  1. Ditto both of the above. While I would not put any money on a happy ending, every once in awhile a minor miracle does happen.
  2. Sunday But co-axial's inspired me to switch over to my CHS for dinner
  3. I stand corrected. Statements made to me by 2 USPS Supervisors, who were explaining the current USPS policy as it relates to 1 of my 'lost' packages.
  4. The following references International Registered Mail only (not domestic Registered Mail or any other mail carrier or shipping service). If you have questions about other carriers or shipping services, please contact the carrier. International Registered Mail coming into the US may no longer be systematically scanned or signed-for each time the package changes hands. International Registered Mail has always been considered to be the safest method of international shipment. However, apparently the USPS (quietly) changed their policy regarding the treatment of International Registered Mail about 2 years ago, as a cost-saving measure. This means that a Registered package can now be shipped between post offices without being scanned or left at the addressee's door without a signature. Of course, they forgot to mention this change to their customers, who are still (mistakenly) relying on International Registered Mail as a totally secure method of shipping important packages. Now, if an internationally shipped package (sent via International Registered Mail) goes lost, the US Postal Service may no longer be able to account for it. Unfortunately, this is likely to have serious ramifications for people buying/selling Rolex & other high value watches via ebay, TZ & other online sites where watches are bought/sold internationally. (To the best of my knowledge, this USPS policy change does not affect domestic Registered Mail (Registered Mail sent & received within the US).) Sadly, this is yet another example of why governments can no longer be trusted.
  5. Rep cases vary quite a bit, but they generally tend to be a bit too big so either the dial has empty space around it or it falls right through. Because of the lack of consistency (& standardization) among rep cases, you cannot tell how your dial will fit until you try it out.
  6. Looks good. I would try to square-up the lower/inner corners of the CGs though. Inside the CGs, where the vertical planes meet the horizontal plane, the corners are too round & they should be more angular. Check out some gens & you will see what I mean.
  7. Search out my He valve tutorials. 1 of them contains a listing of tools & procedures for drilling holes through virgin steel. Relatively easy to do with the correct tools.
  8. Killing time. Outstanding metal today, gentlemen.
  9. Ending the work week wearing my 6202
  10. The text varies a bit on that model, but it looks ok to me.
  11. It almost looks as if that object was (purposely) made to appear to be a possible bomb component to increase the likelihood that the package would be intercepted by customs or Homeland Security.

  13. To all collectors & buyers - According to the US Postal Service, International Registered Mail (Registered mail sent TO the US from another country or from the US TO another country) may not be as secure as Registered Mail sent within the US. Apparently, unlike domestic Registered Mail, which is kept in locked containers & always signed-for by whoever handles it, international Registered Mail may not be. This means that your Registered Mail may be lost, tampered with or stolen once incoming mail arrives in the US or outgoing mail leaves the US. This post refers to International Registered Mail ONLY.
  14. Alter - Please send David the tracking number & keep your message brief (1-2 lines of simple text). I would also include 1 good, clear picture of what you received. Please remember that English is not David's primary language & it is very difficult for him (& me) to decipher lengthy, detailed stories.
  15. Still
  16. Switched to Goldie for a late dinner
  17. Very sorry to hear this, but most reps are drop-shipped & the seller has no control over problems. All he can do is fix or replace a defective watch. If you explain the problem clearly, I am certain that Josh (Perfect Clones) will do his best to correct it.
  18. Bill - I understand where you are coming from, but be careful & stay safe, my friend.
  19. They are out now ($238 each, I believe) & the addition of asymmetrical pushers & (manual-wind) Venus movements (with frozen hour totalizers) raise the bar again. As usual, I would debate some of their claims that these new reps are identical (in size/shape) to the gens, but, for the money, they are improvements over the old symmetrical-pushered, automatic 7750-powered reps.
  20. automatico's sounds right, but thanks both of you.
  21. There has been some question about this, but, 4 years ago, they shared the same IP & a dns trace returned the same domain owner/address, so I have always operated with the understanding they are 1 in the same (or, at least, the same person/people).
  22. Wearing 1 of my Daytona lumps today
  23. Rolex (& I) would agree with that. If you send a gen watch into an RSC with an aftermarket crystal, crown, insert, strap, etc, (assuming it does not fool the tech, which is very rare), you will either get the watch returned to you, untouched & with a note saying the watch contains illegal parts, or they will force you to replace the non-gen part with the current gen replacement. There was a thread about this a couple of years ago.
