  1. A very intricate review, the best post I have read for a long time!!!
  2. Very nice review! Flaws or no flaws, it is a legendary watch, wear it well!
  3. Not my cup of tea, looks very much like the Channel!
  4. Im not too fussy about flaws, because at the end of the day it is a rep, what does bother me is paying 388USD for a 'Swiss' movement. Nice post though Subzero, and it highlights why I would never buy a gen Rolex - the stigma of most Sub's being reps etc...
  5. Nice story. Well.....that's what they tell everyone.
  6. I think this depends what AD you are in, I have heard some stories turn nasty! Wearig a rep Breitling or Omega into an AD would probably not ring any bells, unless closely inspected, but wearing a Patek or Audemars rep into the relevant AD would be like showing up to a Ferrari dealership in a bodykitted Toyota Mr2, claiming it was real!! It is an illegal hobby, and whilst they may have no powers of confiscation, it is the effects in the wider sense that would have more repercussions for us -such as advertising the fact that communities such as ours exist.
  7. I didn't notice there was a magic trick until I watched it the second time around
  8. Couldn't fit me in your suitcase could you V? I am flexible with the date, I will be there from June - August, but Late July through to August would be better for me. Let's see what interest we get, and then we can get some details together....
  9. I am going to be locating to the midlands (Derbyshire) for the summer. I was wondering if there are many members who would like to have a GTG in July time around this area? I know of a few members who live near to here, so if you're intereted lets try and organise something? If there is much interest form London based members,, we could meet in the middle somwhere? I had in mind a weekend in late July....maybe 19th, or 26th...
  10. I am most active here on RWG and at Timezone. I also visit RG and RWI but to a lesser extent. I'm currently on study leave, and have done most of my exam preparation (two left to go ) so I have a bit of time on my hands after I finish work at the moment.
  11. There were a few threads when they were first relased and from what I remeber the 008 was the one to have, but to be honest they are all very very accurate!
  12. Not the best looking watch I have ever seen, and imagine trying to read the time in a low light setting!
  13. That one wouldn't It was one of two pieces built with a Swiss movement. The price runs into genuine Omega/Breitling price territory.
  14. Trading patterns between all EU countries are of an equal status (or they should be) as this is defined by EU Community law. Yes the EU was originally set up to conquer the economic short fall after the war, however, it has very much changed from being primarily an economic community - which was created under the Treaty of Paris, and expanded on by the Treaty of Rome. The EU has changed from this economic model to one of fairness and equality for its members. The Single European Act and the Treaty of Amsterdam saw a move from an economic basis to the equal treatment of its citizens regardless of race, gender, religion etc... So although the EU's original objectve was theaim to create stability and strengthening the economies of the member countries, it is as much about equality and social objectives as it is monetary. Therefore the only reason someone would want to see the exact country of origin would be due to having to ship an item the member x who reside in country y within the EU - because all tariffs and customs should be of equal status between EU countries. I hope this helps remove the coldness of the EU's basis
  15. This is the only watch I currently own, and am waiting for the addiction phase to kick in and buy more reps.... Here are a few I have owned over the years;
  16. Absolutely stunning, I think I may have to send my SMP to Jakub at some point!
  17. Can't believe I missed this, great review Teejay! Like you say, it would make a great daily wearer!
  18. Beautiful watch, congratulations on the purchase!
  19. Great picture as usual By-tor! Tryin to see if there have been any changes to the watch itself or if you mean the composition of the photo?
  20. This is a good point, however, imagine if it wasn't COSC certified, then it would run even less accurately, the further away it starts from 0, the more it will end up away from 0?
  21. I concur, this is all relevant. To the normal person, associating Rolex with Ralph Lauren is all part of differentiating said clothes from brand x. If someone see's Ralh Lauren clothes as being associtaed with a brand like Rolex, then that would create a much different perception than if it were a Rotary on the wrist.
