  1. Interesting piece ! For home wear definately,.. When is the rep coming out ?
  2. It's pretty heavy,.. Here is the kicker for slim jims, north to south, lug to lug, it's only 50mm, and east to west 43. So anyone that can handle a 44 x 52mm Pam, will prefer the big boy, size wise. I know everyone is going for the 42mm for the eta, and when one come out in 45mm I will pick one up, in 3rd or 4th generation, however in the mean time I'm lovin this biggie. Besides, I have never had dramatic problems even with Asian 7750s, and Zero with the basic Asian with simply a date complication, add in the low cost factor and I find a perfect way to wait for the 45mm eta model I feel is accurate enough to invest in.
  3. I had previously a 42mm PO and found it too small...especially the dial... I just received a 45mm PO from a member and I find that since I am used to panerai, this watch is actually perfect size in mine eyes....a very good fit even though I am slim of wrist.
  4. Thanks alot ! You just answered questions I sent in my pm....
  5. Finally going to get into a bit of basic watch repair, and think it now time to go beyond the rubber gloves, to a tool, if it's exist, that will open an Omega, Panerai and Rolex,... maybe an Iwc. Any tips would would be greatly appreciated !
  6. TomBombadil, thanks,.. that is a great looking combo.. I have also been tinkering with pam straps on other brands... I believe it works out very well, not only in comfort, but in looks. I can't understand how so many watch companies, which are now making the larger watches.. like the 45mm PO for instance that will not make their lugs wider to compensate for the extra weight and girth. I'm now designing a band that Aaron said he would put together for me... I really appreciate that about him.
  7. This is definately a project watch,.. but an easy one.. the bezel paint can be evened in so many ways... I will also look for another face..don't think a gen will fit it though,.. unless they made it in two sizes... Because the bezel is not a push in.. fazes me in the least..this is a rep after all.. The good newz is it has a solid case, great movement, and excellent band.. the hands are pretty good as well.
  8. Well Jay, you finally made it,... Welcome and I want to say that it has been a pleasure to deal with you ! Your commitment to providing us the highest standard of service and lowest prices has been a true treasure. You have a family here, make yourself at home !
  9. I don't plan on wearing mine in public,.. I would just like one or two for those times when I am polishing, and admiring my collection.
  10. I have done it, and it looks so much better....expecially if your wrists are on the slim side,.. however it depends upon the material density and thickness of the strap ends. Just change the sleeves to 24mm and give it a squeeze to see if it will go,.. if not,.. I have tried the shave and ruined a strap.. but maybe I was not as precise as I should have been.
  11. Welcome to the club... it never stops until you are either broke or start getting very, very, selective...
  12. Hi, I have been contemplating pulling the trigger on the Pam 212 w/swiss 7750, but the price is stellar ...$700 I had no problem paying the money for a 196 7753, due to it's full 3 sub chrono plus date... but this model, though beautiful is giving me second thoughts.. Also I had one dealer tell me that these were not worth the money, though he did not elaborate on why... What's your opinion on such a purchase ? Worth it ? or Not ?
  13. Great ! Thanks Gran......Perrrfect
  14. Last check was on Monday,.. the 029s shipped on Tuesday,.. 063s being built. Write EL ...,I'm sure he will fill you in...
  15. I have Narikaa scouring Asia for a few of these titilating pieces for me now... Hey Gran,.. how about a close up..?
  16. I have been receiving mail from some that have missed the boat on the Pam GMT 2893 group buy from EL. I just contacted him and he's willing to extend the offer for the remaining few... There are only Three 029's and Two - 063's available $435 for forum members... Please confirm in this post if you wish to take advantage of these last ones...
  17. Generally, It doesn't really matter to me,.. though on watches like the old model Comex for instance all stamped with that same large sized number on the back,.. it made me pause.
  18. Great Work Andrew ! We are truely lucky to have you .... Any word on a 45mm swiss ?
  19. ..... and now the paddy wagon comes and rounds us all up...
  20. Wow do I know it.. bezel inserts it seems are never aligned.. I can turn it upside down and it aligns... to the 3 or 9 sometimes 10.. but never 12 I just received a gmt mstr 2 and luckily the bezel was unglued... so it allows me to place it where ever I want..
  21. Did you plan on utilizing the clicks....?
  22. Yes,... !
  23. Yep, his shipper is Malaysia,.. not to worry.
  24. The deciding factor would come naturally,...how much people are willing to invest in a particular piece ?
