Awesome! You beat me, I had/have a similar build brewing for 2013! That looks awesome! Say, what Date Wheel did you use?

Nice review. Bigger Pics Please!

Classic! Love it!

Frequently, but don't tell my wife.

@gplracer Yes, you have to cut the feet, and the later model DG3804's seem to have a Date Wheel with "close enough" font to a service DW that aligns with a gen dial. The DG3804 also will fit in a GEN case with a Stilty/Yuki 1575 adapter with slight mods.

Hard to tell from the photo if they are creamy or it is incandescent light / white balance issue. But if it is yellowing, it might actually be a NOS (New Old Stock) dial and you are lucky. IF it really is a NOS Tritium dial with Tritium, $400 might not be a bad deal. The fonts place it somewhere in the late 1980's if I had to guess. Ask him if it glows after being charged by sunlight/uv/light... If it charges and glows it is Lumi.

Rolex and Seiko (Spring Drive) are the only movements I am aware of in an automatic that does what you want. ETA adjusts the 24hr hand.

To be clear, you are looking for a "Service Dial" right? There are a few different "Service Dial's" out there and the "Tritium" ones will either be: 1.) "Washed" dials (i.e. no actual Tritium, just the white paint where the lume is supposed to go - see also my 1680 Service Dial and Ubi's 1665 Dial, these are examples) 2.) Tritium labeled dial but Rolex applied Luminova. 3.) Most recent Service Dial will be labeled "Swiss" and will be Super Luminova Long story short, it might be a challenge to find an actual Tritium applied Service Dial.

True, there is a lot of information out there on people. You can however contact your cell phone provider and request CPNI is NOT utilized on your account. There is also a difference between active and passive data gathering and searching. You could always go to city hall or search public records for real estate transacions-- but most people don't/didn't. Fast forward, and pretty soon you can walk into a room with a SmartPhone, take a photo of someone and find out everything from Date of Birth, to how much they paid for their house-- and thanks to FaceBook-- their favorite [ insert whatever ], sexual orientation, marital status. When the invasion becomes that simple, it scares the $hit out of me personally. People who think: "...these invasions are never going to stop, so we might as well get used to it." or "I am not doing anything wrong, and have nothing to hide" are the ignorant people contributing to the erosion of privacy and security. Innovation is great, but at what expense? What if during the Civil Rights Movement Rosa Parks said: "African Americans will always have to sit in the back of the bus, so we might as well get used to it" !!!! I think the point some of us are trying to make is, FB is as much about "Social Engineering" as it is "Social Networking". Scroll back up and watch "The Onion's" humorous take on FaceBook and the CIA. Privacy is and should be the next battle ground.

Just a quick note, most DJ's have pie-pan dials and a different calendar retaining ring that make them more difficult to drop into MBW/Phong/Yuki/NDT cases for the tool watch you are most likely building (551x, 1680x, 1665, 1675). A "Date" instead of a "DateJust" is a better 1:1 swap.

Right. They are not keylogging. They are pulling data from sites that have FB scripts running on them (most sites these days), and creative mining of referer headers and use of iFrames. Google does essentially the same thing with Google Analytics. And since most people are lazy and stay logged in [ x ] Remember Me, they have the correlation they need. It also works in reverse. People who write to the FB API, get FULL ACCESS to your information, regardless of privacy settings. Example. Lets say you talk about bands on your FB page. You then go to listen to music at Pandora. Pandora can then mine your FB page for the bands you were talking about (because you are probably still logged in / cookies /etc). To some this is a convenience since Pandora now knows about you and you may need to have less interaction. To others this is a violation of privacy as a 3rd party web site just mined you (even though you agreed to it in the TOS that you probably did not read). Seriously, install Ghostery on Firefox or Chrome and just watch all FB calls. For those so inclined: How To Quit Facebook (even thought you Technically CAN NOT)

From some more surfing, the 24-5330 that F33 mentioned appears correct. 24-5320 seems to keep coming up for "ladies" DJ's, or possibly pre-70's models that may need broached inside to accept the crown.

Yes, more or less, unless you conscientiously logout every time and in some cases restart your browser, or don't visit sites with FB add-ons. There is a Firefox addon called Ghostery that I run that tells you/shows you all the calls back to FaceBook on nearly EVERY site you visit these day. Ghostery can be set to block all these calls. Another tip/trick for privacy freaks like myself is to: 1.) Set up a VM (Virtual Machine) ONLY for use with FB / Social Media 2.) Set up another (limited) user account on your machine (Mac/Win/Lin) and only use THAT account for FB / Social Media. I like the "burner VM" mentality because it is a total fsck you to FB since they can not data mine your other internet habits. It is simply single use for their piece of $hit site. (Can you tell I hate FB )

Looks pretty good. Crown looks gen. Looks like MBW elsewhere. The "pointed A" in SEA is the give-away. Depending how crazy you want to go, drill the lugs and call it a day, or do a dial & lugs and call it a day. Oh, and possibly a different pearl.

I have a feeling the 3 pack I ordered from Ofrei is simply wrong / mis-labeled. The OD is nearly 35mm. Went ahead and ordered from another source.

Ok, what am I missing here. I have 4 different 25-325-10 casback seals which are supposed to fit 1655, 1665, 1678, 1680, etc... Why does it seem too large in diameter to fit in the groove in the case. (GEN 1675). Thoughts?
-
Yes actually / possibly.
-
Thanks, and this is for a GEN case.

Anyone know off the top of their heads the correct part number for: SS Tube for 1675 (GMT) SS Crown for 1675 (GMT) 1970's era, but curious as to the "current" service replacement part numbers. TIA,

Yes, you can keep your existing dials. NDT are essentially re-dials and meant for gen movements. Only you can say if it is worth it. If the watch is wearing well, and you are happy, the bang for the buck might not be there for you.
