  1. Yes, the ones stormtrooper linked are exactly the same as TB's.
  2. I bought this one for Ploprof: http://cgi.ebay.com/24mm-Stainless-Steel-Watch-Band-mesh-bracelet-buckle-/150467889465?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item230895c939 (someone elses link, i paid too much from paneraiboutique). Before fitting to ploprof I checked it roughly with my SOH clasp. No garantees, but it looks like it will fit. Of course with the Plop clasp though, all the 'links' are hidden, so it looks good, this wouldn't be the case with the SOH. Just fyi
  3. No probs, it actually can be microadjusted by about 8mms, but my above sizing measure^ was at the smallest adjuestment. It was about 1.5cm still too long. I.d guess you would need about a 8.5 wrist to wear this snug with the soh. The seiko prince is is the one i use on SOH, it's not ideal, but for the price its surpisingly good.
  4. I've never been tempted by these... till now. Man, that looks tight!
  5. I asked my watchsmith and two jewelers, all of which i have good relationships with, to perform the mod your talking about. None of them would touch it because it's stainless. Fyi, my wrist is 7.5 and it's unwearable with SOH. And I like my bracelets a little loose. Sorry.
  6. Yep, been big news up here in Bris lately too. I got skimmed at point of sale in Tokyo at xmas time last year... They made a couple test transactions (3 bucks to a couple charities like British red cross) then the bank caught it as they tried to buy 15grands worth of lLadies clothes from Italy. My bank (BOQ) were very good about it - they contacted me before i knew and less than half hour after the attempted 15grand transaction. So I agree, even if you think you're being careful already... be even more careful.
  7. Excellent! Thanks for the pics...Do you mind me asking how much it cost? I asked the local AD here about the rubber yest and its 270AUD (about 240US) but comes without the clasp...
  8. This is the one i want as well, to my knowledge, it is not repped yet.
  9. Would be interesting to see what BVW would offer for them... this is right up their alley. brisbanevintagewatches.com
  10. I have the sneaky-ist custom built in floor stash spot. Even if i pointed it out to you, you wouldn't be able to see it. Its very clever. mind you it was done as part of a major renovation a few years ago, inside are multiple custom safe boxes. I really should keep my watches in there though.
  11. hehe, yeah, should have mentioned - not very spicy (hot) at all if you're sensitive. Its not at all like 'chilli anything' as you'd think of in the west. In fact the black pepper one is 'hotter' than the chilli. Yeap the above was mamoth - with a claw nearly as thick as my forearm. Took an hour and a half to eat. Do try the rojaK (rujak) as gtanak mentioned and i'll reccomend the penang Rojak- ooh my mouth is watering. I didn't want to say before, but a lot of my peers consider SG a bit boring compared to many parts of SE Asia. I disagree. You just gotta know where to stick your nose in the cracks. Think more about eating and shopping than reps though. in many trips to singas and exploring alleys and back streets in my spare time, i've never seen one. Oh and one last myth to dispell from my peers is that its expensive to drink... it's not. It is if you drink at yr hotel/resort but thats the same anywhere. A top beer like asahi at the bar i mentioned above where the staff where black tie costs about two thirds that it does in aus. Oh and Clark Quay is the nighclub district where you'll find mostly young very trendy good looking people. Enjoy Don't litter and dress sharp. Edit: oh, back on the topics of watches - wear your best. i've come across very few places where the wristwatch as status symbol is prized so highly. Seriously. The saturation of AD's and watch boutiques is simply jawdropping. You won't beleive it until you've been.
  12. I like it! In fact i have a black bezel on the way for my Noob lv
  13. You won't find much, if anything, in the way of reps in in Singas. But you'll find many high end watch boutiques and multiple AD's in the city (literally in every shopping centre - like pubs in England, they seem to be on every corner, sort of). If you have a chance to skip over to MY you'll find many reps and even the high end that our dealers stock. There are a couple SG members here who I chat to, but I won't out them . But be sure to try the chilli crab (or black pepper crab), it's like the unofficial national dish and to die for, if done well. And be sure to have a beer at sunset at the "New Asia bar" (formerly Equinox) at the Swissotel. One of the best bar views I've ever seen. If brand name luxury items are on the shopping list, SG is one of the best destinations for it in the world. Attached. There are many cheaper (and possibly more traditional) places for Chilli crab in SG but I can reccomend the Grand Hyatt near orchard RD for an amazingly good one. And the view from the New Asia bar - an 82nd floor bar with a grand view
  14. Congrats and good luck! If the missus is doing Princess Leia I have a tip for you. I recently went to a starwars theme and my lateral thinking date clipped "danish pastry swirls" to near her ears to get the hair style right. It was very funny and got a lot of comments.
  15. Something bigger than 44mm. SOH perhaps. I mean... It is the 90's right?
  16. Just let us know the payment options. this is no problems at all.
  17. Just for sh!ts and giggles... I want one.
  18. They say one of, or maybe some of, the Ebel reps are the most accurate. But IMO, they are also the yawniest repped watches out there...
  19. For my mind it looks good on both the rubber and mesh (I prefer the mesh): I have the good leather too, but it really doesn't suit IMHO
  20. Good luck Jaymoi, a Filipina friend gave me this advice. "Yes, it can be dangerous but act your size, listen and learn and should be not much problem". By act your size, I assume she meant don't take any crap. Good luck and will be interested to hear how it pans out for you. Please post back and Ingat ka palagi.
  21. I agree with all above, items in or out of Singas are very safe but sometimes slower than you think. (and also sometimes much faster than you'd think - have had 2 days to Aus).
