  1. I hate those pics..... I hate that watch and more than that I really hate you..... !!!! Lovely mate.... wear it well
  2. Although strap looks gen the bag is incorrect.... that strap is a Rugby Gold.... the bag is an Alligator Semimatt Mustard Also it looks 27/22 rather than the bag size of 27/20

    PAM 111M

I have a gasket you can have mate
  4. Very nice OTB rep, we are getting spoilt but cyclops poshition and three marker still need work as does the depth of dial and I still ain't convinced on the lume colour to gen but really need better pics I am sure a V2 will soon follow
  5. As Rob mentioned in your thread there is some interesting reading on Dirk 2nd Gen in Risti etc.... I spent many an hour researching the forums on these but ended up going direct to the horses mouth so to speak to discuss the discrepancies in the info provided. But very basically the cheaper buckles produced in 2001/2 by Dirk and later in 2005 by his partners used a higher mix of nickel in the metal 316 unlike the original PreV buckles which were purer... Issues came up about stamping and getting a deep finish to the stamping without damaging the buckle... hence the use of increased nickel... Though a lot of his PVD buckles are the better 316 because you can hide the arisings defects better from the stamping...Dirk did not issue his 'Bag of Goodies' till 2009 these were the original PreV buckles though he did sell them to certain guys before this... Also on your buckle notice the different shape of the tongue tip compared to the Dirk... and if you see Warrens buckle you can see this is the higher nickel content buckle produced in 2001/2 by Dirk though that strap came a few years after... I notice yours is the VC (Vero Cuoio) leather.... I aint seen many 2nd gen like this or that type of leather usually they are Kodiak as per the original versions.. As an example here is a pic of an original PreV buckle next to a Dirk buckle in the back ground is a second gen.. if you want other pics let me know..
  6. LOL
  7. Dirks buckles and straps can get very confusing IMHO however the thing to remember is some of his buckles are actually PreV buckles that he picked up in the early days these are much more deeply engraved and have a different metal.... the later ones he sold were refurbed versions using same minting but were slightly different because they were originally rejects after that the buckles were newly made using same coinage and similar minting... they are all easily recognisable as their parentage by the metal finish and the minting.. However you can tell all Dirks by the length of the tongue.... the Prev tongues are longer ie they reach almost the middle of the P but all Dirks only get as far as the bottom of the P maximum... this is because Dirk replaced them ALL to stop them being resold for 4-5 times the money and also because the original tongues could not be bent back in to the buckle... There a numerous editions of the dirks.... as I mention above... but you also get the Dirk 2nd Generation Dirks these arent Dirks but are made by the same guys who tried to pull a fast one on Dirk... so to speak... these can be recognised by the stitching on the straps by the buckle, instead of 5 stitches the stitches go right round the strap and also because the buckles themselves are rejects from OP... There are other tells like the finishing of the buckle edges and the shape or curviature of them that also hep in assessing the age or type of buckle...
  8. I would suggest buying something from JacksonTse mate ... he does the 44mm fiddy casebacks closed but they are blank (Homage)... but if you wanted to go a little further then ask Jakob to engrave it for you... pricey but solves the issue of the blank if that bothers you too... you could just ask for an auto engraving with a ghost or shadow millesimation...
  9. Lovely mate Wear it well.... love the CB ... and a great provinence.. Though I would say that it is a Dirk V2... the V2 is the Dirk that never was... ie it was made by Dirks partners who tried to pull a fast one on him... There are a lot of Dirk straps and buckles plus V2 straps and buckles that are about... the trick is knowing which are the original PreV buckles, which are the refurbed ones and which are the reminted ones... the reminted ones are using a weaker metal because the stamping used to bend the better ones to get the depth of engraving... its complicated and I could go on and on and on about the variations ( iwouldnt want to bore you!) but you still have a strap and buckle worth a good bit of money even though it has an additional hole...
