Any Electronic Experts In The Field ?
cornerstone replied to 2005SUBMARINER's topic in The looney bin
@gio: Great post! Thank you! If you're not getting the full kit right now, modern PC's often do a better job of upscaling DVDs than many DVD players (makes sense, more processing power) - especially if you can get 1:1 pixel mapping onto the LCD screen. -
Great pics of a great city!! I need another holiday...!! Cheers!

You need the link pin removal tool that Narikaa sells for five quid here I'm not sure that this is the easiest bracelet to work on though (I think the pins can be hard work getting out). Best of luck!!

...he says from a safe distance!

Oh, you know better than to tease us like that! Bring it on Great post, and a sentiment that many of us share. I would also like to nominate "Ridiculoulous, Not Bag, and Excellent" not just for TOM (Typo of the month), but also for the basis of a brilliant new social and political order. Voting would be a lot more fun. Back to bags.....

I agree that they look cool. For an enthusiast that is really into a particular watch or a particular brand of watch it's a nice bit of paraphernalia. I just bought one for a gift watch (they know it's a fake, they picked it from the dealer pics), just because I thought the recipient would get a wee kick out of it. But I don't have any - I know it would be just more house clutter, and I need that like a hole in the head (have a double garage completely full of junk, but no enthusiasm to do anything about it).

Gauging For A Posible Group Buy Of The Best Hermes Birkin
cornerstone replied to dvn's topic in General Discussion
PROBLEM SOLVED!! "Jane Birkin ditches Hermes bag for sporran" LEGENDARY actor and singer Jane Birkin has ditched the Hermes Birkin bag, which she inspired, in favour of the Scots sporran after the world-famous accessory gave her tendonitis. Launched over 20 years ago, the Birkin bag has become a cultural symbol of elitism, privilege and celebrity. But after complaining of pains in her arms, the singer and actress has replaced her four-figure namesake with a £10 kilt accessory. Birkin said: "I bought this second-hand [sporran purse] in Edinburgh three years ago, and a more useful little thing one couldn't own. It's the envy of Paris. I gave up on the [birkin] bag right away. That bloody thing. I told Hermes they were mad to make it. My one was always full and it ended up giving me tendonitis. Rest of article here. So Sash, when is the sporran Group Buy? -
Hmmm, so what we really need is a Swiss Army Snickers Dispenser.... And bear spray, obviously (I like the idea of the bear spray, the backup bear spray, and the backup to the backup bear spray!)
-
Why thank you, sa! And the best thing of all was that it was possible to find without even the slightest hint.... Have a good one!
-
Oh, FFS....was there all along Santa

You call that prepared? If you really want to be prepared for anything in a (modern) Land Rover, you'll have a Toyota hidden inside it (I'm kidding, I'm kidding) It's not fair with the Snickers - you have a legitimate reason to eat them. In Australia it's hot as hell. If you keep a case of Snickers bars in your car here you ( a ) have to eat them quickly or they'll melt (as in, within two or three minutes) and ( b ) you're either diabetic or a fat bastard, or a diabetic fat bastard.

Can't you tell?.... .....It's a grand complication!

Thanks for this - appreciate it. The Ladies ETAs always seem to need winding too if they're not worn from morning until night, but at least when it worked it doesn't sound like this Asian Auto was too bad. I have reached a decision....to procrastinate for a bit longer while I wait to find out how much shipping a box would be

Nanuq's latest knife, perfect for the man about Alaska. Fits in only one suitcase. By the way, is that an aerial in there?
-
Yes, problem solved!! These are genuine reviews of the whisky in the picture: "Old-fashioned sticking plasters, herrings in a barrel; Lively, brine and limes, backed by delicate peat-reek; Lengthy and increasingly salty, with cereal 'new make' notes lingering." AND "Balancing biscuity/salted crackers crispness. Burning dry leaves, smoked fish. Ointment (Savlon) in taste and texture" Savlon?! To read between the lines: A nicsh pint. Pours moschtly in the glaes. Not tae expenshive. And savlon, obvioushly. @rico - the wife got the ETA, this one's for the mistress Ach, quartz - more decisions....!

The secret once they are already in your house is to lay little cheese traps, they absolutely can't resist the cheese. Or, in fact, some peanut butter that has been under the grill can work wonders too. Gets the wee blighters every time. Wait, oh, the FBI....I thought you meant mice.

Who said anything about wimmin? Tiny watches are the new Panerais! ...or the other option is to buy two Asians.... One for her, one for me!! But, yes, that is exactly the problem. Head/wallet/sense over heart - this whole present-buying concept is a tough one.
-
Cheers! Do you think I would get more interest if I started a poll? The difference in price is big - $80 between the Asian and the ETA. Hmm..... Decisions. Was rather hoping someone might feel strongly one way or the other.
-
Just by comparison the ETA-2671-2 has 25 jewels, and is 17.2mm x 4.8mm Since the seagull one is bigger there is every chance that it could keep time for longer than the ETA one. Intriguing!

Okay, a bit of detective work.... The movements are almost certainly going to be one of these puppies: Name: TY6D1KS(6112) Type: TY6D1KS(6112) Price: Performance: Ø:19.80mm H:6.15mm 23 Jewels/Auto/Date for ladies Name: TY6C1女装自动无历 Type: TY6C1 Price: Performance: 女装自动无历快跳(另有镀金机芯) Ø19.8mm G=代表金色电镀 Shame they don't have pics of the other side of the movement. These movements appear in some of the ladies Rolex models being sold by the dealers here. Anyone had any good, bad or indifferent experiences with them? In the meantime, I shall keep digging....
-
Looking at some of the ladies watches available for sale, the ETA ones use the 2671-2, I was wondering if anyone had any experience of the Asian movements in ladies watches. Anyone know anything about them? I know that the ETA 2671-2 has quite a low power reserve because its such a small movement, if it isn't worn all day, it needs rewound and the time reset the next morning. How does the Asian movement fair in this regard? Appreciate any help - it's a very hefty price jump from the Asian to the ETA movement in some of these watches, I could give two watches as gifts rather than one if you know what I mean (the case is exactly the same on some of them, only the movement differs).

What Can Be Expected From A Good Rep?, Maybe a bit naive question, but maybe also an interesting question? Just to come back to the original question, you can expect: 1. More sex to be sure. (See Narikaa's Nymphomariner) 2. (Is this just me?) More people start prostrating themselves at your feet. 3. Upgrades on flights from economy to replica business class. 4. Your house will look bigger. 5. On the downside, for every replica watch bought, another Swiss puppy starves to death. (But millions of enslaved cuckoos have been liberated.) Here's a question though - how many reps can you buy for the cost of one Rolex service?

Best solution is to stick with PI's that are good with motorcycle maintenance. There's a section for them in the Yellow Pages these days under 'Motorcycles - and Cheating Bitch'. Was the oil a nice honey colour?

The first couple of ryyannon's would be fine, but four would be way too many for a single table.
