  1. Happy Birthday, Bill! All the best...
  2. Yes, the rotor is a lovely touch... I have had more than a few opportunities to get both the bridge and the rotor (combined and a la carte), but it's hard for me to justify the cost on something I'd see only very rarely. Regardless... It's a nice finishing touch to a fantatsic piece!! Enjoy your new lovely tonton!! In my book, it's a keeper!
  3. 6542 GMT Pretty crazy, considering the rough condition of this watch (missing seconds hand, worn case, etc)...
  4. I am indeed Haven't worn it in a while, so I thought I'd give it some wrist time for today...
  5. Thanks, gio... Ruo- Looking forward to seeing yours finished! I love these vintage SM300's... One of my favorites for vintage divers...
  6. Funny... I find myself doing the same thing Gave my franken DJ to my father... He wears it everyday
  7. Giving the Daytona a break for today...
  8. On the cal. 4130 (current 116520 model Daytona), the seconds hand (both center and subsidiary @ 6:00) should run smoothly under operation. However, the 'sweep' (for lack of a better term, as it's contextually incorrect) may have a slight beat to it (@28,800bph/8 ticks per second, this would be visible). This is all dependant on how closely you are looking at the hands, observing, etc. Remember- These movements are mechanical... But, to answer the question, yes, the hand should be quite smooth in it's movement; i.e. no stutters or choppy movement. Looking at my El Primero based 16520 Daytona frankenstein, I can even see a very slight beat, and that one beats at 36,000bph/10 ticks per second (though it's quite smooth).
  9. If you want a 6263 with a V72, you'll have to either build it yourself, or buy it from someone who has already built one (that is, if they are willing to part with one)...
  10. Lots of egos over 'there'... But, there are some nice people present on the gen forums, too...
  11. Very nice write up! Always fun to see and watch this sort of work in progress
  12. Definitely think this one belongs in a PVD case! Very interesting look!
  13. Nice review! Interestingly, there are some characteristics of the rep watch that I think I prefer over the gen (i.e. the bezel insert font, etc). Overall, a very close comparo. As for your questions... Genuine bezel insert might fit, but to my knowledge Omega will not sell the insert alone. Rather, the insert is sold with the bezel as one complete unit (at least that's how the ones for the SMP a la 2531.80 were sold). No idea on the bracelet. Thanks for posting...
  14. Mmmmm... Vintage ...with just a bit of wabi.
  15. both should be the same; 90/150/25...
  16. Add a nice, high quality EP400 clone to this list and I'd be
  17. You know me... I love Daytonas The Daytona and the Classic Royal Oak Chronograph (e.g. ref 25860ST) are two of my all time favorite chronographs (I have a few more on my list, but these two remain high on the list). BTW, EPZen, I really like the 116518 you got from Joshua... So much so, that I may have to pick one up despite my disdain for the modified 7750 seconds @ 6:00 movement...
  18. elprimerozen- Both pieces (yours and the original poster's) look nice- But there are definitely some (slight) differences between the two, and even more so when comparing to genuine. Regardless, both are nice watches, especially considering that these are 'out of the box' (no mods).
