  1. Thanks buddy. Concerning the BP FF I have in mind to make a gummy alligator strap. For now I won't sell nor take orders. It's a thought of making a business out of it and offcourse I'd need a market. Everything has to be legit when I start it up.
  2. I'd do this: Noob bezel & dial, JF case, BP bracelet The bezel of the noob is better than JF but not perfect.
  3. Hey guys, I've been working for quite some time on this and finally had the chance to post some photos of my straps. I'm able to deliver straps for your timepieces. My main inspiration were the straps from Hermes. As you will probably notice. Here are some finished ones. This is a thread just to get a feeling if there would be any interest. My aim is to offer high quality straps only. Almost every type of skin is available, with Elephant being the most expensive one. I have not produced any buckles yet as I'm still undecided to start selling straps or not. Let me know your thoughts and if you'd be interested or not. The straps are all 100% hand made. Thanks. 1. Calf leather, cognac, will age beautifully 2. Etoupe, calf skin 3. Buffalo skin, honey color 4. Ostrich skin, dark brown 5. Alligator leather, grey Some straps upon request and other finished ones:
  4. Hey guys, From what I hear my dealer says the BR03-88 is out of stock. If you know a dealer that might have these in stock, let me know! I'm fond of the tool look of that watch so if anyone wants to sell his, let me know. Thanks!
  5. Thanks guys. I'm using a 1530 cal. Will search for a correct hand.
  6. Hey guys, I'm at my final stage of building my franken. I've bought some gen hands which were lumed to match the dial. While I'm trying to install the hands a problem occured. I don't seem to be able to install the minute hand. Here a few photos, what's wrong, what am I doing wrong? Many thanks for your input. without hour hand:
  7. The 44mm franken can use the black dw yes. It's not for the 7750 movement.
  8. Hey gents, Short little update. Orders have been placed at the manufacturer in Switzerland. ETA is approximately the beginning of January. If all goes well it might even be around Christmas. We'll keep you posted accordingly! First batch will be: - white (ivory) background with black font - black background with white font (for the diver etc.) We're getting there!
  9. I can vouch for him too. Great guy. I'd go for a 1530cal.
  10. Amazing work. That lume job is incredible. Congrats on this one.
  11. Wonderful piece, your own personal created MC. Amazing work.
  12. Thnx buddy. Any suggestions who to get in touch with in the EU? I have used RolexAddict before, not sure if he's still around, he's pretty good at aging a case. As for casework itself I'm thinking about Zocker maybe? Actually, I don't think it's a problem to send a case anywhere in the world. If it's the case only.
  13. Thnx for the reply. I think the cost will be quite higher than $3-4k. I'm located in the EU, although I think for case shaping it shouldn't be a problem where I'm located at. I definately want to go with the best case available. So far I think it's the one from Phong/Jensen.
  14. Hey guys, Since I'm back I have been reading a lot. A lot about the build of you guys and a lot about what's available on the market. In the last 2 years vintage watches have become a true passion to me. Mainly Heuer and Rolex but also Seiko, Omega, Longines and quite a few smaller brands. In the past I built about 3 franken AP ROO's, a whole different game but those were quite extensive mods/builds which led me to producing my own datewheels as well. If I'm taking on a project I like to do it properly. Anyhow. At the moment I'm looking for a franken 5512 project. Most likely a 1962 5512 PCG with chapter ring 2-liner dial. The gilt 5512 & 5513 series are to me what a Porsche 930 Turbo is. Not the original submariner/911 but a magnificent upgrade which makes my heart go faster. Currently I'm thinking about this build: Voldemort dial Gen hands - relumed to match the dial, hands should have some corrosion T19 plexi, either from MY or a gen, the ones from MY seem to be pricey too compared to a gen one, I love the superdome, also had this on my gen 5513gilt 1530 caliber movt. Athaya crown or gen crown, not decided yet 7206 riveted bracelet from Yuki with gen endlinks Case, here comes my question: While a lot of 5512's have been built here I haven't really found a clear answer to my quest for the best case to buy for this project. I have currently been in touch with Jensen/Vintagewatchmaker (son of Phong) to ask some dimensions etc. I think their cases look amazing including the serial engraving, their caseback work etc. As most of you know the PCG cases are thinner than the regular cases, so I'm wondering if Jensen's case is a good one for this project. As for the casework, anyone willing to help/assist? Or who should I get in touch with? I've been pretty amazed with some of the work you guys delivered. Anyway, feel free to share your thoughts. All help is appreciated. What do you think about the Phong/Vintagewatchmaker 5512 PCG cases? Example piece:
  15. I'm waiting for my gen arrival and in the meanwhile bought the rep with fixed second hand (23j movt). Tbh very pleased with it. Endlinks aren't good so I advise to buy the BP bracelet.
  16. Interesting thread. Dbane is correct afaik. 5510 is 27mm. 5512 & 5513 is 26.05mm As dbane said, early 5512 were designed for larger diameter dials (27mm). I'm currently gathering info as well on the cases as I'm looking for a nice franken build. Here some photos I found on VRF. I assume the "fake" case is Phong's, correct me if I'm wrong. Case comparison is with a '61 PCG case. .
  17. Thanks a lot guys! I've been reading like crazy the last few days.
