    MBW DRSD

Stac, Have you tried Eurotimez (Chris), he can usually get MBW/MBK dials separately. A relumed white print 1665 is probably the best looking and most cost effective way to go. Good luck!
  2. Nice pix Pugwash as always. Happy Belated Birthday too!
  3. Very nice guys! Here are a few:
  4. Nice Phoband! The Eiffel Tower is like the Golden Gate Bridge -you never get tired of looking at it.
  5. Nice post R, you've done your research well. I know some of the stock in the donor pieces I purchased have change over the last two years or have been discontinued, so that is some great hunting on your part. Of course, that is half the thrill! I'm glad I could help and stoke the 1655 fire and I'm sure you'll be happy with the results. I know my project was quite rewarding. All the best, -S
  6. One more Marlboro light tomorrow -strap that is!
  7. M, happy to help too if you still need it my friend!
  8. Marlboro light for men.... Why not! 6152 today with V's Marlboro light strap, this hide has a wonderful aged character to it. Thank you again V (and FGD) for another great strap and perfect buckle to boot!
  9. Another winner Nanuq! I'll bet it has some stories that go along with it.
  10. Congrats D, now you've got your Tudor! For Halloween, I'm thinking something dark and this Vintager strap is such a treat to wear -its like butter!
  11. Outstanding, nice job! Wear it well.
  12. Nice change up for a review R. So true, some of the best Cubans I've enjoyed were a box Partagas Serie D I purchased in London in 2000 and sat on most of them for about 5 years. Smoked a few early on -what a waste! and the ones after 4-5 years were heavenly. It's the patience part that always kills me. I have to say there are some wonderful cigars coming out of Nicaragua right now that I've tried in the past year and half. But the kids keep me so busy these days that I don't get to enjoy a spoke nearly as much as I used to -so what do I know!
  13. John, The vintage sub bezels are bi-directional and do not click, it's constructed just like the genuine. You might need to adjust the tension spring (looks like a flat metal washer). The tension spring may be bent a little or there may be some dirt or gunk on the the spring that is not allowing it to turn freely. You can pop the bezel off with a credit card by wedging it between the case and bezel and pry it up -a butter knife with some tape around it so you don't scratch the case will also work. Often turning the spring upside down and snapping the bezel back on will do the trick too. You can find a gen non-beveled edge T127 for $70-$100 if you look around. A worth while investment IMO. The Clarks 127 is the bevel edge crystal and will look like the one already mounted on it. You've got a nice piece there!
  14. Love that shot Freddy! It's the 1665 for me today
  15. Thank you Dadog! Should I tease you with a few more pix of another V strap on the way . My 6152 is an early version from DSN with the standard 6497 heartbeat. I did have the dail relumed by The Zigmeister, he did some painting on top of the lume on the dial and hands to give it some patina. The crystal is also tinted silightly with paint on the inside to give it a yellow aged perspex coloration. The case was aged (hard to see in the pix) by dinging it up with tools and carrying it around in the pants pocket full of coins for week. It still needs a little attention on crown, cg and case engravings but I've been side tracked with other projects lately. Your VDB masterpiece is on an entirely different level though!
  16. Thanks Dadog, yes the buckles and the strap sure came out great! The gunny straps are nice too I hear, please post some pix when you have it mounted on that incredible work of art you have .
  17. Dadog, Yes 26/26. I think the rule of thumb for a vintage fit is to add 10-20mm on long piece of the strap and 5mm more on the buckle side from what you would normally wear on a modern strap. I generally wear a 115/70 on a "factory" strap and my vintage was 130/75 and it's not too long. You do have to factor in if its 5mm thick strap that it will fit tighter too. You should have V make you a strap with the GPF repro buckles he has. Move fast though, he was down to only a few. Here's one he made for me.
  18. Nice Freddy!!! Well never say never; PVD watches have not been "my thing" but with the new FGD dials I thought I'd like to give one a whirl. This is a DSN 009, the gunmetal tone of DSN's PVD is fantastic. I have to say it's really growing on me -a nice Micah strap to compliment it doesn't hurt either . I'm just waiting for the new T PVD crowns and have the FGD dial swapped and voila a Pre-A 009!
