I think this will be as good as it will get. Hands look good now! I will wait for the black dial hopefully with correct nonblack hands and I think a matt dial finish. CG's will need a tweak but not much.

Amazing !!! It is making me want to build another now! I to am getting a TC band and hope it looks as good as the pics. The bralelet is the only thing on this that says rep and maybe the CG's looking slightly shorter than a gen case but hard to be sure in pics. You have the best Sub now buddy that is for sure!!!! Gen like construction on an SD16600 will be pretty unlikely and not that easy to rebuild yourself at home with any gen parts. It is a complex operation on this model. I'm sure there are some tech specs on the web somewhere for this.

I noticed that too. A real shame they did not make any effort with it. Biggest issue for me was the rehaut thickness and depth. Taking gen parts is not really life and death for me but the crown position would be better if they had a shallower rehaut depth.

I think I'm more excited about this project more than previous frankens is that it is almost completely genuine apart from the movement but even that will be replaced soon with a gen 79320 heart! Everytime I build a franken around a rep base something is always missing in either detailing or the fact that I cannot make it perfect in every respect(OCD I think!!). I always sell them becasue it annoys me!! This is different and the quality is so impressive on IWC's that is has given me a different buzz! I think Ubi will know what I mean as I see this level in his projects too! I don't mean to lessen the other frankens on this board as they are wonderful watches in their own right but it is just a feeling I have everytime! Hard to explain maybe! I wish the same to you and all the memebers here!!

I confirm that about the hands, they came from another source before I got to know Hugo. The bracelet was a lucky find! as they are silly money new!

Today my watchmaker friend has sent me my completed 3717 Franken!! This would not have been possible without Hugo's help with parts! Thanks buddy!! I have wanted to build a 3717 again since I had a franken with rep case and gen movement last year which I sold with regret. I had the chance to get a 2nd hand as new bracelet(hate straps!) so I decided it was time to build another with a gen case set etc. All you see is genuine on this beauty but it does have a standard swiss 7750 at present but will have a gen 79320 inside sometime in the New Year! I absolutely love this watch and the quality of the case set is wonderful and well worth the blood, sweat and tears to afford it all!!! It is so well finished and the gen crystal makes the dial jump out at you! No rep dial made comes even close the the gen dial!! The crispness of the recessed sub dials to the markers and the overall finish of the surface need to be seen in the flesh to appreciate the quality of it! The bracelets are expensive but built and finished to a standard only the very highest brands can reach and that does not include Rolex!(they are way down the list!) Please enjoy the quick pics I have taken so far! If you ever get the chance to have one built then go for it!! Cheers!

I notice it has the black subdial hand centres as mine will when built!! Looks beautiful though!!!!

Joshua told me a better version is coming soon but do not know when and I guess the new superduper! Seadweller 16600 may have the same movement inside, probably after Chinese NY!

I order 2-3 times a month from Cousins and have yet to have problems!! Customer service is dissapearing from everywhere these days!!! I deal on a daily basis with many business to business orders coming into my company and I bet half the telephone calls I make are to sort out [censored] ups!!

I have just been past my local IWC dealer in Leeds who has two 3717's in stock, one on a strap and one bracelet and guess what! the strap watch has black centres! Looks good actually as you still see the centre post in the middle on the hole. I have a rubbish phone so could not take a decent pic of them in the window as it was dark outside!! I don't feel quite so bad now and think the look is ok. People out there who have no knowledge on this rep world would not even notice the difference on a genuine watch and if they did would not care less I don't think! I have sold many genuine Rolex and Omega's over the years and often see differences in all aspects of the watch so I guess this is no different.

The rep shown is a BK model.

This is the updated version which has a better bezel and improved but not perfect crown guards. It is the best yet. I have not seen the white dial in person but have seen the rep and gen black dial in the flesh. The black dial version is closer but still has all black hands on the rep whereas the gen has silvered hands with just black at the base of the main hands. They are getting there but not 1:1 by a long way.

The qualtiy and detail in just the hands is very clear. I'm actually getting used to the idea of the all black centres now and it makes sense on an all black hand! I'm sure they will look fine when fitted. I'm not going to worry that people might think it is a rep as it clearly will not be! apart from the standard ETA 7750 inside that is!!

No bracelet will not fit. 20mm on the gen.

Today I received my gen hand set from IWC for my superfranken 371704 project. The first thing I noticed is that the little chrono dial hands no longer have the steel tube visible in the centre. It is now black to match the rest of the hand! I used to like that bit!! Over the coming weeks I'm building a watch for myself using a gen case set and dial and hands etc. I'm using a swiss 7750 rather than an IWC 79320 as I can't afford that option right now as I bought a 2nd hand gen bracelet for it! Outwardly it will be gen and I will save up for a 79320 next year. Here is a pic of the hands.

I have had this problem too. Poor finishing I'm afraid. I stripped the watch down and polished the rehaut and then re-brushed it. not an easy job though.

The black dial models have beautiful bright white lume! I wish the blue did too. They have changed the date font recently too. Enjoy! Can't wait for my new ceramic SMP to come in.!!
