  1. I'd be interested in one too... assuming price is reasonable! This looks like a tank!
  2. Thanks for the info babola... I had an inkling that it would be something that would result in a questionable ending (one way street). In any case you did an excellent job on your hands, I'm sure previous experience has paid off greatly. Can't wait to get mine installed!

WOW! You rarely see these watches these days, great choice on a classic watch
  4. @ babola, can you show us how you tinted your hands? You mentioned airbrushing, did you just lightly coat the top layer or the underside? I'm guessing the top layer, but how did you do the seconds hand and maintain the white paint so cleanly? What other methods are available for us to try in order to "tint" these hands to a slightly off-white aged look? Of course, a relume would be best
  5. Such a beautiful watch... this is one of those that I would love to have in my collection for the long haul.
  6. Crossing my fingers for news on this project for this upcoming month!
  7. wow, that's an awesome 201/A... beautiful piece!
  8. Excellent review, I was wondering about the crisp whiteness, but I'm so happy at the quality of the hands it doesn't bother me to have them tinted or even relumed. These Pre-V style hands are excellent straight out of the box!
  9. The hands look great, how did you tint them?
  10. My cat is homeless!! LOL, I love it.
  11. Wow, beautiful pics of a beautiful place, I'm thoroughly jealous!
  12. ooh, that's looking good! Caseback/Movement shot please
  13. You gotta stop by Lombardi's Pizza on Spring Street... After I get outta JFK that's the first place I go to. A nice afternoon/evening stroll on the Brooklyn Bridge is also a good way to spend an hour. If you're into steaks Peter Luger's in Brooklyn is also a must have.
  14. I wanna see the PAM 312 repped, beautiful watch and very popular but no reps yet of this beauty.
  15. Will the dials be similar in process to the hand distribution, or invite only on the dials? Please let us know more info when you get closer in July! I'm in desperate need of a 201/A dial
  16. LOL at the new gif, would make an interesting avatar for someone
  17. Absolutely stunning watch, I'm sure you won't regret keeping this one. I'm wondering, how would this one look on the OEM brown matte gator? Do the blue hands clash with the brown? Black is default, but I have a soft spot for white dials and brown straps Great watch!
  18. Wow, that's a disturbing video. It really is a waste, and I don't quite understand what he's trying to prove. One nice homage destroyed like that isn't going to prove anything. That guy definitely has some issues I would much rather have seen him give it away to some bum on the street than to destroy it like that. Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with homages... they are a great way to start especially when testing the waters to see if you like PAMs or not. They're also a great starter watch to practice on manual wind movements. I started out with homages, and have since upgraded to reps and even a gen PAM in my collection. After all these years it seems like it is a natural progression. Good luck, be sure to show us some pics when you get your homage
  19. There is a problem with purchasing the white numbered version though, the modder or lume-applier will need to lume ALL white markings, otherwise you won't get that stealth look. As mentioned above, this one just isn't properly repped yet. The ones that are offered at the dealers are "light" grey, not nearly dark enough to get the look we want.
  20. Ahhhh finally Now we all hope the next project FGD takes up is will be another long awaited item *hint hint*
  21. The gen is a good choice for this watch, considering the price point. Used 42mm POs can range from $1700 to over $2000+ depending on the condition. If you put together a franken 42mm PO, you'll still save hundreds off of a genuine... but with a genuine being just a fraction of a bit more thank you put in the franken, it certainly is an attainable watch. I haven't regretted getting my gen 42mm Pumpkin PO, the AR on the real thing is amazing!
  22. Very impressive, will look amazing when you get it near completion!
