Guys,
This the first opportunity that I have had to write. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. The sense of friendship and community here is overwhelming to me. I've learned more about strokes in the past three days, than I ever thought I would want or need to know. Needless to say, this has been devastating to me and my family. My dad's stroke was massive. It involved a blockage to middle cerebral artery. To add insult to injury, there was hemorrhaging after the initial stroke. The Neurologist, who I really like, called it a perfect storm. Regrettably, my dad already takes coumadin, which is a powerful blood thinner, so the clot busting drugs you hear about could not be used. Now only time will tell. There is still swelling in his brain and his condition is deteriorating. Things don't look good. The only blessing is that he is non-responsive and doesn't know what is happening.
In tribute to my dad, I am wearing one of his favorite watches, a gen Omega Seamaster, 2254.50. My dad didn't baby his watches. He certainly didn't own any winder queens. It's one of my favorites. I hope you like it.
