  1. I have seen some 'never heard of them' brands on eBay using them. Possibly companies in the Invicta niche as well. So by GEN, technically yes, but not from the big well know makers.
  2. To me it looks like someone started to remove the old brown lume in an attempt to re-do it-- then gave up. The wobble/unevenness could be from attempts to remove the old lume.
  3. Yes, something is off at the USPS. Packages that normally take 2 days to get to/from me are taking close to a week these days. Something is up.
  4. Excellent quality review. Funny thing. I prefer the Rep Insert over the Gen. I like the thinner brighter fonts.
  5. @alterego, the Breguet Type XX is an awesome watch. I had the pleasure of trying one on last fall.
  6. I wonder if full on eye protection is required at the TH factory when testing the 7,200,000 BPH version. Imagine that seconds/s flying off at that speed. Incredible.
  7. Other Variables: -Dial Color (White wears Bigger, Black wears smaller) -Case Thickness (Thicker / Top heavy wear bigger. Slimmer (on a large diameter) wear smaller)
  8. Excellent. The Excel Spreadsheet worked great. Proved what I already knew, that Rolex 40mm watches are perfect for me.
  9. I am very glad to see this. I wanted a Radiomir (183) until I tried one on in the AD. The larger size and the way the strap came off the head looked terrible on my wrist. The strap did not wrap correctly. I am pleased to see this. Actually, my local watchmaker that attended Basel last year stated, the Asian markets are where the $$$ is. Not to stereotype or generalize, but many Asians tend to be of smaller build. I think this is driving the downsize the most. The western markets, especially the USA, where people are getting larger still have an equal demand for larger. Although fashion mavens think smaller and/or vintage are more stylish, and people think in a down economy you should not be flashing a big/blingy watch. Either way, wear what you like.
  10. I own Gen's and they have their place. I have recently sworn off high end Gens (even though I have some) from the Rolex/Omega/Panerais of the world and instead have fallen in love with the more Boutique brands like Doxa, Ball, Tutima, Muhle, etc. For the price of two or three REPS, you can have an awesome Gen from some of these makers. Funny, I am actually just the opposite and look for the ubiquity of ETA power. The reason being, after they are out of warranty-- I can EASILY fix them myself. I have had horrible experiences with Ebel and Omega in-house movements recently. Also, when something goes wrong on an in-house, be prepared to be without your watch for months. Also, Vintage Gens are another great area to explore.
  11. Yikes... All that bling prevents you from actually reading the dial. I never understood Gem Bezels on a watch where you NEED the bezel to utilize a watches feature. GMT/Diver.
  12. Rock Star! Looks great. Nice Peach colored lume and match job!
  13. Here are some crappy photos before I knock off for the night. Better photos to follow. So I guess this is what a NEW or Serviced 1675 would like if Rolex were still churning them out.
  14. Love it! Excellent. What movements were used? What REP case did you start with? (The 1655?) Also, ZK's Corino has an "Aftermarket" insert in it.
  15. T, glad you are up and at 'em again. Good Health to you in 2012 and beyond!
  16. Yup, anyone else remember adding entries to their hosts file. That is why this proposed legislation (SOPA/PIPA) granting DNS blackholes is doomed to fail. IP addresses and hosts to the rescue IF it ever did go thru. Rouge DNS servers located outside the USA to the rescue as well. But hey, remember "Corporations are People" now.
  17. Service insert installed. I might have this project complete tonight with any luck.
  18. Great watch ZK. Did I miss, in this thread, an itemized build list? I would love to see the parts list of how you built this beauty. It appears 1675's are all the rage these days.
  19. The case is a Gen, well cared for, polished only once by RSC, and is from my birth year. So the case is as old as I am. --- SUGGESTION NEEDED: Should I use the FAT Font insert which would be more correct for the year of the case? -or- Should I stay with my "Service" theme and use the NOS Service Thinner Font Insert?
