It fitted Ok but not as tight as I would like so I have ordered some gen gaskets from Cousins but they are currently out of stock. Mine is fine but I would not trust it in water yet.

I had to recess the the hole slightly as the gen valve has a collar that made it sit away from the case and also had to make the hole slightly larger and as I did not know the thread pitch etc I bonded mine in place but it works as it should. @matt Am I right in thinking youre a Huddersfield lad?

Sorry ! I don't think the 4th gen is too bad but it is bloody awful on the 5th gen and it had to go!!

I bought a UK based 42 PO from a very nice member earlier this week as I always felt the UPO was a little too clumsy for everyday wear and so the transformation has begun! Yesterday I fitted a gen crown and tube and a gen He valve. I have fitted a gen crystal today. Tomorrow a gen black bezel will arrive from Cousins. I already have a gen DW and hands but sadly they were out of stock on the dial even though they told me it was in stock! I feel the bracelet on my watch is pretty good and the thick clasp is not really an issue so I have just oredered a pair of genuine 952 end links as I did with the 951's on my Franken UPO last year. It should cure the gap issue nicely. I'm quite impressed with this watch and it does make a nice base for modding. They have threaded the He valve and crown tube but sadly the valve thread is not big enough and the crown tube thread is too big!! Ah well...... Here is a couple of pics of my progress so far. Will hopefully be completed by the end of the month if Cousins get a shift on with the parts!

I have just oredered 2 gen 952 end links from Cousins and should have them in 2-3 weeks. I did this on my UPO Franken last year and it worked a treat! The rest of the 42mmm band is good enough and far better than a UPO band! clasp is a little thicker but that is no real issue for me. I will post pics when I have fitted it all together!

You will be charged customs duty when bought through Ofrei. Cousins is pretty easy to navigate once you get case number info from either on here somewhere or from Ofrei's site. I order from Cousins nearly every week and they are good and quite often cheaper than ofrei after you take tax into consideration!

Bk's current overlay is very good and a little better that it was when I built the V2 franken. I have compared it to my gen Ceramic Sub and the DW's are identical now. The only difference really between the V2 and V3 is the slightly higher crown position of the V3 and the slightly deeper lugs of the V3.

It is very rare to read about what happens to a watch from it's beginnings so I will add to this story. I was the original owner of the EE6263 in question and still very much regret selling to M!!! I still think it was one of the best visually and it came with 2 bezels and a box set! They were around a $1000 back in the day which was a lot of money for a rep even by today's super rep standards! I knew very litle about modding with gen parts back then and it would be great to see how it looks after the transplant! I wonder if ExtraExtra still has any lying around!! Mine was the same but i've had this before on these. I took the back off and it started working so I blew the hairspring and checked the balance wheel was free and it has been fine ever since. It was running at around +20mins per hour for the first few hours but it has settled down to being fine over the last 24 hours. Fingers crossed! If I ever find a 6497-2 I might be tempted if the price is right otherwise it might have to be a tourby 6497-1 at some point as this watch is worth the investment in my opinion! If you are not confident then send it back to your dealer.

That looks very good and the insert is a good rich blue as per a new gen insert. If you are only concerned with the pearl I may have a gen pearl in my toolbox. I buy and sell around 30 SMP's a year and sometimes keep odd bits if I refurb them. As far as I know all 2531.80 SMP autos have always had internal AR but some 2541.80 Quartz models did not in my experience. Shoot me a pm if you want a pearl and I will have a good look through my parts bin!

I received my 005K from Josh today and have to say this is probably one of the best finished reps I have seen in a very long time. The details are very crisp and well finished off. The crown does have a small gap from the case and the CG is perfectly finished and operates lovely! The lug screws are smooth and polished both ends. Superlume is very strong and exactly as the genuine watch. Only thing I'm not sure about is the boldness of the dial print. It could be very slightly thicker but not bad enough to worry about. I have fitted a Watchboys ultrasoft calf strap to mine as I'm not into rubber! Here are a couple of wrist shots for you as there are already plenty of other photos of this beauty. Also I would find it hard to call out if I saw somebody wearing it!

I will post a pic when the watch is wearing it. You can find them on ebay. Its a nice thick strap and for £19 you can't really go wrong.

Mine is coming from Josh. My Watchboys tan strap arrived today in anticipation of the 005 arrival! Great value for money, it even has tubes in place!

This is painful as mine is still going through uk customs!! It looks superb! Enjoy
