  1. First of all thanks to everyone for taking the time to post and share The bracelet does have the correct 468B end links and also it is dated 'N' '5' on the inside - not dated it yet? I have seen N date clasps on other L series case sets so that is a good sign. The dial was my concern. I have never seen a 'rail dial' - the outer minutes ring like a railway track - not sure if that is what you call it???? All of the normal dials do have the lume dots touching the sticks - this does not. I guess my concerns are like commented above - is the bracelet aftermarket or a hybrid cos it has little wear and stretch the clasp and end links seem gen for sure)? Is the dial aftermarket, or a later service dial? Thanks again to all
  2. Here we have a ladies DJ model 69173 TT - its an L4xxxxxx series from 1989, I have not seen this 'rail' dial on this model before - does it all look original? Bracelet clasp and end links have the correct markings. All inputs appreciated............its a gift for Mrs Mapman........many thanks,
  3. Great combination - good value from Bob as well Like the shots and tha tobacco hue to the dial........
  4. Blackberry shots with a magazine by the pool today.......... You cant beat a bit of the vintage real deal
  5. Drool and dribble.... Where did you source all of those wonderful dials?
  6. All self bleached and lightly sanded with an ultra fine grit scotchpad - gives a sheen and that blue grey hue... The black insert in the first pic is a gen unbleached piece as a benchmark. a few more variants....

    MBK = MBW

    A watch bought at MBK Mall, as you say, is not neccessarily a 'MBW' version? In fact it is likely that it is not now, but it may be a more modern day equivalent if you look, dig and negotiate hard enough on a personal visit. The best way would be to use a trusted dealer like Reg (Narikaa) to source one for you, when he next visits the region? Or sources from his own personal sources. There are some respected MBW/MBK experts here that could clarify all for you - where are you Highoey????
  8. WOW Ronin that is hot - there is the benchmark! Akira - you can use the Asian DG movement from the 1655 $128 model. Dont forget to add a Clark 116? and 2mm spring bars in drilled lug holes? You could use the 7836 folded bracelet from the Josh 1655 and save the cost of a Yuki 7206?
  9. Great piece and super pair at Ubi's
  10. What a difference a day makes ! Best live each day as it's your last ........
  11. Thanks for the positive feedback guys - this BB Curve shoots some decent stuff with the flash turned off! If the lighting is good - the results are great, for such a simple piece of kit. Its 5mp camera produces approx 1mb jpg file. I got home in the evening and that pretty leaf had all shrivelled up.....'what a difference a day makes!'
  12. Ahhh, now I get it. You need a new watch, to better manage your time with all of your present hobbies (which look great!) You might want to give up on guns first, before your lady learns how to really 'point and shoot' that thing with the big sight on top Great thread...............
  13. So as I stepped into my car this morning I noticed this on the floor, with the early morning dew glistening in the low morning sun.... I had my Blackberry to hand and popped a couple of 'point and shoot shots' - not bad eh? Then I thought, 'oh what the heck?'.........'I have a minute to spare! Yes, these are shot on my Blackberry Curve with no touch ups Even managed to get the date wheel in focus :cool:
  14. Wow, great picture set as well. Helps us more noob like members, to really see the difference between the evolution of the respective gen crown models. Good luck with that 5517 build, looking forward to the 'regular updates here'
  15. Thanks for the comparison. What a great pair! I must hold back, but his case set is a favourite of mine. Sead has just announced what looks like a great relume service on this piece - if you buy the watch through him. Good colour uncharged and gen bright when charged.
  16. Its got out again..........can't keep a good Sub down
  17. Thanks for that laugh it's brightened up my day! Just sitting and staring at the small sub seconds dial on my 005k dial, reading this thread and wondering who in their right mind can tell what beat rate this thing is.............well at least when it is on my wrist and NOT not on a service bench! Either way, both are great lookers and great value as we all know well.
  18. Thats really great....similar tones in a way to my Donerix strap.... I also have a Europelli basketball strap, great choice.
  19. @ Nanuq @Ronin Even though I have seen them many times before, those GMT's are simply stunning
