  1. Crude to say the least; a snapshot of the DW mystery movement. It looks rough... And most of them fail pretty quickly. This is one of the few exceptions I think (it helps that it's been serviced by Zig)... Been running strong for the last 7 years...
  2. So true! The 16610 is an absolute classic; one of those timeless pieces that looks good now, and will continue to do so in another 50 years.
  3. Thanks much, gang. The back is a Preik; very well done item and a little different for a Rolex. I figure that the bulk of this build was dial/hands and movement; might as well be able to see it all! By-Tor; the collection is holding steady right at around 10 pieces or so, which is really where I like to keep it. Trying to maintain too many watches can be more than enough to keep my hands full with regards to servicing/overhauls etc. While I try and complete 2 to 3 decent builds per year, I'm finding that taking the kids to Disneyland every 3 months is even more fun watcher- Thanks, sir, however you have quite the ability as well! Actually, it was one of your threads that really made me consider doing an LV for a Summer watch I started off with the thought of maybe doing just the maxi dial/hands with an LN bezel, but before long I found myself really appreciating the LV bezel as well. Certainly nice for a change and to add a little color to the collection!
  4. V23; no 6:00 register on either Swiss V23 or the DW misery movement; the 6:00 hand is more or les glued on. For Mrs. Ubi... She's fine with that. But for V72, I'd recommend just starting from parts, not a base watch to convert/modify: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/120135-daytona-6265-ubi-style/
  5. If yours is the mystery movement then swapping the V23 is 1:1; one comes out and the other goes in The V72 won't fit becuase of the height of the movement; that 6:00 register adds some height. No; true mystery movements are similar to a V23. Not quite a V23 but the closest thing to. Their origin is unknown, but with regards to function/layout/design, they emulate the V23.
  6. Mrs Ubi has an old DW with Mystery Movement: The movement can be swapped out with a Swiss V23, but not a V72 as the crown position is different between the two. If your MM is one of the few that is running well, I'd just leave the movement as-is.
  7. Love the clean/pristine look!
  8. The code on mine (which was purchased as a v2/v3 combination) is 'DE', which would be a replication of a 2001 clasp if I recal correct...
  9. Thanks sir; I just put the LV together as a Summer beater; some additional details/background here if interested http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/159531-project-build-16610lv/ Mrs. Ubi is rocking my vintage PPCo today...
  10. Just one of those classics that look good no matter what the occassion
  11. Well done, sir! Love it!
  12. I think at the right price (and this applies to both rep and gen), the answer is yes
  13. Wow! Nicely done! Looks great!
  14. Nice overcast evening today... Good for grabbing a couple shots.
  15. Quite drool worthy!
  16. Nicely done and beautiful execution! Looking sharp!
  17. Had a look; I think I gave them out already Thought I had them still, but I went through all my crowns and not a single one. Sorry...