  10. It really gets your hopes up seeing these prototype/demo pics but given the way the 29 panned out I aint hopeful.... not saying its bad just considering they have the gen its not that close IMHO ... Even his updated video aint showing any change to the dial colour from first pics :(
  11. A fantastic opportunity for guys that want thier PAMs to have the best and closest look OEM PVD ... Zig did my PreV 202a recently and guys I cannot state enough just how close this was to gen.... I have had all of the known PVD suppliers watches in my hand and this coating was without doubt the best coating I have ever had on any of my PAMs.... Add to that the quality of service from Zig and the attention to detail .... this is the best PVD option to any one wanting to mod or refinish thier PAM case IMHO... and great value I was fortunate enough to hold a gen 202a in my hand so I can say that from an objective point of view not just subjective... An awesome opportunity.... wish I had something to PVD I would say however that everyone interested should understand the specific PVD finish on the gen that they want to replicate as PVD tones and colours did vary slightly due to OP using a couple of different suppliers for different series models... generally however the finish was pencil gray and here is the opportunity to own a little bit more of a genlike PAM....
  12. Its only difference to the V1 is the updated AR...
  13. I saw these pics of a gen ceramic... I was surprised to see the extent of the damage to this.... but I had heard the ceramic was a brittle material.... in that case I wonder if OP offer an extended warranty on the ceramic elements and if not then shouldnt they...?
  14. Thinking about it mate.... I ave a spare from a 111J.. you can have it PM me your address. Best glue is Loctite Blue or any thread glue.... it holds but will release when you unscrew... just remember to use correct driver size (not just width but the thickness as it slopes to a point) or you could bugger the head as the steel aint great on reps..
  15. They are pricey to EU.... I think minimum is $15... so unless you are buying straps or other bits... go to eBay much cheaper and they do the job.. Or try a quick want to buy
  16. Most of the time these guys dont call you.... My understanding is its a computer that rings numbers randomly or to order and if the reciever is picked up its transferred to a telemarketer.... I love the irony with the guy that rang Subbie and then said you wasted his time... priceless... I remember on a tangent my mother in law accepting a telephone invitation to a timeshare presentation.... she was an older lady very polite and didnt like to say no... anyway when the rest of the family found out she was told to cancel it or one of them would cancel on her behalf... she wouldnt do this as she had been promised a diamond necklace for just attending... of course we explained what she would actually get but she was insistant and wouldnt believe this nice man had lied to her or misled her.. So my sister in law, (who my mother in law thought was a most intelligent woman only because she had been married to a teacher who she had met while at school!!,) offered to take her to make sure she didnt do anything foolish or spend any money on a timeshare etc etc That night they all returned.... my mother in law was happy as she had a necklace.... (albeit a cheap CZ piece of crap) though my Sister in law had taken out a second mortgage loan and bought a time share... She had it 8 years was never allowed or able to use when she had holidays or time off... (she had bought the off season package)...plus the cheap flights etc that they offered in the package were from Timbucktoo at silly oclock and subject to additional taxes and admin fees. She eventually sold it back to the company after paying yearly costs and it cost her as the timeshare had no value and they charged her admin fees for the sale!! So it only takes one mug and these companies make some serious dosh...
  17. Not what I had hoped for.... but agree the Cyclops and DW are much improved.. For me still too much wrong... with Dial, CG etc Not sure who actually dissects the gens but I think he could be Stevie Wonder's optician...
  18. I think that great age of metal all depends on your age.... So I aint admitting my golden year...
  19. LOL - Not all mate .... I never take it serious
  20. Now that is sweet... not sure I would feel comfortable wearing it with the connotations this emblem has to a lot of people... But nice for a PAM head
  21. For me it would be anything worn by Stevie Wonder....
  22. Not disagreeing mate I was just going by some conversations I have had with dealers... as an example of a brand new model... the 312.329s etc all required 250 minimum per model but with a minimum of 1000 against the cases, CGs etc etc
  23. At least your insults are more subtle GG I refuse to use any of those sites myself.... hate them I accept what you say mate and had not considered that to be honest.. So yes could be another possibility.... but the old synical techno phob in me says its more sus than that
  24. Looks great mate... nice work makes me look more forward to getting mine in my hand and on my watch
  25. I posted a pic of the gen 237 on the other 237 thread.... which showed the blue hue on the cyclops...
