Interesting story! I can understand a dial swap for a used Rolex or any brand, but to be given a new watch like that smacks of the AD being a bit of a naughty boy!! I am surprised at the way they all discuss this as quite common with Rolex on the whole. The OP is very timid about the service he has been given.... feeling sorry for the AD after he gets not only a modified 'new' watch but to add insult to insult its an incorrect modification!!! Thanks for sharing mate My ETz have moved into the AD business @Nico - but yours doesnt have any lume does it?? Whereas this guy had a lumed dial but no lumed hands.

And though its not what I meant ,on the serious side of your comment, OP have a number of 217 and 127 casebacks as replacements. I was offered a used gen once but was outbid. It wasnt in great condition but I didnt mind as the weight is whats makes the real difference to me for a franken.... FYI - The question obviously arises about SN etc but OP have set procedure on this, I understand the replacements have everything engraved but the SN is blank, as they do with shadow cases or pre-production runs. This is then inserted when replaced.

I had been led to believe that the cartel DSSD ultimate/V5 etc bezel insert in terms of the 10 and thickness of the indices had now been improved since its release and reviews on here. Is that correct does anyone know? If you look on the B&R forums you can see this confusion with the gen owners, Some have blue markers and hands, some have blue markers with green hands. From what I read I think its the older ones that do. Lovely example by the way, Goin is doing some great work...
