  1. I have already asked Admin if he's having Halloween fun with us or not....
  2. With 12 of you in one go! You'll put all those Hooters waitresses out of a job....
  3. The birthdays show up for local time, so those are all 'November 1' birthdays even if it's still Halloween where they live. In either case - HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALL!!!! Maybe they need to arrange a RWG Worldwide Nov 1 Birthday GTG!!
  4. The fish symbol means water resistant Like a true WIS, I forget why Christians use it. Because they're also water resistant....? (Kidding!)
  5. That's right - maybe he'll get to work and find out the entire office is full of fake Pateks....
  6. In that kind of situation I normally like to ask myself.... What would Jetmid do?
  7. What's with the pulling the shorts down and the winking at the start of that clip?!
  8. To be fair, I hear that the nonagenarian Red Sox fans were quite contrite about it....
  9. I see what you were thinking. No, the ETA Sellitas are ETA + the extra finishing, so they're a premium on a blank ETA. The ETA's in reps are a controversial issue. They are surplus stock of some kind. ETA has factories in China where much of the movement is made, but then the final piece of the jigsaw must take place in Switzerland. It seems likely that our movements are assembled in China from ETA parts, or something of that nature. The really interesting topic is this. ETA no longer wants to supply Sellita (they want to do Sellita's work themselves), so Sellita have created their own SW200 movement that is on sale in gens and has appeared in some reps. The question is going to be what supply of this movement is like to the rep industry. Also they have some very interesting ETA clones coming including the 7750.
  10. Congratulations!!! Rockies fans may like to differ of course....commiserations to you guys. It was a close run 4-0 final series
  11. Great review! Cheers! I'm still waiting to find my perfect vintage strap for the Fiddy, and the day I do will probably be the day some Paneristi snaps it up five minutes before me....
  12. I don't see any difference at all. The ETA 2824-2 on the Sellita site has the same specs as the ETA 2824-2, because it is one. The schematic is even the official ETA one. There's no real mystery - traditionally they 'finish' the movements to the manufacturer's specifications (some of the brands do very little in the way of watch making if they can outsource it). I'm not clear what the Sellita / ETA discussion has to do with Switzerland / China.
  13. Just to let you know - this thread has now been formally replaced by the "Aquatimer Released Soon" thread....
  14. Pugwash...tight lycra shorts....cute little bell on the front of his bicycle...20km ride through the pissing rain every morning. I'm guessing he might go for the bus or a lift instead.
  15. No reps that I'm aware of...
  16. You missed the explanation for this in the second post in this thread. Up until recently Sellita existed to 'finish' ETA blank movements - the movements on their website ARE ETA movements. ETA wanted to stop supplying them and do this finishing work themselves. Sellita won a court case to make ETA phase out supply. None of these Sellita-ETA's are in our reps. When people talk about receiving a Sellita in their rep, they are talking about the new Sellita SW200 which is their replacement for the ETA. It is already sold in gen watches including Oris and (I believe) Breitling. It is a 'Swiss' copy of the ETA movement since many of the patents have expired. The movement is swappable with its ETA equivalent, but the parts are not interchangeable.
  17. Good taste for a long-awaited first post!!!! There are Richard Mille reps, but not that I have seen of this particular Massa version.
  18. I think the skeleton Breguet is absolutely fantastic - but it's Homer's one I've got my eye on. Verrrrrry tempted.
  19. Hehehe...I saw that coming! There are some Breguet reps using the same movement as Homer's watch linked to above. Trusty and Josh have them, others may do too.
  20. I do, and it was pretty funny. In order of tabloid importance: - Man stops goal with his legs. - Belgrano is sunk - [if Jesus landed on the moon with a surfboard] - Diana forgets to put seatbelt on - Paris Hilton - Six in a bed footballer romps . . . . . - Page 3 girls - Amusing parrots - News Check this goal from a goalkeeper. Makes Beckham's half way effort seem almost tame...
  21. Miami are 0 from 7 this season...it's not looking bright for them I went to the World Bowl final once, it was pretty cool except for the fact that when the game stopped to show the ads in the US in the stadium we only one ad over, and over, and over again. For two hours. And two hours of "You can't get better than a Kwik Fit Fitter" can really begin to grate... [EDIT: To clarify, it was 2 hours of game time/trophy collection plus 2 hours of one Kwik Fit ad repeated over and over]
