  1. BK is shipping me one of these shortly so I'll do a little review when it comes.
  2. I agree that the price of the rep is great. I might buy one and do a side by side comparison!
  3. The gen watch that Joshua shows just is not right and why you are all searching the web for gen pics when I posted some good pics of my gen 1655 I don't know!! You can see in the top picture that the rehaut is all worng on the rep. It should not be thick and visible like on the Sea dwellers and on the side profile showing the crown, the gen crown is central just like the rep. This is not possible! See my gen below. The crown is above centre as with all 1570/1575 models. Here is another picture showing the dial detail. The outer markers should indeed touch the rehaut. THe straight seconds hand was only on the Series 1 as was the folded band with 385 endlinks. THe series 2,3,4 had the dot seconds hand with 78360 bracelet and 580 endlinks. Just my thoughts Joshua! and I have a gen in front of me!
  4. The exp 1655 is not a GMT watch and should not have an adjustable hand! The orange hand was there purely to show whether you were in am or PM when caving. This was not a popular watch when new and is surprise as to why it realizes so much money now!
  5. Interesting comparing with my gen but the dial is horrible. The rehaut is too thick, bezel numbers are too large, folded bracelet was on series 1 only which means the seconds hand should be straight but these do vary a lot on gens too!. DW should be a nice silver colour. 24hour hand too red to name but a few flaws that would need addressing. Biggest problem though is the crown position being too low in the guards. It's workable but no way have they bought a gen watch for this !!
  6. This is post 1000!!!! an dI'm wearing this again!
  7. Very sweet looking Sub! Enjoy
  8. Cannot show you a picture of my pussy magnet wrong message board for that Actually they seem to like watches with blue AR. Iwc is a classy understated attraction and shows a lady you are not a full on poser!Omega wroks too but never Rolex!
  9. The paperwork dates the watch being sold in October 1981 so I guess it sat a while. These were not very popular unlike now! Cheers!
  10. Simply cannot take this off!!!
  11. Here are a few more pics of my latest purchase! A 5.5mil 1655 in original untouched condition from the first and only owner! Not a model I like too much before but it is growing on me as I wear it. The patina is wonderful and I have no desire to change it and spoil 30 years of care! It has a hacking non quickset 1570 inside in beautiful clean condition! Silver DW and 2 oyster bands. The origanl has a broken clasp and was replaced in 1992. To actually have my hands on a genuine vintage Rolex of such importance is quite humbling!! I do unfortunately have to sell this as that was the reason for buying her! but I will enjoy wearing this beauty until that day comes!! Enjoy the pics my friends!
  12. This is 100% genuine and yes it is currently mine although for sale. It has come from the original owner and dates to 1976. It is wonderfully orginal! It does have a silver DW. Will put some more pics up later today
  13. What do you guys think of this one???
  14. You are best to buy away from London. Most dealers of used prestige brands in Central London charge ridiculous premium figures!
  15. Putting this little number on for the remainder of the day before putting her up for sale
  16. Another Rolex straight after an England win!

All I need to say plus well done to USA!
  18. This was the one. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DATE-DISC-ROLEX-SUBMARINER-3035-WHITE-CHAMPGN-PARTS-/310094833922?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item483317a902
  19. I will try and find the DW I bought from his list. My Ebay feedback will not let me see it as I bought the wheel more than 90 days ago. It does turn the date in the correct way but does need some of the thickness removing from the back to clear the dial.
  20. It stands me roughly at $2500. Not too much cheaper than a gen I guess but fun to build. I enjoy sourcing the parts and putting it all together.
  21. A 2836 will fit fine with the correct movement ring.
  22. I understand what you are saying and this is the biggest issue with the V3 cases! You will see on my pics that the V2 case lugs are shorter which is mainly due to the case not having as much metal removed from between the Cg's. The problem is that when the crown is fully screwed in it nealry touches the bezel on a V3! A gen crown tube may improve it slightly and your watch will look better if you are able to shorten the lugs. I don't understand why WM9 did this as it was a step back from the V2 case!
  23. It was not easy to do because of the thickness. My watch started life as a V3 and as such comes with a thick brass retainng ring for the movement which has the gen dial bonded to it. There is more room beneath the dial than there would be with a little spacer ring like normally used on eta movements. Actually looking back through my buying list, the DW is not gen. It came from Wholesaleoutlet as an aftermarket 3135 DW but it is much better printed than the WM9 DW. Sorry about that!
  24. Not too sure on the dial. I think they were 2001 era. The print is so crisp and white on this one. A friend got me the dial. It was new old stock.
  25. I have not pressure tested it as such but have been swimming with no issues. I don't know anyone with a machine unfortunately, I'm curious if it now has the same tolerances as a gen Sub. Everything fits nice and tight and flush!
