I'm still using that $15 press from Harbor Freight. I install the bezel first and then press on the insert.

I just went thru ebay- my source for so many details! All of the 16200 DJs with oyster bracelets had detachable end pieces- looks like a 558B end piece on the 78360 oyster bracelet would be correct.

I would think the more modern SELs would go with that watch. A 78360 with SELs would work, but I don't know where to find one. Old style 445Bs or 558s on a 78360 would be correct, also.

With the running seconds at 9, you've got the Asian 7750 in there, so hopefully it will hold up for you. Sure beats those 'paperweights' w/ running seconds at 6. The hour markers are slimmer which is good- more like the gen 16520.

You could try a DG2813 from Ofrei or CousinsUK and hope the hands fit. Good luck!

Interesting mod- fine tuning the caseback assembly. Don't know if Rolex does something like this in preparing their watch cases or if their machining process is just more precise than the rep mfrs.

That is a nice looking watch- the 'albino' dial! If the crystal was glued on, with the bezel off, try getting a razor or utility knife blade in there and breaking the glue bond- go around the whole crystal and maybe tap with a small hammer as you go. If it is epoxy, heat will work also, but it may trash out the crystal. When you put the gen crystal on, you will probably find that the bezel will not install. DW bezels are typically around .2mm too small. So then you have to sand the inside of the bezel to make it fit the gen crystal. You could use a dremel but go slowly and test fit regularly.

Nice write-up. I think these Invicta pro divers are cool watches for $80-100. I've got 5 of them- two quartz, two w/ Miyota movts. and the last one- an 8926 w/ the new Seiko NH35A. Problem is that I rarely wear them. I'm more likely to put on a $400 'beater' Rolex rep when I'm doing dirty work.

The 2836-2 ought to work just fine in a 16013 case, both of my DJs are 2836-2s- a 16013 and a 16014. The 1016 is no different- glue the dial to the spacer ring, install the hands and put it in the case w/ a #2 rafflestime ring. If you don't have a 2836-2, maybe you could get one. The 2824-2 is best for the 16200 DJ cases. Since Stilty rings are no longer around you might as well forget about using one. The old adage is a 2836-2 fits best in a Rolex case made for a 3035 movement, a 2824-2 fits in a case made for a 3135. You can fight the common knowledge all day long and I wish you the best! Some people mange to make it work, but for long term success follow the old adage.

I happen to like those specs, mainly because I have a similar watch and think it's a fine rep. PT SD w/ the 2846-2, MBW dial, JMB retention ring, gen crown and tube, GS-T-39 crystal. I did keep the rest of the PT bezel assembly- I'm happy with it. Watch is WR, a great beater for around $400- my kind of rep.

Interesting- I couldn't see the cgs and yes the pearl looks puny like the 116610. Didn't know TW made a 116610. Looking at the pic again it says 116620LN- never heard of that- wonder what the super 3135 is?

I think that parts list is just fine and you'll have a nice 16800 matte dial sub when all's said and done. Hope the yuki 3135 works out ok for you. Look forward to seeing it when it's done!

I would think a 7206 riveted bracelet would also work- with 80 end pieces.

Looks good to me, fair price as 6now says. Too bad the pearl is cracked and the crown emblem on the clasp has been flattened, but as you say it's well worn. If it was serviced 3 yrs ago, hopefully you're good for another 2-3 yrs.

Back in 08 I built a 5508 using an NDT case and dial. The lugs are a little thick and need to be slimmed down. But the 1520 Rolex movement fit in there just fine. A 1530 would have been correct but I never swapped out movements- they are the same size, 18,000 bph vs 19800 on the newer 1520. you could also look at Yuki- he has a 5508- used to be cheaper than NDT. http://www.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/6924997/7464494.htm Otherwise, you're on to Phong and it will cost you more

Option #3 is your best bet. ST3035 case isn't around anymore as I understand. 1680 case won't take a 27.3mm 16800/16610 dial. 16610 case has deeper rehaut, but there are a bunch of similarities between 16610 and 16800 same bezel aassembly and insert can be used same dial same crystal same crown and tube both used the same bracelet- 93150 until 2000 or so when the 93250 came out

This gold DJ case came from Matt- it's very nice. Yuki gen DJ dial, 2836-2 clone w/ a nice white DWO, Clark hands and a luxurydeals jubilee (I think!) with 455B end pieces. I'm actually thinking about redoing this watch- smooth bezel and an oyster bracelet
