  1. I agree - there's an international audience. No (photographed) snags at the GTG
  2. Can I make a suggestion? [says he, ploughing ahead regardless... ] In practical terms, getting people to go interstate is not going to be easy - I'm not sure good intentions alone would get folk on a plane or drive for 12 hours. So my thoughts are that 2 alternatives might be more realistic - One would be to have more than one local GTG in each city, perhaps on the same day - that would be easy, and here it is long overdue. The other is that to get folk to travel interstate they would have to be travelling for something a bit special - as in, we all chip in for some kind of awesome day out, like hiring a boat and skipper between us for day, alcohol and food, I don't know. If people chip in a hundred bucks or whatever towards whatever that special something might be, I think they are more inclined to travel for it, if that makes sense. Just a few thoughts anyway.
  3. Great - everyone is agreed then. Around the corner from their house would be best
  4. My god, who did you work for? Blofeld ?! [Just jesting - best wishes for getting back up on your feet.]
  5. Don't patch it!!!!! If it's too late, it's no great stress - but that whole patching thing is rubbish because the limit is new connections per second. The answer to your problem is at the WiFi router (which isn't yours) - you need to open the port there I would say. The router's HTTP port is already open, but presumably your random bittorrent port is closed.
  6. They probably come here and laugh when we discuss BMW's
  7. It looks like it was amazing. Romantic candles? You've definitely upped the ante on the bowl of crisps I normally leave out for folk! No worries Robi, at the next Euro GTG there will be a vodka juuust the right size for an average night out....
  8. Did you take out Priority Mail International Insurance? That sounds like the registered mail limit. http://www.usps.com/international/intlspecialservices.htm
  9. Personally I would say that Miami isn't worth the drive for a family trip, it might be great to live there and all but it's not especially interesting for the kids as a holiday spot, and the highway driving tends to bore the kids. What I mean is, when you've already got a million things to do on your doorstep, flogging off hundreds of miles may not thrill all that much IMHO. I've visited Orlando many times - there is more than enough to keep you busy there, don't forget to factor in some sunshine days lounging by the pool. As has been mentioned, the outlet shopping is great - wife and kids will love the cheap brand name clothes. [May be a negative for the guy paying the credit card bill !!]. You'll spend more time shopping than you expected Cape Canaveral (also mentioned above) is interesting and not too far away. But then you can check out some beaches at the same time, or have a short beach hotel stay. Have a good one [EDITED for double-negative!]
  10. I just read offshore's post, and I wanted to add... I too can vouch for the fact that there is nobody on this forum, and perhaps by extension in the rep scene, that does more to stop scammers than TT. A few of those scammers could probably vouch for that too....but TT banned them!!
  11. Congratulations TT - and wow, there have been some massive laughs amongst those posts over the years - great times. Here's to 10,000 more! [PS Is now a good time for a 21 ass, asshat salute?!! ]
  12. In French it would be called le zing. Literally - zest or vitality - a lightening flash of energy!!
  13. Taken the on the sun's day off I believe. EDIT: I just took another look at that pic. And if you squint your eyes and look straight into the screen - you should be able to see yourself squinting in the reflection.
  14. 2 for bored, huh? No takers for "in the mood for dancing...?"
  15. Tariffs are counter-productive - and heaven knows its over 200 years since the Wealth of Nations was published. Where it all goes pear-shaped is with special interests and politicians appeasing them - tariffs and subsidies usually look after one part of the economy at the expense of another. An example was the increase in the US tariff on steel imports thereby protecting (in global terms) inefficient domestic steel production at the expense of more efficient domestic manufacturing, which became less internationally competitive with higher input steel costs than overseas competitors. And if you (used to) work in a ship yard or a car plant, that's a big frickin' deal. I have no idea what it is about farmers that they seem to get the red carpet subsidy treatment worldwide.
  16. Ken, this is no place for jokes. I'm shocked. Shocked and stunned. Shocked, stunned and bemused. Shocked, stunned, bemused and...

  19. Gorgeous watch - wear it well and enjoy!!
