  1. A belated and apologetic happy new years to our NZ Shortest Thread readers of course..... 2008 is, possibly, well, who really knows.... [OT: This post is dedicated to Citibank and Merrill shareholders, for whom doo has a deeper and more substantial meaning lately... ]
  2. I got my PO back from this run last week - absolutely frickin' amazing. A great watch made perfect. Thank you J !!! Now....whether to coat the other 3 PO's or save it all for coating the dog.... (see a couple of pages back to understand).
  3. Merry Christmas everyone.... Christmas is almost here in a few hours, which used to be awesome until I found out that the whole Santa thing is a scam and I have to stay up all night with a screwdriver and spanner erecting a swing and slide set in the garden....!! I don't know about you guys but I wore some amazing watches over the Xmas party season without so much as a single comment....but wear one Elizabethan codpiece and everyone mentions it. Weird.... Actually one amazing (and true) bit of Christmas spirit - I came home today and my neighbour was repairing my fence, not the shared bit, the bit at the front of my house. And he'd edged the path. The cynic in me says this is going to be one MASSIVE party he's planning (!) - but wow, a genuine Christmas miracle!! Anyway - enough jabbering - Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone.
  4. You can PM Admin; there's more information about supporting the forum here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?autoco...ticle&id=29 And Admin can be PM'd here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?act=Ms...ODE=4&MID=1 So you know, there are 23 Ziggy articles in there; the rest of the Wiki is underdeveloped. Don't miss looking around the Movement Q&A forum for some great information too: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showforum=76 Hope this helps.
  5. Coming soon to ESPN2...........Xtreme-Watchmaking! Starring: death-defying crown stem extensions, limb-mutating hand swaps, and the infamous 'Cage of Bezel Teeth'. Don't let anyone ever tell you that being a WIS isn't up there with piloting a fighter jet....
  6. And some light reading to relax with...
  7. Sheesh - you think that's bad - you should see the replacement dial they mailed to me:
  8. I think his articles are only available to RWG Supporters. Incidentally are you able to view the other articles in there? I ask because it was raised in another thread and I was wondering.
  9. Great review - thank you!! I don't know how you do it, you take a watch I've never been interested in and suddenly make it irresistible to me!
  10. The better man won on the night, no question. Hatton went at him and took the fight to Mayweather, but Mayweather outplayed Hatton - and ultimately, of course, got the KO.
  11. I'm helping him come out of his shell....
  12. This is really building up to a massive fight; tempted to find a bar that's showing it. Mayweather has a vastly bigger reach than Hatton though. I'm intrigued to watch it, but my head says Mayweather, much as I will root for Hatton.
  13. Things were getting quiet around here; Dr Egg has his red light still on (he may have a sideline in prostitution, we're not sure) - so while we're waiting, a Shortest Thread intermission... (I thought some of this guy's stuff was great - all credit to him)
  14. It kind of makes a mockery of all those brands when you see them in a big list like that, doesn't it? At least it does for me. Hmmm. Glenmorangie handbags....
  15. Bingo. They were your problem. Never use Fedex again, it was them that found it and reported it. As piratedzeus said for the Netherlands I would suggest airmail; Dutch members may have other suggestions. Also know there are EU-based dealers which helps too. One tricky thing with the Netherlands is that EMS does not go there; I think because TNT is Dutch or something - some part of the network is Dutch-owned or there's some kind of business link up anyway (can't remember the details); so it's an oddity. That's why someone might send you something Fedex instead. But avoid couriers and Fedex like the plague. [EDIT: they're also a nuisance for customs duties too] Go with airmail, I think (and hope) you'll have better luck.
  16. Which courier / mail service was being used when it was confiscated? That can be a relevant issue - sometimes it's the courier catching you. If you're having continuing issues, an EU dealer might be a good choice.
  17. Great find - perhaps the Squiggly copywriter is a frustrated wannabe Mills & Boon author! Can we try some more - see if you can guess the watch.... "Born to drive and built for speed: the story of a man and his stylish big machine" Did you guess - this? Imagine these monstrosities: "Swirls and whorls put a spell on you. The fabric strap features a fascinating pattern in relief in a darker and lighter shade of beige, offering a subtle tactile pleasure. The transparent plastic case..." "Stars twinkle in the depths of a black velvet night" "Sculptured cartoon kitty-cats perch on the pink and white criss-cross patterned fabric strap of this adorable Gent" "For the gentleman hunter on the prowl" "For the man who feels at home in a coat of armour made of shining metal" Wow - I think the folk at the J Peterman catalogue are getting worried....! I had no idea that so many of Swatch's watches were THAT awful - wow.
  18. I don't think Ken sells shirts from his personal wardrobe...
  19. I don't have a noobmariner - but from what I have read the recommendation is not to remove it; or at least be prepared to bend the bezel if you do. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...el++noobmariner http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...el++noobmariner
  20. You live under a piece of bread? Unusual - distinctive. I like it.
