  1. There I was... Driving up the hill on my way home from work and to my surprise, just as I was cresting the top... Another car was coming towards me in my own lane(!) I swerved out of the way, barely avoiding a head on collision. Just as I passed, I happened to look over at the driver. Much to my shock, I saw the idiot taking a picture of his WATCH in his side view mirror... Completely oblivious to nearly running me off the road. The humanity...
  2. BA is where I ordered last; shipped to Denver in 2 days.
  3. For Maratac, WestCoastTime is good.
  4. Typical HK dial; same as CWP offers. Serifs give it away.
  5. Tues- Something a little different...
  6. Kinda remnds me of the old AP sunray tourbillon... At least, the case does...
  7. Looks like a gorgeous 202/A dial, which would make this Gen 1; I believe Gen 2's were 201/A and 002/009 dials... NICE! And, rare in my opinion... Dunno how many FGD produced of these, but since they are G1 only, that makes them a rarity in my book
  8. Think I might have an acrylic pearl somewhere, K...
  9. Looks great, Lani! That ceramic bez is just....
  10. Great review b16a. I miss mine already...
  11. Thanks, guys... I think the pics could be improved a bit by a photo editing program, but I'm too lazy to bother. Resize is about as far as I go...
  12. If anyone would know... kruz would know! Think he's done more PAM projects than there are days in THREE months...
  13. Hmmmm... The only ones I've seen with true rounded ends are gen. Most of the aftermarkets have the flat ends that you've observed. Plus, the aftermarket ones tend to wear out pretty quickly- Couple of squeezes in and out of lugs and they're already tired. I have some gens that have seen numerous changes and they're still as sprung as my... well, lt's just say they're stiff.
  14. I think I'm very much the same as Lani- I have no idea what f-stop, aperture, etc I'm using. I just kinda go with whatever works and try for the best lighting conditions as possible. Quality of images for me really went up when I changed from the Canon Powershots to my EOS Rebel. Night and day difference and far less noise with the dark colors. Also, much more flexible in terms of what kinds of shots can be done; maybe one of my best purchases in a very long time!
  15. My advice- With some patience and persistence, you can probably find a nice modded one for sale in the Trading Zone... AR, Swiss ETA, relume, gen rubber strap etc. That would be the ticket.
  16. Oh! I think that was me! Not really...
  17. Oh, that is deliciously tastey W~! Lub, lub, LUBS it!
  18. Oh yeah, I forgot to add one of these to my reply:
  19. Hmmm. I have never been 'busted' for my 'fakes'... Some stock, unmodded, unfrankensteined pieces that I haven't done any work on... And yeah... I think they're much more interesting to build than buying gens... When the topic arises, usually from someone else with an interest in watches that notices what's on my wrist, many are surprised to know that I built what I'm wearing. Discussion usually turns into curiosity- Lots of 'hows', 'what's involved', etc. and if I can build them something. When I have my gen 165.024 on for instance, I say, yeah, it's an oldie, they say 'nice' and the discussion ends there. Besides, it's more fun to build. Anyone can buy a gen with the right means...
