  1. I'll watch from the safety of the sidelines.
  2. At least we know where the good deals can be had Straight from the source... No middlemen involved.
  3. Yeah... He's always had a V72 kit. Basically consisted of a case, dial, hands, crystal, bezel, pushers and crown/tube. Just add the movement and bracelet, and voila- Instant 6263/5!
  4. It's probably not new, but rather the old V72 case that DW has always offered.
  5. I see that Exxon posted their profit for Q1 today. $8B seems like a pretty stout quarter; and that's just profit! Revenue was $88B, I believe?
  6. I believe it's 42.5mm w/o the crown. The only thing really holding me up from picking up this great watch is that damn minute hand. everytime I get close to pulling the trigger, my eye is instinctly drawn to it, and I start getting second thoughts...
  7. $66... Not too shabby That would have been a good win!
  8. Just an FYI- If you're looking to create a V72 based franken, you'll need the V72 case to do it right. The DW case for the V23 copy will require some modification to accomodate the V72 correctly.
  9. I think richard uk had an animated gif of his... Pretty funny stuff!
  10. I don't fully agree with this statement. At least, not in terms of wearing a heavily modded vintage MBW 1665 into an AD's
  11. Nice work Jet!! Nothing like doing it yourself, eh?
  12. Jimmytim, Rima, Thanks for the pics! It gave me a better idea of what to expect in terms of case size, etc. Having seen your guys' images, I made a trip to my local AD earlier this afternoon and tried both the black and orange PO on to see what it would look like in the flesh. Not a bad fit A bit bigger than my MBW 1665, but not by much. I may end up getting this one... Still have to think about it. My wife, oddly enough, liked the orange better than the black. She also liked the MOP dialed ladies DJ in the Rolex display. Could be an expensive month
  13. Clean, unsigned dial gets my vote.... Kinda like a semi-hommage to the 3646...
  14. Indeed... Even though it's the same size as the 1950, I think it looks bigger. Definitely not a candidate for my wrist!
  15. Nice one, Gran! I especially like the dog watching the action. T'is a nice detail! Seriously... Erotic watches are a fascinating subject. I've seen some Svend Anderson erotic pieces sell for some pretty eyewatering prices! Definitely an interesting conversation piece!
  16. My vote- Get some of the watches from your wishlist! -Who knows how long it will take for the 187 to hit the general public? -Who knows what flaws the 187 will first have when it's released? Maybe it will be better to wait for revision 3 or 4 before making a purchase anyways? Besides... One of those will probably have a Swiss 7753 cased inside! And, as with anything, price will go down over time. Just my thoughts on the matter! Enjoy a new watch in the meantime!
  17. Hmmmm... I wonder what Sig Bonati and the fine folks at Officine Panerai think of ethics in life and business? Seeing as how they have no problem overcharging people 25x+ over what Panerai's really should cost, I'd have to think that maybe they didn't take that class? I know! Maybe the extra $4k - $9k of what they charge for a watch is actually for the superior, precision turned crown, or the swan's neck regulator that some of our reps don't have? Or, maybe the extra money spent is for the pear wood box, and the high quality parchment that the certificates and paperwork are printed on? Cause it's certainly not for the ETA movements they put in... Nor for the after service and warranty that accompanies the time piece. And don't tell me it's for the R&D and IP that goes into the watch's design and production- There haven't been THAT many changes to the overall line up that would quantify the prices they're charging! Hell, for ethcs of my pocket book, I'd much rather spend a couple hundred dollars for a nice SWISS ETA Panerai rep, and spend a few hundred more to send it off to Ziggy for a relume, cannon pinion fix and overhaul and have it all back in a few weeks vs. the 4 month turn around time from Panerai Service. At a fraction of the overall cost of a gen, and with a newly serviced watch that will glow like a torch and looks the same as it's genuine counterpart, it's not hard to see the economics in that! Personally, I'd rather have the $4k extra in my bank account- Not Sig. Bonati's!
  18. Should be soon, fitchy! Hopefully Monday of next week. In the meantime, Dave oughta have his by now....
  19. Mmmmmmmmm.... DW.... I wuvs my Cosmographs
  20. Over time, your straps will shrink a bit at the lug ends anyways. A result of wear, moisture, sweat, etc. With a 26mm strap, the lug ends should shrink down to fit the 24mm lugs perfectly
  21. Indicies and hands light up like a torch! Very nice!
