  1. The new Tutima chronographs are $5000. They use the 7750 as a base and make minor adjustments. The 1887 is almost all in-house from my understanding. Most high end watch companies adopt this technique of buying ebauches (primarily ETA) and making modifications/changing out parts to them. Doesn't seem fair to pick on Tag. I guess it's always more fun to pick on the big guy What's interesting with ETA pulling their ebauches to all but about 6 or 7 watch companies is that while they aren't selling the entire movement to the other watch companies where they withdrew, they can and are still selling parts a la carte.
  2. MSRP on most high end watches is ridiculous! 1887's can be found for about $2500 these days. Invictas are made in China!!
  3. WOW, cool photo! Is that Santa's workshop? Ditto peeps! My new years resolution: Keep it to 2 or 3 watch purchases in 2016. I went a little overboard this year
  4. OK, I'm going to be the one that says it "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"! I have a $200 Seiko (now on Pepsi bezel) diver and I love it!
  5. I dealt with OS on one occasion and he was a true gentleman. Rip Offshore and my thoughts go out to the family.
  6. Also, $100 for shipping and repair? Most of the dealers just say to send it back for replacement. Its not worth their time to actually repair it. Something ain't stirring the Kool Aid here folks
  7. Jesus, slow down brutha You're all about quantity!
  8. Dude, stay away! If you pay over $800 for a rep, well best of luck to you. The watches look like pictures of reps but they're ridiculously over-priced!
  9. Rolex! Ha, just messing witchya The cartels are stamped 93250 but are a decent option. At least they were a while back.
  10. Sounds like an easy fix. Do you feel comfortable opening up the watch and doing a little DIY? This is the risk you take from buying reps brutha. It can be hit or miss with this kind of thing. I had a 3777 a while back and the pushers fell out almost immediately. I simply took out the movement and re-attached the pushers with a little loctite. It's not worth sending the watch back IMO. It can take a while and you risk never seeing the watch again for a number of reasons. I've used Angus/Puretime for many years. Never had any issues. They are a trusted dealer here and on other forums.
  11. LOL. This is why I love this place!
  12. True! I also think there is a better appreciation of genuine watches here at RWG.
  13. It was this photo that inspired me to buy the gen. Unfortunately I sold it (to red). I miss that watch
  14. Thanks brutha! They're all gens.
  15. Damn! You're not messin' around. I had the rep years ago and sold it. I've always wanted the gen so when I saw the deal on ebay, I jumped on it. The seller accepted my low ball offer
  16. I've got an obsession with the Carrera: I also always wanted a Monza so picked up one of those too
  17. Agreed. I think I'll start looking for a replacement Thanks for the input guys.
