  1. Great info DT! Best made to measure shirt I have is from Liste Rouge -what a great shirt! but at $200+ a pop I don't stock my closet with them. I recently tried a Brooks Brothers made to measure and it was good but not great for the cost and fabric quality.
  2. No starch for me. Starch wears shirts out faster since it gets between the fibers and actually spreads them apart.
  3. Great watch and congrats on completing the project Stilty!
  4. I've generally seen 589 end links on Monte Carlo's.
  5. Good luck there RW! I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Monte Carlo. I know what you mean, I have the tendency to get more than one project started at the same time then realize I have several watches all in pieces and nothing done.
  6. Hi Redwatch, Sorry to chime in late. You might be able to build one for a little less say $1200-$1500 but it will depend on the donor movement, its condition and how much work to make it all fit together. If it matters to you with J&W offering you get a signed Tudor bridge on the movement as well. You might be able to negotiate a better price than $1900 with J&W so that might a good starting point. I've been very happy with my 7032, the Big Block case sits tall and looks great on the wrist and of all my watches this by far gets the most comments. The main flaw obviously are Homeplate indices but then again how many people out there would know the dial was incorrect -not many!
  7. Here's my contribution, some old stock photos of my gen.
  8. Great idea B! I missed this post the first time around. I think I can scare up a few parts for a vintage Rolex.
  9. Looks legit. As Ubi said a low ball winning bid for sure!
  10. I don't think any one is hotter or cooler than the other, the key is the style of tropic straps having the perforations and/or cutouts to let your wrist breathe. Most new tropic style straps sold might be say rubber but are actually silicone. Bear in mind TJ that original (NOS) rubber tropic straps such as ones sold by Squinky on ebay smell like old tires and its seriously pungent!!! I don't wear mine for that reason and dumped them and switched to silicone. Modena Watch sells a tropic style in silicone that looks very similar to original tropic straps but have been updated a little with less taper and are thicker. My FF lives on one of the newer tropics as well as a number of my subs during parts of the year and doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything.
  11. Check my signature line for info on my 1655. Bear in mind that stock changes from dealers so you may not be getting the exact same thing as say a year ago. Best of luck on your project!
  12. R, Sorry to hear you're still duking it out, take care of yourself my friend! I know pnuemonia is tough to shake -Emergenc-C twice a day might help.
  13. JJ, a huge congrats -what beauty!! Wear it well.
  14. Nice find and quite a collection!

  16. I love this piece Projectologist!! Here's my contribution, which is no longer in the fold. I really enjoyed the appearance of the BP but it just wasn't the right watch for me.
  17. Possibly?? That's a nice thick tube, probably worth a try.
  18. As always VDB your work is mouth watering! Congrats. Nice buckle Z!
  19. Nice looking acqusition What2, the hands are great -if you get the chance please share some more details and photos when you have it in hand. It sounds like you're only option will be to have a tube made for the crown to fit your case.
  20. Indeed K, love to see more of that piece! FF today Have a nice weekend everyone!
  21. Thank you my friend -that's quite a compliment coming from you!!! your 16800
  22. Teejay, You might check with Howard at WCT to see if he still has any of these. Looks like the same dial and a good price.
