  1. I had a hand-wind movement that needed use (movement from Timezome class) so I snagged an old Small Rose Tudor Oyster dial from flea-bay and dug out one of my 34mm cases. I had ordered a set of Alpha hands a while back and wanted to try them on something but I'm not sure now as they seem awfully "dainty" installed on this. Here's a couple pics as it is not finished, movement not secured, band not chosen, etc... As much as I hate "straps" this one might only look good on a vintage looking brown leather strap of some sort...
  2. Welcome to the Prince Oysterdate "Franken Lite" Club! You are turning me "blue" with envy! Your build turned out very nice. I'm gonna snag one of those blue dials one of these days. I already have the silver, and fixin' to build a two-tone with gold dial, so I just need the blue. The gen dial is an "older" dial than the rep you had bought. The current watches are called Prince Dates while the "vintage" were Prince Oysterdates. I'm going the other way as well, I have one of the rep dials like yours and it will be getting glued to a 2836 and re-cased! I really love that silvery-white dial. If you want to complete the "vintage look" then a Clark 25-123 has the magnifier in the correct location.
  3. hackR: Man, I love that dial. Now you just need to put a Clark on it!!! I just got outbid and lost two over the weekend. It seems these always come up for auction and end when I'm at work. I did get two gold and one more silver, though! Was this one of the 26.6mm dials? I have also gotten some 30mm dials and 25.5mm dials from them. I have a ready source of cases for everything except the 30mm dials... I'm wearin' your "cousin" today (with new plexi)...
  4. I thought "Mr. Slimeball" was watchbandman50? I will admit I've gotten a few things from WO990 without incident.
  5. The T12 fits my rep Tudor 34mm cases...
  6. Decided to jump on the Datejust wagon with Ronin...
  7. Even though I'm a die-hard BMW rider there's always been a soft spot in my heart for the old 650 Yamaha. I guess because the engine reminds me so much of the Triumph 650 Bonneville engine... Good looking bike.
  8. Interesting, it reminds me of Parkerizing on military rifles...
  9. Very nice looking machinery. I have restored a few MGBGTs but have decided motorcycles are a lot easier and they don't take up as much room!
  10. Freddy, that statement does more to help me understand you than anything I've ever previously read on this forum! Anyone who has had to do battle with "The Prince of Darkness" always emerges from the battles a bit twisted! I've cursed ol' George many a time, in the dark, at the side of the road...
  11. Although I don't wear it as much as I used to it's still probably my favorite...
  12. Dug this out from the bottom of the stack today...
  13. Umm, take the "/" out of the first edit topic by using "Full Editor"
  14. Finally got the correct plexi crystal for this so figured I'd "break it in" - hopefully... NOT!
  15. Back to Tudor for the rest of the weekend...
  16. It's relatively easy with a set of hand pressers and they are not very expensive...
  17. Funky is consigned to the closet and back to simple...
  18. Damn, it's a watch. I figgered it'd be a foxy green-eyed babe!
  19. Well, in this litigation-driven society it least it gives you someone to sue!
  20. I personally never watch CNBC as pretty much everything that drizzles out of there can also be found in my crapper before I pull the handle...
  21. Now, THAT is thinking so far outside the box that the box no longer matters!!!!
  22. Damn! I'm glad you got out relatively unscathed but I would damn sure be sueing somebody over that "fireproof safe" letting my shootin' irons go up in smoke!!
