  1. Yeah, real quality. That's the rumour, and I'm sticking to it!
  2. .....and 2500!! :band1: In old currency I think that was Powermax, but thanks to Kenberg and Pugwash-related post inflation the limit is now set at a quarter of a million... I hope you have all enjoyed my tear down of the El Primero movement and my 7750 tutorials as much as I enjoyed preparing them. Wait, that might be Ziggy I'm thinking of.... Anyway - Cheers!
  3. Okay, okay, okay - Ken! I get the hint. I'll go get a beer. Matter of fact, I got it now. I suggest everyone else does the same....
  4. Just one amongst millions....but my flesh and blood. 15th Battalion Highland Light Infantry. Killed at the Battle of the Somme, aged 23. Now remembered here: The Thiepval Memorial. Just a single name amongst a list of 73,000 other soldiers killed during the battle with no grave; just blown to smithereens and lost to the mud. One name on this panel here (15C): Poor bastard.
  5. Question is - did you type your reply vertically or horizontally?! Perhaps you can get an Aquatimer skin for your phone's clock!
  6. Hehehe- when I read about the UK iPhone release on BBC News I thought "at least it will take Pugwash's mind off the Aquatimer..."
  7. Ah, something like this Graf Zepplin (!) then... A bargain at $475 if it is....
  8. Well, the filename of the photo is a hint...
  9. Hey congrats! Of course - they say never go back.... But then 'they' probably didn't have bills to pay!
  10. Sheesh - the yuppies in Leith these days...
  11. Moved from GD to off-topic - the home of all our Carl XVI Gustav dream conversations....
  12. Okay, okay - this is my final offer to L-Dizzle. This is my "works package": 100 - fax works package - trim paper (the obvious stuff like the white bits around the outside), clean paper with sponge, same kind of sponge rolex owners use on their gen cars 50 - new genuine fax of dial; looks just like a fax of the real thing. i will also correct the font with MS Paint. 75 - refinish paper to make it look like a real fax from the 1970's. image aged under UV light. scrumpled a bit, then polished. 80 - to age the back of the paper to fool experts. 100 - add faxed likeness of tritium to fax dial. 40 - polish and oil the paper bracelet to give it that silky feeling like genuine only with package if separate it is 60 bucks(what i do is buff each bit of paper and then put simichrome paste on it and rub it in good then i oil it down with wd-40 and then i scrub it in hot soapy water with a soft tooth brush) now these prices r only in a package type deal.....I AM NOT GUARANTEEING ANYTHING , I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR WATCH IF IT GETS WATER IN IT i can only give u peace of mind , u r not paying me like u would the big boys for that guarantee , but if u want to give me 3000 usd i will guarantee it then ,LOL!!! , cause in a sense u r paying for that luxury from the name brand watch makers!!! DISCLAIMER- i am not responsible for any postage losses outside the usa , i have never had a problem yet but i cant predict what other countries do,, also i will insure all packages for 100 usd , if u want to insure for more u must pay for this and i ship two day priority , if u want shipped differently then u must request this and pay for the extra charges
  13. For $50 I can Tipp-Ex your pearl, for another $40 I can blow the dust off the fax paper. Plus $25 fax handling fee, of course.
  14. Look - I know you're just learning the ropes, but this isn't how you make friends around here. I don't even think archibald was even having a go at you, he was just telling you how it is. If "f'in replica watch forums" seem lame to you, then this isn't the place to express it. Consider your warn level increased. This is a very friendly scene (really), sit back, read and learn. You might even discover how much you overpaid for that Aquatimer....
  15. And just to prove to you that I'm not bluffing about the fax virus threat.....how about we start with a little taste of.... MR SNEEZE!!! Start faxing those watches now - you know you want too...!
  16. I don't think EMS goes to the Netherlands..... (Only the more expensive China Express) And why the photo of the watch.....?
  17. Personally, I would wait. Thing is, if customs are involved, you don't want to be calling up going "where the hell is my watch that I never ordered, and I have no idea who sent me, and is all a mistake, good day, sir!"
  18. At the time, this thread was a good laugh: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=7772
  19. @Crazysaleman - FORMAL WARNING You have been told before. If you have time to be posting here, you have time to be faxing Pugwash his new IWC Aquatimer. The poor man spends all day glancing at his Apple iFax wistfully but nothing ever comes out the top. You will not be warned again. Next time your fax machine will be faxed a virus, and you wouldn't like it one bit. It won't look nice, and it might even scare you...
  20. Here you go: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?autoco...ticle&id=29
  21. They're no better or worse than any other 2836's. You play the odds, but they should run for a good while before needing attention. In an ideal world, the movements should be serviced straight away, but when that service costs as much as the movement, the economics aren't great. Perhaps only for watches that are real keepers; it's a personal thing at the end of the day. Just my 2 cents.
