  1. I have never had a problem ordering from Tony, got some great watches at fantastic prices, I don't think that is silly, especially in this economic climate. He also gets all sorts of parts without any issue, when I asked you back in the day you couldn't be bothered to help me, great service...... No comment on the Asian clone movements that fall apart and stop working, but still cost more than real Swiss ETA versions? I didn't think so.......
  2. Ethics in a counterfeit goods market? As for what I or any other members "preach", as you put it, that is our business, Tony has never ripped anyone off from all the forum posts I have read. I imagine you would happily send out a replacement watch without question before you receive the faulty watch back, with no tracking for the watch coming back to you, yes? How about answering a question or two about the terrible quality Asian clone "Rolex style" movements that are costing more for us to buy than real Swiss ETA movements, Now that is a scam......
  3. Hehe, I don't think he ever claimed to be you Do you match his prices, that would be a popular move You should do some "special" deals too, some of Tony's offers are really fantasic value
  4. Blimey your right, well spotted! I am looking at his other photos, and can't see any leftover marks! Surely it would be easier to take your own pictures!? Whoever removes them does a great job, I can't see any others on the watches I have checked..... Still, I will take his prices over the Twins every time!
  5. Explain it any other way then? Bearing in mind the water marks on the photos Tony has access to all the same watches as the Twins, at better prices, and knows the factories well enough to get all sorts of dials/hands, cases, crystals and any other parts you can imagine....
  6. There is no way to remove the watermarks from the pictures though is there? So Tony simply has access to the same stock photos that the twins do, they are not stolen It is not like Mark from timesshop, where he covered up the original watermarks with his own
  7. The two versions of the 7750 movement (low beat= 21,600 and high beat 28,800) work out to be roughly 6 beats, or 8 beats per second respectively. So in theory the high beat version should be a smoother sweep, but I have owned a few high beat 7750's that have had a chronograph second hand that skips just as bad as a low beat version..... Certainly I hope the second hand skipping was really, really crazy bad in this particular case (quartz level), certainly otherwise I would not consider it to be a fault at all, if the watch keeps good time and is cosmetically sound
  8. Well the pictures are stock factory pictures, that Tony obviously has access too. I mean, otherwise, how does he remove the watermark on each and every picture that the other dealers place on them? As for the less than desirable movements, that is the first I have heard of it. Unless you mean the Asian clone Rolex "style" movements that ALL the dealers are selling, the ones that are sold for about the same or more than their true Swiss ETA counterparts, for a much bigger profit no doubt, and then tend to fall to pieces and break in no short amount of time..... Cheers!
  9. Should have gone for the same watch, but with a reliable Swiss ETA movement, as for some crazy reason the modified Asian clone "3186" costs the same price as the real deal Swiss ETA? The modified Asian clones are even less reliable than the stock Asian clones, plus the stock clones in the same watch would be a lot less $$$. The dealers must make FAT profit on these modified Asian clone watches.... I really hope your watch arrives and runs problem free
  10. Whenever you ship back a parcel to a dealer, use a registered tracked service, pretty simple, and an absolute must! Never use a non tracked service, or a courier style service...... It is the dealers responsibility to get a watch to you in one piece, safe and sound, for which they take responsibility. On the flip side, it's your responsibility to get the watch back to the dealer in one piece, safe and sound, for which you take responsibility. Ultimately you let yourself down by shipping the watch with the cheapest method available to you, it could take months to get there and may never show up. How would you know either way? There is no parcel reference in the system..... Talk to Tony, maybe he will do something, maybe not. Until he has the watch in his hands, I doubt he, or any other dealer, would do anything....
  11. The crystal on the GMTIIc is actually very easy to remove, by hand even, after you have carefully de-cased the movement, making sure not to depress the crown release too much and bugger up the keyless works But the tricky part is re-installing it straight, without any dust or smudges. I managed the exact thing, using a new lint free microfibre lens cloth, a clean brush and a very bright small light on my N95, the crystal was spotless and straight after a great deal of effort. Make sure to work in a clean environment, and pop the dial/movement underneath a glass to prevent dust falling on the dial. You may need some rodico putty to clean anything that does still land on the dial..... Or you could get a local watchsmith to do it!
  12. Rodico putty and watch openers (sticky balls) will be your best friends!
  13. Could be the poor rep quality lume, flaking a little bit over time onto the dial and crystal maybe?
  14. The bie releases of Win7 do not need a key http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5130799/Microsoft.Windows.7.ULTIMATE.x86.OEM.DVD-BIE_-_by_Mick Installed that release on about 5 work mates PC/laptops, and tested first on my desktop and it works perfectly, no need for keys or cracks, as the loader is already pre-installed. Just leave the part where the install asks for a key blank, and untick the activate online box, easy as pie.....
  15. Re-install Win7, search for the latest bie release, everything is built in and works really well After the re-install, before you plug your 1TB drive back in, update to a proper virus program (Kaspersky 2010 works great for me) and do a full scan of the external drive, just in case. You don't want to start from scratch only to re-introduce a virus back onto your clean install..... Cheers!
  16. Yes, nearing $700 with shipping is way too much money, but they try to justify it with the genuine watch they purchased, to create the rep. As for the rubber bezel spacer, they may have just put this particular watch together the wrong way, would not surprise me if it was fixed before the first batch gets delivered, if someone lets Angus know about it that is Too big for my wrist anyway......
  17. Hopefully this is how 2010 will be for our new reps!!
  18. A factory is buying the clone movements and/or parts, then modifying them. They must have to partly strip them down and rebuild them with the "upgraded" 3135 style parts, and in doing so they are obviously doing a [censored] poor job...... I have had stock clone movements in a few of my watches (not the 3135 one) and they have been fine, no problems I can imagine the dealers rubbing their hands with glee when somebody opts for the 3135 over an ETA movement when buying a watch, more $$$ for them!
  19. The failure rate of the modified (3135) Asian clone is much higher than the stock Asian clone movement, and seeing as the dealers charge the same price for these 3135 "style" clones as the Swiss ETA versions, you must be a bit silly to take the clone option! The dealers must make a massive amount of margin $$$ from these 3135 watches, and they are [censored]......
  20. Great shots indeed, thanks for sharing! Stunning watches these AP ROO's All you need now is a nice, high quality, orange stitch aftermarket strap
  21. The rep steel Seawolf crystal is very thick like the gen, whereas the rep ti crystal is about half the thickness, see here: As for the measurements, sorry, I don't know, but it would be cool to fit the thicker crystal with the genuine rehaut ring
  22. The clone A3135 movement is just the perfect opportunity for a price hike from our dealers, get a true ETA if you can each and every time, especially when you consider they charge the same/more for the A3135 clone over the Swiss ETA version! Sorry to say, but the A3135 is just a rip off, nice high margins for our dealers there, pure and simple..... I am glad you like the watch and that it is working now, hopefully nothing more falls off!
  23. Nice I wonder if a thicker crystal from the new steel Seawolf would fit the old ti case?
