link, I could have sworn that's what was going to play. Oh well...Here's the Indian Nipple Song. (no nudity, just damn funny)

Just got back from seeing this in the theater. What a great movie. Daniel Day Lewis is a great actor...I didn't really like his character in Gangs of New York...but, I guess that was the point. So, he did well. 2 hours and 39 minutes...but, it really worked well as you always wanted to know what was going to happen next. I predicted the outcome, so I thought, until the last few minutes. I'm a fan of period movies and this one really personifies the 1900's. I think I'll pick this up on DVD, when it comes out.

Great work! I'm starting to look for your posts in hopes of great photos. I really enjoyed seeing your PVD pam shots in another thread and it gave me a new interest in Pams...and I'm not a Pam fan. So, you've done well, Old Skool. I consider myself somewhat of a photographer and I used to post "outdoor" shots of my past collection (on RW1). I think I'll have to get back into the game. I miss doing this. Thumbs up.

Nice... Looks like you got my exact Day Date that I'm trying to replace. Hopefully, I'll have this soon.
-
Due to the date of Mardi Gras...the game fell on the same night as Bacchus parade. As Bacchus is a popular krewe, there were tons of people out on the streets...but, on one float there was a huge TV showing the game and people were following the float trying to watch. We all got updates as people passed. After seeing some friends and catching some loot...I ran back to the house to catch the last quarter. WOW...what a game. And what a great accomplishment for New Orleans native Eli Manning. We're all proud.

Beautiful watch. Very sleek. I'd like to see that with the logo only. I'll take one.

I've always liked this watch...and these new styles are wild. If we're really "getting serious", I'd like to see this one: Yellow dial Name (logo) in the Subdial Large numbers 12 / 6 46 mm-diameter SS or Black CG (doesn't bother me, either way) I'd wear this all the time...it's a certian conversation piece. If I can wear the Breitling Bentley on my little wrist, I can wear this...but, the BB does get noticed, that's for sure. So let's really get serious...how about a Limited Edition of 500...Overlord Mark III - REP THIS: OK...Now I'm done...I WANT THE Diver Deep Seal!!!!!!!!!! I'll have to wait for the price to drop a little...but, I will have a Graham.

Great news! Yes, I'll take two or three of these. Love them!

Raijor, This place has been around since 1894. If any hat, worth anything, is purchased in my area, this is where we get them: http://www.meyerthehatter.com/meyer/ Lots of good stuff here...and only about 1/4th of them are on the website.

Hey Sandel, I'm with you...I love the Chrono. The OVERLORD was one of my favorites back in a day. There were a lot of them a couple of years back and I never did take the plunge. I'd still like one, one day. The models of the gens have changed since then...but, they're still cool.

I enjoyed this review. I've considered this watch in the past and I think it may go on my "wish list" now. It would be nice to have at our local regatta. Thanks for this one.

Good to know. Great looking. Clean! -
Very nice looking 005. I had a PVD Logo from EL a while back and it needed a strap like that...that strap is GREAT! Enjoy.

For Christmas, I thought I'd be SURE not to post here. It's a special occasion and all.
-
I think this is outstanding. I needed something like this years ago. It would have kept me from making those stupid posts like: Is giveusyourwallet.com a scam site? Thanks dax. It should be pinned...or put in the Auction Sams / Knowlege base threads.

Some of my favorites are no longer made...but, I've found some replacements. I always lean towards the 5 x 50 Robustos. Zino - Mouton Cadet # 6, I think it was. They now have a Classic Zino that took it's place. Partagas Serie D # 4 (LOVE this cigar). Sometimes hard to find around here. Por Larranaga CAO - Americana CAO - Maduro Anniversary Romeo y Julieta - Legendary Cigars Montecristo No. 2 La Gloria Cubana Padron - Serie 1926 40th Anniversary Gurkha - Black Dragon One of the best cigars I've ever had was a Partagas 150. Tonight I had a Gurkha Grand Reserve - Robusto (Great cigar). -
Many of these are just great. I'm impressed.

I watched the movie online the other day. Not bad...not great...but, it was a bit predictable. I was waiting for the zombies...and there they were. This was sort of like Tom Hank's "Cast Away", but in New York...I don't know why I thought that, but when he talks to the mannequins...I thought of Wilson the Volleyball. I did try to figure out what watch he was wearing, but the online movie was a bit dark.

Nice variety! I'm with Pho... I must be a hoarder...as my collection continues to grow more and more.
