  1. I have just purchased an original perfect condition triplock crownn from a sixties Daytona/Sub/SD1665 with the more tapered inner edge( the experts will know the one hopefully) I intend fitting it to my 6263 or a 1665 SD MBW but I do not know which crown tube I need to look for. It threads onto a new style cousins triplock tube but not all the way as the early tubes were not as long and I'm hoping one of the mod guys can help me! I had a quick look on Ebay but did'nt see anything. Can anyone help????!!!!! Pics included to better understand what I mean. modern OEM crown on the left and next pic on my 6263 with modern triplock crown. It screws on but not all the way.
  2. Glad your back Mark and my dial is great. Thanks! Some people are never happy whatever the scenario so I would'nt worry about it too much if at all!!!
  3. This kit is a load of [censored]!!!!!!! I bought this early on in my quest for a VJ72 Daytona kit. The hands are rubbish, the case is the wrong shape and does not fit a 72 inside at all and the rest of it is just plain cheap and nasty. Buy at your peril!

It went through customs in 3 minutes without a problem and went missing sometime after that. Eddie has told me how it was packed so I will tell them tomorrow and see if we can get somewhere.

I don't think I'm destined to get this watch. The second one Eddie sent vanished after passing through customs last Thursday teatime and has not been seen since. Problem is that Parcelforce Internaional now want to know what is in the package so they can find it!!!!!! I'm [censored] off with this whole transaction and industry and this may be my last rep purchase, certainly the last via a dropshipping method.
  6. If I saw this on another forum I would say genuine. It looks suspiciously good to me...............
  7. As far as I'm concerned Joshua and Andrew might as well be the same person..........................They do exactly the same thing at exactly the same time How strange! Might have to deal with you Neil
  8. I have the steel bracelet version but I think they are the same and I did mean the screws into the case lug not the strap. Also I do not think the case is exactly the same on the two versions, steel and rubber so it may not be possible to fit a bracelet to the rubber version. I fitted a rubber strap to my MBW Offshore but the fit is not perfect due to the shape of the cutouts in the case. Here is a pic of mine with rubber fitted
  9. Only down side of this case is the fact that direct from MBW you also gets the hands and dial with the case. Good luck with the sale. Do you have the hands available for sale too???
  10. The screws are a short pin that goes through the end link with a thread where it enters the case. There is one at each side and do not travel through the case like a Panerai.
  11. I'd love to find out where to get a vintage Daytona that Ken lists on his site. None of the dealers have the correct dial spacing that these appear to have. Sorry to get off brand!
  12. This is the TW best Seadweller because I have just received one from River as a project watch and for less money too. All details are identical inlcuding the different thicker dial font only seen on TW and some MBW variants. Also the caseback sticker is indicative of TW watches.
  13. THe Ferrari I received did have the tracking number from V's shipment but I think King has mixed up the numbers as the wrapping was all written correctly for me to receive but had the number from V's! She should send you another if it has got lost.
  14. I had the genuine on my wrist on Sunday in Spain and it did not appear to have any effective form of AR and certainly not as good as a Panerai which I also looked at(pam90 power reserve!). I would appear to be the first to see this rep and now I've viewed it under my bathroom Halogen lights it does have single side AR and quite good too. I will go and see the gen again and see for sure. The rest of the watch feels equally as good as the genuine watch and the clasp is well finished with good engraving of the 'Ferrari' on the closer. I have removed it from packing and taken a picture of the dial and you will be able to see the effects of the AR coating under halogen lights. Sorry I will have to post it later. Bloody imageshack is messing me about again!!!
  15. Toady I received a Ferrari Chrono for a friend and the quality is very impressive. Sorry I have no pics of it as my camera is not charged and it has been sent on to it's destination address. It is from King and I can confirm it has AR coating applied to the inside giving a blue outline under strong light conditions and good clarity. It actually looks better than the genuine model I looked at on Sunday. The crystal has very little distortion even at narrow angles of view. The weight is very good and it feels and looks as good as the gen. The strap is pretty good too but a little thinner than the gen with less padding. You will all love this watch when they arrive and I personally think the QC is better than Panerai reps for sure. They really are stepping up the finish on reps in 2007!!

Eddie has sent me tracking tonight and for some reason has posted out another watch today hence the unusual delay I guess. I wonder where the first one is???
  17. I looked at the genuine Chrono today in Marbella and it does not have any AR. If it does then it is unaffective compared to a Panerai next to it.
  18. Why does everyone assume all that does'nt look right on Ebay is fake!!! Like you have held so many real crowns in your hand!!! As V says, they do not look that different from his gen just received and I've never seen reps for sale anywhere with a rep crown like these!!!
  19. If my Pilot ever arrives!! I intend getting The Zigmeister to do a swap over to swiss and he says it is not that hard to adjust the subdial hands to fit. The main hands are the same I beleive.

I feel like whining today. No response from Eddie, No tracking to prove it has even been sent and no watch today either. My last correspondance from Eddie was 10 days ago saying he did not have my tracking number but it would arrive early last week. Well it didn't and that is what annoys me. I'm getting very bored of this now and the excitment of seeing this watch is slowly dissapearing! I know i'm not a newbie and should no better but this has now become the worst deal I've done in my 4 years of rep collecting and probably the last. I'm ready for the comments!!!
  21. Congrats, there is nothing like a genuine watch. They have a finish the reps just don't have! Also it is now quite clear and something I and other members have said, the font on the genuine dial is NOT white but an offwhite colour and the most obvious flaw to me on the reps. I imagine the difference when holding both in your hands will make the rep easier to spot. Enjoy the fruits of your work!

I guess I have got used to 3 days from River! He will be missed! Only bought once from Neil and that was a long time ago now. Eddie has been good in the past and I think the issue is with his contacts in Taiwan not being very efficient. Also I guess the timing for this watch after the CNY was not condusive either.
  23. Only comment I can make is that I bought River's latest TW SD and it bears no real resemblance the the TW's of old. I have dealt with River since the beginning and this is not a comment against him but more that the TW's are not the same grade they once were.
