As far as I know the only maker of this stuff is RCTritec in Switzerland and you can buy direct from them.

Yeah got my QC pics today and the dial does look very good. Maybe th early orders like ours are being shipped on the 9th and the next batch are 14th?! Looking forward to getting this as it's my first rep and first Panerai for quite some time! Bye the way mine is K0449/1200

I beleive it depends on which gasket is used but that said the photo makes the crystal appear much higher than it is. It is not so proud in reality and I have owned genuine Subs that have varied too.

I bought a 16610 bezel from which is not going to be gen at $55 but are not very clear on stating otherwise! When it arrived it was an aftermarket yachtmaster bezel so waiting for them to receive it back and rectify the problem.

Tribal and I have used V2 with 2824 movement cases with no issues and I currently have a V2 case sat here with gen tube, crown and 2836 movement and looks fine. The V3 compared to the V2 crown height position is very small and the V3 still has a slightly lower position to the gen case. The V3 as stated does have too much metal removed from the guards causing the crown to sit too close to the case and bezel. This was to be rectified on the newest production of WM9 V3 cases but as we all know George has goe off to do other ore lucrative things! The TW Sub case that BK is getting very soon will have the benefits of the V2 case to the eye. WM9 was also Taiwan based and very likely the same moulds could be in use on this watch but who knows! Here is a pic of my V2 case with a 2824-2 movement fitted. All parts except the hands and DW are genuine on this superfranken I built but no longer own.

Hi guys Sorry I had noticed any new additions to this post for a while. Fitting the gen bezel would require the making of a metal ring to fit onto the rep case to make up the fairly large difference between the case and gen bezel. The gen bezel fits in the same way but the gen case has a much thicker rehaut area where the crystal fits. I'm sure it could be done but I was happy to bond mine in place and save all the sanding of the gen insert! I no longer have the watch. Good luck with your project. P.S. the ETA datewheel is identical to the omega supplied item, just in a diffreent packet. White on black 2824-2 DW's can be quite hard to source so if anyone wants one I think I have a couple somewhere in my parts draw!

That was a different George from Europe who used to sell MBW watches etc out of Greece If my memory serves me correctly. George(WM9) I'm sure is still very much around but for many reasons he has shelved the Watchmaker9 brand but not done it very honourably though. He has much larger interests than that in his home land but his complete lack of response will remain a mystery maybe for ever but who knows what really goes in on the mind of a person during tough times

Got tracking number today from Joshua but It will not work until after Chinese New Year I suppose.

Confirmation of payment and shipping on 9th Feb sent this morning to me.

It looks very good for the price so I too have ordered one! At least with a closed back you can slip in a swiss movement should the asia one be no good after a while!

Wearing my newly acquired daily watch, Citizen Signature Grand Complication. Very well finished i must say. Ar is superb too!

We have owned a Boxster for the last 5 years and it has been good but only does around 5000 miles a year. I have heard a few horror stories though! They do sound sweet though, ours is the 3.2S

Range Rover Sport- Anyone have one or know someone that does?
watcher replied to ubiquitous's topic in The looney bin
I think I was lucky! I bought a bbrand new supercharged Sport 3 years ago and have had very little issue wth it over 28000 miles. They are very expensive to run though even in diesel form. Budget at least £2-3K a year fro servicing costs. I have just switched to an Audi Q7 diesel and it runs rings round the RR for refinement and poise on the road! If I bought another it would have to be the classic Range Rover and not another sport. -
Hours markers now have thinner rings as per the gen watch. Bezel teeth still not quite right but overall it is good enough. If you want perfection buy a gen!

This watch does not come from or as far as I know have anything to do with WM9 watches. This is a Taiwan produced watch as is WM9's but I think they are different factories. This watch has a great SEL and a very sweet crystal and correct date font but does not have superlume. The bracelet used to have solid mid links but not sure about these new ones. Enjoy your lovely watch

Gen construction refers to the fitment of the bezel assembly to the watch. On cheap Sub replicas you have a fixed method for securing the crystal to the case with a compressed plastic gasket. On the real and better reps(WM9 and Bk's new Sub) you have a separate crystal retaining ring on which the bezel fits. This is what is mean't by the term. It does also make the rep able to take genuine parts to it hence the desire for these models. Bk's new Sub will be a good alternative to the now dissapeared WM9.

Datewheel overlay for ETA 2824 for Genuine Dial?
watcher replied to marrickvilleboy's topic in The Rolex Area
A gen dial fits a WM9/Bk dw perfectly on a 2824 style movement. Done it and here is a pic. -
That does look amazing! The cg need slightly more attention and it will look very convincing. biggest issue is that the crwon sits higher in the guards on a gen watch. Here is a couple of pics of mine to compare with. Enjoy your masterpeice!!!

I think you have the model number wrong! The WM9 and the BK watch you talk of are based on the traditional 16610 Submariner. THe 116610 is the new ceramic sub and not due to be built in gen like construction for quite some time if indeed ever! Keep an eye out for BK's offerings as he always delivers something worth waiting for!

The Rolex Submariner 16610 vs. the Rolex Submariner 116610
watcher replied to PeteM's topic in The Rolex Area
I have owned several genuine Sub 16610 models over the years and now own the genuine 116610 and it has grown on me to the point that the previous model now feels poorly made and cheap in comparison to the ceramic model. The finishing and especially the bracelet now feel that of an expensive watch. The clasp is beautifully made and the solid mid links give it a more robust feel. The watch case feels better made and the bezel feels smoother and more precise. It has much more wrist presence than the previous version and catches the light nicer too. As you can tell I'm now a convert and this model will in time be an icon as previous versions have become. -
Sure am buddy, I love these projects! I have asked King for my watch and already ordered a crown and tube I wonder if this case mould is any differrent from the 4th gen in it's basic forum. I will do my bit to help the form when it arrives and gets stripped ready for action!
-
This has many flaws. It will be a good base for modding but it is far from a finished product. End links do not look good and looking at the pic on the timer they seem to have the big gap issue as 4th gen models did. The crown is down right horrible and will need the genuine tube and crown mod straight away! The other things are small fussy bits I guess but they will eat at you until you give in to the gen parts route!!!

Anyone here live there and can give me an idea of what clothing we will need and will we see any sun! Cheers!

Look what I put to together :) (45.5mm Franken)
watcher replied to plaifender's topic in The Omega Area
Very nice and good work. The thought of it is usually worse than the doing! Omega have changed the AR coatings recently and are now more durable and in some watches I have seen there is very little tint at all. Enjoy!
