Here's a shot of the insert 4 hours after the torture and the chemical bath... (never mind the scratches...it was me with my new dremel... )

Hello guys, I'm experimenting with bezel insert and 'vintagizing procedures'...I have read cautionary tales of fellow forum members about leaving the insert in the 'bath' too long ...usually over 1/2 hour... So I dipped my bezel insert (from RaymondLee Jewelers) in a progressive torture bath... 1) espresso (apparently works for Panerai only ) 2) detergent (palmolive) 3) 1/2 water for 1 hours (with 10 minute check ups)... NOTHING...still shining ... black as new then 4) more detergent (tide with bleach) 5) NaCl (salt) 4) H2O2 (peroxide) for another hour...NOTHING I got a great antiseptic-cleaner that can be used for superficial wounds and washing dishes then 5) more salt 6) citric acid (lemon juice) 7) pine sol (that irresistible fresh scent) for another hour NOTHING.....NOTHINGGG!!! I got an antiseptic-dishwashing fluid- hemorroid cleanser that smells like a chemical bomb but can be used to spike a tea. so I added scrubbing bubbles...(it that rips the grime off my bath tiles...) NOTHING....another hour and NOTHING... I'm running out of detergents at home...so where can I get kryptonite? any ideas...??? Alex

Thank you Pugs!! I gave it a go based on your pictorial...I never used a nato strap before but the Bond rolex sub no-date has an appealing flair and a high coolness factor if judiciously wore... I bought that flexible strap in the US (Westcoastime) but I ordered a couple of (apparently) high quality straps at NATO Straps in the UK... I'll let you know as soon as I received them... I also changed the pearl on the insert (thanks Randy! ) and with these two simple variations (strap and pearl) the watch looks ostensibly better... Cheers, my friends!

Actually, I side with the judge...his actions were appropriate...it was a case of hardened criminals...

This is what the seller replied when I asked him to post pictures of the movement and the case... This watch is authentic I swear it on the head of my children. This watch belongs to one of my friends who asked me to sell it for him on ebay in order to obtain the positive maximum of evaluation. Then, stopped making slandering... Can anyone check on this watch...(it looks beyond fake to me) short minute markers, no bold 5th minute markers, thin date, wrong font spacing on Oyster Perpetual Date.... :yucky: Cheers Alex

Just one thought I wanted to share...some of the Sea Dwellers (if not most of them though I'm not sure about Josh's and the MBW's in general)...have the same case dimensions as the submariner...I don't care much about the 1 mm difference in width (the SD having the slightly smaller crystal and bezel) but the way that the gen SD 'sits on the wrist' is a bit different...(the gen rides higher)... I was reading Pugwash's tutorial on how to properly fit the NATO strap on a watch (thanks Pugs ) and decided to buy one and try it on the SD...the effect of the 'double back' nato strap on the watch makes it sit much higher on the wrist...like a gen SD....! An easy and non expensive way to overcome a minor pet peeve... Cheers! Consider that just a fraction of what you would have lost...outside of RWG dealers...The quality of some of those watches is repugnant...(checked some Rolexes and Omegas)...I had great transactions with Josh, TTK, Eddie, Andy and PT...and their quality is far superior...so enjoy, read, research, learn and then buy...
