  1. Great choice on the black, would have been mine as well.
  2. ^^^ agreed, when your wrist shape is flat, you can get away with 47mm at times depending on the shape of the watch. 44mm should be at the "just about right" size for a wrist around 7", you can definitely pull off the 47mm. Just have to get used to it.
  3. You've come a long way! I'm proud to own your "A" series straps
  4. Beautiful pic of the turtle! Love Hawaii, can't wait to go back
  5. Looks gigantic next to the explorer... more importantly, how does it feel? Natural on the wrist or too bulky?
  6. Agreed -- price is a bit steep, you should be looking at sub $3.5K. Below $3K is what should trigger your interest. If it were me, I wouldn't pull the trigger unless it was somewhere around $2500-2800.
  7. IWC Portuguese 3714 is a great choice as well. Look into the 3714-01, 3714-45, 3714-46, 3714-64, etc. There are a plethora of combinations to choose from in this line to suit your preference.
  8. Tribute to one of the best white dialed Panerai watches out there! Mounted on a Dirk Pre-V Strap (Vero Cuoio Dark Tan) with 5 years of Patina Couple of esteemed members helped put this beauty together. Sadly this is no longer in the stable so I thought I'd share how beautiful a white dialed Panerai can be. Specs: 005K H-Factory Low Beat Movement 18000 BPM Genuine OEM 003 Tritium Dial DSN Pre-A Hands 005K H-Factory Case 005K H-Factory Crystal (Sapphire w/o AR) DSN Double O-Ring Crown w/Special 1:1 tube to genuine Jakob 6502 Caseback Sead A-F Series CG Enjoy the pics!
  9. I've been doing CrossFit for the better part of a year now as well and been seeing some improvements in endurance, strength, and speed. Didn't think I could do it but I'm burning fat and reaching goals! Love CrossFit as most of the time the competition is against yourself (and your previous benchmark). There's a continuous drive to improve and the community is great. Glad to be with good company!
  10. depth of those indices are to die for love the shadows it produces when filled in like that... good stuff SD
  11. Don't see the 082 very often, good stuff!
  12. Thread definitely hijacked... SD, don't let it distract you! Any updates on your end?
  13. Thanks for sharing pics guys ... seems like the lume color is very "burnt" looking (more brown than yellow/orange). Very interesting results with the resin in the indices!
  14. Here you go! http://www.hadleyroma.com/2013HRCatalog.pdf I personally like the MS851(leather) and MS850 (cordura). Could probably squish the 22mm into the 3789 since it has 21mm lugs.
  15. I'm sure the payments will start rolling in once you've had a chance to show the final product! Keep up the good work, we're all very interested in seeing this project's development.
  16. Hadley Roma straps are another great alternative, they typically run around $25+ and are very well made.
  17. Might seem like splitting hairs to you, and it very may well be ... but I'm entitled to provide my two cents as OP did ask "what do you guys think?". Keeping it as real as can be Gran, the second photo you posted is the IWC 3880-01. This model indeed has the red center tail on the seconds hand jet equal lengths, but in all IWC 3789-01 models, tail is always shorter in the center when compared to left and right wings. I know, it's a small flaw... but it's just one of those things that catches your eye once you're aware of it. Granted, 99% of the population wouldn't be able to tell, but a flaw is a flaw. In any case, this model doesn't look too shabby, overall the IWC reps are fairly well made.
  18. Center tail on the red jet on seconds hand is still too long. Obvious tell on the reps when compared to the gens. See pic of this gen here:
  19. One of my favorite watch cases ... Participated in this GB from a few years back and picked up a 8 watch box. Bump for an awesome organizer and hopefully another successful group buy!
  20. Thanks for posting pictures! We greatly appreciate the updates The color on the 6 looks more representative of what I envision"non-matching" to be. I agree on reducing redness... it's looking way too "reddish-orange" as opposed to a "yellowish-orange", but I'm sure you will be able to color correct with a few more experimentation runs. We're hoping you can be consistent or at least provide us a good gradient for selection!
