  1. That's an outstanding watch, my friend! Me very jealous!
  2. Also, FWIW... 7031 = acrylic bezel 7032 = steel bezel
  3. 7031's are like the next 6263. Prices have risen sharply; I've seen some examples offered in the $25k - $36k range.
  4. I've had some very terse and otherwise impolite PMs in the past, to which I would take time to answer (but most of which were not even acknowledged with a simple thank you in return). These days, impolite PMs go straight to the trash can. Good manners never hurt anyone, and this courtesy to others is not much to ask (in my humble opinion)...
  5. 2nd that for Sinn. Great value for the money...
  6. TMG- I think I'm in LOVE An amazing watch... Absolultely stunning!
  7. Nothing new here. Same old... Friday: Saturday: Sunday:
  8. Ziggy is a true artisan with an amazing amount of talent. His lume jobs are fantastic, and what he does under the dial is even more impressive! He's serviced some of my most prized watches/movements (2892's, El Primero 400's, Valjoux 23, etc); I can't think of a more capable individual that I would trust these to
  9. Admittedly, I'm not a Breitling guy, but damn that looks GREAT! Very nice!
  10. In general, I try not to judge anyone for any reason. I don't think it's fair to judge someone based on appearances alone. I've been guilty of this in the past; I'm trying to change my ways...
  11. The only gen I bothered to hang onto. Everything else in the watchbox is a franken, with the exception of my Nautilus Jumbo and Royal Oak Jumbo reps. All original 165.024: Maybe this one counts as well? No name tourbillon....
  12. Just a little 1019 trivia here... The gen is 38mm diameter w/o crown; I believe the rep is 36mm w/o crown as it uses the DJ rep case. I could be wrong on this, but I've yet to see a correct size 1019 rep offered anywhere. Also an interesting note- Gen 1019's use the 5mm Twinlock vs. the 6mm; I have no idea why, but for whatever reason, they do. Go figure...
  13. Thanks, guys Unfortunately, the project hit some pretty significant snags; the case is the biggest issue, as finding the right example has proven to be difficult. First is the issue of the rehaut height; gens have a very low profile rehaut that I've not seen duplicated without modification. Second is finding a case that will accept a gen T116. I've not fount any that work well in that regard either. Last but not least, the 1675 is a rather thin profile watch. Much thinner than most of the existing cases that could be used as the basis for such a project. The other point I had trouble getting my head around was the fact that gens were selling for around $2k US at the time. I had considered the idea of just picking up a gen and being done with it. However, I believe I opted to build a second El Primero Daytona instead For reference, here is a gen 1675 slow set that I helped a friend acquire. The pics illustrate some of the issues I had frustration with
  14. Looks legit to me. Both bracelet and clasp. I think you're okay. BTW, thanks for the better pics. Those help quite a lot
  15. A classic for sure. Very nice!
  16. Some gorgeous watches in here! Too many to comment on!
  17. Hmmmm... A bit difficult to determine still. Any chance for a clear, no flash pic of the clasp blades/signing?
  18. I was at one point planning to build one, but I got sidetracked...
  19. P.S. I'd be curious to know... On your clasp, to the left of the ROLEX logo, is the 'REGISTERED' stamping off alignment with the 'SWISS MADE' stamping?
  20. Starting the week off with this one... Following up with this one on Tuesday... Been meaning to get these back to the safe deposit box, but I'm having a hard time with that idea at the moment.
  21. I'm not sure that your watchsmith knows what he's talking about. Based on those seller's pics ref'd from the other thread (though not great pics), your bracelet looks fine to me. Here are a couple of pics of my own genuine 78360 bracelet with 93150 clasp; it's seen a lot of use with some of the mid links having been worn down at the edges (causing them to slide back and forth on the pins): How's this for a worn down coronet? The base of the crown is almost gone... If you can get me some better images- Say, one of the bottom of the bracelet at the head (to see the stampings clearer), one of the clasp stampings, etc. I forget what a VE clasp dates to, but off the top of my head, I think it's 1980's-ish....
