My next gen - Oris Aquis Depth Gauge
txcollector replied to txcollector's topic in Other Brands Area
that's a first time I've seen a mechanical depth gauge on a watch that's not absurdly expensive. Very nice addition to my diving gear Interesting approach. The depth gauge is embedded on the crystal so it appears to be floating over the dial. I've heard it's gorgeous in real life. -

definitely getting this one when it's out. http://oceanictime.blogspot.com/2013/01/oris-aquis-depth-gauge.html http://www.ablogtowatch.com/oris-aquis-depth-gauge-watch/

There are two types of gator straps for pam: one that's very glossy and the other that has a more subdue surface (not really matte but not glossy either). I'm not sure you can go from one to the other. The glossy gator is out of production and actually hard to find. The best bet would be to sell it and get the right one. PS: I have both and they have their uses I think the glossy one goes great with the likes of 29. It dresses up the watch. and the "matte" one on my manual wind

he's too "rough" to be Bond. Bond is a sleek character that doesn't fit the brute persona that Gerard has. A Bond needs to look great in a tux and awesome kicking ass. I think he only does the second part.

how would anyone get an idea like that

from what I've heard: 1) apply a product to make it water resistant before you wear it for the first time 2) Keep it on a shoe tree to suck out the sweat and oils from your feet 3) Apply conditioner once every 3 months to keep the leather moisturized, even if you don't wear them 4) Polish your shoes with a color specific or colorless shoeshine every 5 wears (10 max) Why would you do this at work? You will need to keep the brushes and the polishing cloth there too. That's the kind of thing I'd do at home.

The sad part is the original IWC 1908 gold pocket watch would be a much better investment than this fantasy piece. Like it was said before these conversion pieces are barely worth the parts value and in this case the only part worth anything could be the movement. However without the other original parts for the pocket watch who would need a 1908 IWC movement?

the cyclops is suppose to line up. To fix it you have to remove the crystal and reposition which can be a pain. If you don't have experience doing that just leave it alone.

Finally some Nautilus movement pics...

I wonder why they went for relief on the Patek symbol vs the engraved that appears on the gen. I'd think the engraving would be easier to pull off. -

at least they have to stop firing to reload. It gives a tactical advantage to take the shooter down. -
First thing, you should never manually wind a 7750 movement. Not sure who told you to do it. I'm not sure what model you have so it's very hard to know. It could be a number of things from dirt, to lack of oils to a busted mainspring. Whatever the issue is nothing with a 7750 is an easy fix. Send to Uwe.

I rest my case. You reduced the evolution of this country to a democratic society that went thru its shares of hardships like the Civil War, civil rights movement, etc. to the magical power of the 2nd amendment. Do you think the government fears you because of guns? They only fear being voted out of office. Given the amount of time, effort and money that's spend on elections and public opinion I think you are delusional to put faith on that thought. -

Nanuq, like your examples have clearly demonstrate guns used for protection are effective and having the options to use the one that's more efficient for your case should be your right (like your shotgun example). I don't think anyone here would argue differently. What's absurd is to think there should be no responsibility/accountability and that everything is permissible. High capacity magazines, military style weapons. armor piercing bullets, gun shows. etc. should be regulated and/or banned. Other than the people making money with those and crazy paranoid "the government is coming for me" types there's very little disagreement in the society like the recent polls show. -

The nightmare in your head must be unbearable. All this paranoia and insurrection dreams must do a number on you. -

using an extreme right wing "media" source the employs the likes of Alan West is really not a good way to prove a point. I'd like to see a credible impartial analysis to support your claim. Data can be manipulated to support any point. Example: "assume nobody in my street has a gun. We never had a violent crime or even simple home invasion here in the past 20 years. Therefore my conclusion is neighborhoods without guns are the safest".
