Given it is a GMT the Asian 21j is probably the DG 3804, which in some ways I prefer over the modified ETAs. However, with the Sinn, it should be high beat rate that you can only get with the Eta. The 3804 21j is a slower beat. But as long as the date wheel overlays are the same, its a coin toss.

After I completed the TZ Watch School, I went thru a phase of skill building where I bought a bunch of 2846 powered Octo's. Did the COMPLETE teardown, "Pro"Ultrasonic Clean, One-Dip Balance, and lube and rebuild. Out of curiosity, is yours a 17 jewel or 21 jewel? To your questions and observations: 1.) Don't be fooled by it "ran for 58 hours". Unless you had "eyes on it" for the final 10 hours after you observed it @ 48 -- chances are its timekeeping went out the window, slowing greatly over its final hours/minutes. They don't run for 58 hours of perfect timekeeping and just STOP. So if you were sleeping, then checked it the next morning and came up with the 58 hours, that is not an accurate measure of reserve. Also, slow beat tend to run a bit longer. 2.) Zigmeister might be able to clarify my next speculation. From my 'subjective' experience, watches with less jewels, or too little lube tend to have less friction and start up easy, and may even have an extended reserve. 3.) Why convert the 2846 to a GMT, when the DG3804 is already a slow beat GMT movement with correct hand stack and good DW alignment? IF only for the reason it is "Swiss" it seems like a lot of extra work. Overall sounds like you have a good movement.

Good points. However, as an example, I have a Gen Exp II white face. IF it were ever repped to the point of some of these new PAM reps with correct hand stacks, dial accuracy, etc..... I WOULD be tempted to sell my GEN, put ~$4000+ towards another new GEN, after spending $300 on the super rep to replace it. Case in point if I had poneyd up $9000 for a 2010 PAM 029, I would be pissed, and probably dump it. YMMV. I think the GEN forums are doing their membership a discredit to censor REP vs GEN comparisons. Knowledge is power to someone really looking to buy and collect said GEN watches. Sure, you might loose some % of Gen buyers to Reps when they see the light, but still, freedom of information could be a valuable asset. Then again, the first rule of Rep Club is you do not talk about Rep club, so having their fake discussion bans is probably in our best interest.

Question. Can the bezel of a NOOB cased PAM be removed without removing the crystal? -or- Is the crystal pressed into the bezel/case?

My first rep was in 1986, it was a Quartz Submariner Rep. I followed that up with a GEN TAG Heuer until 1995 when I landed my first "automatic" Submariner Rep. Then more GENs, more REPS, more GENS, and I just bought a REP of the 029 from Vac.

You replaced the crystal right? Is it GEN, or Aftermarket. If the entire ring is lifting off that easily, sounds like the crystal might be a bit thin walled. Also, if you put the old parts back on, does it go back together? Finally, you can technically test fit the bezel to the retaining wring sans tension spring.

I own more Gen's than Rep's, and this is my #1 watch forum that I hang out. Largely because of the people, knowledge, and freedom you get here. This is like the "Pirate Radio" of Watch Forums.

Wrist-Check was a splintering of RepGeek. Wrist-Check is to RepGeek as RWG is to RWG1.1. I like it because-- like RWG it has "low noise" level. Now that it is invite only, it is kinda "exclusive". RWG is still my home base.

I tried searching, but figure someone will know this off the top of their head. I have a PERFECT "Destro" Titanium CG in my parts bin. Is there a Destro 176/177 or other Ti 44mm PAM??? Thanks,
